Angel Cottage

My second stay at Angel Cottage.

Simple but comfortable accommodation for one or two. Very helpful hosts. The only drawback is the parking which for some reason has become more problematic since my first stay in June 2023. Nearby street parking is now usually over 100 yards away at all hours. Not easy for unloading or loading. However a fine base for exploring Dorset. Or, as in my case, sitting on the unbelievably quiet (Overcombe side) beach and wallowing about in the sea. For me a lovely week at Weymouth!

Angel Cottage is an ideal holiday home for a couple and as we had travelled to Weymouth by train, found its location excellent, as its only a couple of minutes walk to the local bus stop (which has a frequent service) and a Tesco Express plus several takeaways.

On arrival, we found a small problem and the owners arrived within a few minutes and it was quickly resolved. Unfortunately my husband spent the last night of our holiday in Dorchester Hospital. The owner was so kind and concerned that due to another booking, she couldn't offer to allow me to stay on in the cottage, but very kindly took me and our luggage to the hospital in her car and kept in touch to enquire after his progress which I greatly appreciated

Lovely little property near to regular bus service into Weymouth.

Close to a pub & several takeaways there is also a Tesco express

This was our second stay at Angel Cottage and again we weren't disappointed.

Very comfortable. So close to everything you need. A real treat.

Very disappointed with the outside area More towels would be a bonus Timing of the central heating needs to be adjusted

This was our 2nd time in Angel Cottage we had a great time and hope to return next year.

The cottage was lovely, clean, comfortable with a very good bed.

It is well situated and Lorraine the host was lovely and kept us upto date of any possible issues.

Lovely cottage and the bed as most have commented is fab only one small thing was the settee which was really uncomfortable but the cottage was spotless and the shower was lovely

Beautifuly clean and cosy.Every thing was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay and the cottage was very comfortable and perfectly adequate for 2 people.

The bed is very comfortable and the shower is easy to use and powerful. Would have liked a wastepaper bin upstairs, a shelf in the shower to put gels and shampoo onto, a bin lid that closes in the kitchen and to be able to recycle paper and cardboard. Bus stops nearby grocery shops, post office too. Just a 15 minute walk to the seafront.

It’s got everything we need for a great holiday. Cosy and spotlessly clean. Good location. Couldn’t ask for more. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival really appreciated. We will return

Great little property, very clean and well equipped.

Parking always within a few minutes walk. Easy walk into town either by Dorchester Road or more scenic route over railway bridge and Radipole Park. Quiet location. Milk and biscuits on arrival most welcome. Thank you for a great stay.

The kitchen needs updating.

The towels were too small and discoloured- bath sheets would be preferable. The cottage needs re- decorating as there were peeling walls and the framework on the windows was flaking. The bed was comfortable and we were happy with the location.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Angel cottage.

The entire house was scrupulously clean, had everything needed for a very comfy and happy stay. The property is within easy walking distance of the beach, town bird sanctuary and many other amenities. Reliable and regular bus service runs at the end of the road. I will definitely be back as soon as I can

This property is comfortable, and provided with everything you might need during your stay.

It's well situated for buses and the railway station, and Lidl, Sainsbury and Morrisons. A Tesco express is 50 yds away. Wifi is very good throughout. Wouldn't hesitate to go there again - many thanks to the owner for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday!

When we looked to book this cottage was the cheapest we could find.

It was really good value for what we paid for it. We had a lovely stay and holiday. Felt so relaxed and rejuvenated when we got home. Cottage was spotlessly clean and very cosy. We can't fault it. Bed was really comfy. We were expecting stairs to be steep but wasn't at all. Great location. Pub, food and bus stops just up the road. Nice good steady walk to sea front and across to town and finally the harbour (total 1 1/2 miles). We enjoyed the walk but there is the option of the bus if weather is bad. We would definitely stay here again and recommend. Unfortunately there appears to be no bookable dates for next year?

Lovely cosy cottage.

Spotlessly clean with a very comfy bed. A lot of thought has gone into making the cottage a great stay. Handy for buses and shops, which are 1 minute round the corner. I really enjoyed my holiday here and would stay again in the future. Thank you very much to the cottage owners.

A good holiday spot especially if you lack personal transport.

Everything was left clean. Bed was very comfortable. Parking was not a major problem. The couple of metre square backyard did not offer much of an amenity. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Angel Cottage & if the occasion arose, we would certainly stay there again.

Lovely cosy cottage; great position for beach and public transport; very clean and tidy.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The TV was a bit outdated as had very limited number of channels to watch; also sofa was quite uncomfortable. It would have been nice to have a little more outside space but at least there was some in the little courtyard. For pensioners like us, who are still reasonably fit, it was an ideal getaway.

The house was great for our week long stay.

Good sized bedroom, comfortable bed, enough drawers and hanging space. Good sized shower cubicle and shower worked well. Stairs aren't as bad as the advert makes them sound. Decent sized living room, tv, dvd player, wifi all worked well. Two seater settee, good dining table and two chairs. Kitchen is quite small but perfectly usable. Gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots and pans. The house is well decorated and presented, and was very clean and we'll maintained. Nice and bright sitting out area to back of house with table and chairs. Parking outside was not an issue, if a space was not available outside the house there was always a space further down the street or just around the corner, not more than 30 seconds away. Lots of shops and supermarkets nearby, very handy. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, it felt nicely homely. You can clearly tell that the owner has put in a lot of effort to make the house feel nicely enjoyable. And thank you for the packet of biscuits and brewing bits and pieces, after a five hour drive that was appreciated. Definitely recommend.

Very nice clean and comfortable cottage Close to town centre Would recommend but would also say stairs a bit dodge So not very good if you are elderly or like to get a bit wafey

Good location for beach and all amenities, rooms where a good size and tastfully decorated, cleanliness was good.

We ate in and found kitchen utilities enough for what we wanted. It was a nice thought to leave milk and biscuits on arrival. the only thing we would have prefered is a small pleasent outside area to sit and have coffee. The refridgerater was low to the floor making it aukward to see what is on bottom shelves and microwave would be better made more secure. Wifi available but only freeview on TV. As mentioned on other feedback parking is literaly pot luck.

This property was very comfortable and extremely well located for us.

We were taking buses daily whilst walking the SW coast path from Seaton to Poole. One small improvement would be blackout or thicker curtains and a way of turning off the green light on the landing. This would help have helped us to sleep better.

I had a really enjoyable stay.

Shops, buses all within close distance. I was able to rest too as it was quiet at nighttime. This was certainly a place that I would visit again, plus it was very reasonably priced.

Lovely cottage very pleasant.

Amenities close by, cottage was clean, warm and well maintained. Only down side is the lack of parking it's a first come first served but this is completely beyond owners control. All in all a very pleasant stay.
