“Property is suffering from lack of regular maintenance and deep cleaning.”

Surprised at cleaning levels especially at current times. Beds in twin room really uncomfortable as well as lounge and dining room furniture. However, the property was mostly well equipped, location was perfect and we had a lovely holiday overall.

The property

A comfortable three bedroom terraced holiday home near the Rodwell Trail, Weymouth.

A warm and comfortable holiday home awaits you, and as soon as you set foot in Rodwell Halt you will feel instantly relaxed.

The layout of the downstairs sitting room and dining area which then leads onto the kitchen allows you to spend the maximum amount of time with your loved ones.

The enclosed sunny decked rear patio is just the ideal place to sit and enjoy the warmth of the sun on you whilst enjoy time relaxing with a cooling drink.

Or on a winter’s evening relax in front of the open fire and snuggle up cosy and warm.

Whilst upstairs the three bedrooms mean you have ample space for your family.

A short walk from the property and you are able to explore Sandsfoot castle and Sandsfoot beach (near the Sailing club) with plenty to explore at low tide, maybe even catch a few little crabs or fish.

Overturning the stones in the rockpools to see what you can find.

The Rodwell Trail a flat walk which takes you towards the national sailing academy on Portland in one direction or the town centre in the other.

A 15 minute walk takes you to the picturesque old harbour which has a wide choice of restaurants and pubs.

Another five minute's walk along the harbourside, over the town bridge and you will arrive at the town centre.

Weymouth beach is long and sandy with shallow waters which entice bathers.

Traditional beach attractions await you to bring out your inner child.

With so many options available in Weymouth you may find your car stays parked for the duration; but if you fancy exploring our lovely Dorset County you may enjoy driving the spectacular coast road with stunning views, stopping off en route at charming villages along the way. A true home from home to spend your holiday exploring the coast.

About the location

Castle Cove is a firm favourite with locals, sitting along side the Rodwell trail area, Castle Cove Beach is usually uncrowded, and offers safe bathing from it’s gently sloping shoreline. There are two main beach areas, Castle Cove, new steps to the beach opened early in 2019, and Sandsfoot beach, both with soft golden sand and the vibe of the best kept secret. Sandsfoot castle is just two minutes’ walk from the beach where you will find castle ruins, pretty award-winning gardens and a small café, offering snacks, drinks and ice-creams. Accessed off Old Castle Road in Weymouth, this area is a real treat for those who want to be away from the buzz and bright lights of the traditional Weymouth Seafront, and yet close enough to venture there when they choose. When you are on the beach you could be forgiven for thinking you are miles from town, and yet you are only a 15-20 minute walk from the old Harbour and access to Weymouth town centre. If you want to know where the locals would recommend you spend your beach days, then Castle Cove and Sandsfoot beaches are it.

Note: Due to a landslip, whilst Castle Cove beach is no longer accessible, you can still access Sandsfoot beach (next to the sailing club)
Note: From the landing there is a single room and bathroom, and there are 3 steps up to a top landing 740mm wide leading to a twin and double
Note: Guests are required to bring their own cot linen.

Note: Guests are required to provide their own fuel for the open fire.
Note: 9 Jul 2021 - Guests are advised that there is an issue with the bath panel at the property. Bathroom is due to be replaced Oct 2021. Shower and bath are in good working order, however cosmetic appearance is affected.
