    “We loved Admirals Retreat, it's great that it has parking, which would've been tight if there were more cars there.”

    The flat was generally clean, but you could see a lot of dust and hairs under the sofa's (especially when the sun shone in). Although it's not your fault, an upstairs neighbour has very heavy footsteps, which can be annoying at midnight. Overall, we liked it and would go again

The property

A bright, stylish, spacious and quiet apartment in a gated complex which was built by an ecologically recognised builder. All on one level once inside but the entrance to the apartment is up one full flight of stairs.

The spacious hallway leads to the lounge, bedroom and bathroom and the apartment has wooden floors throughout.

The well equipped kitchen has granite worktops.

The Nothe Gardens are on the doorstep and a short stroll from the apartment are paths with beautiful views along the Dorset coast and toward Portland. Brewers Quay area and Hope Square are a short walk away where you can enjoy a glass of wine and many dining opportunities.

Heading through Hope Square takes you to the pretty, old harbour where working fishing boats can be seen and you can enjoy some wonderful fish and chips. Beyond the harbour and across the town bridge is the seaside town with an array of shops and also the long, golden, sandy beach, ideal for a stroll to watch the evening sun go down. For those who seek more adventures on the Dorset coast you can find UNESCO World Heritage sites at Lulworth Cove just a short 25 minute drive east along the coast or driving west along the coast road towards West Bay the views are stunning.

Don’t forget to visit Portland and the iconic Portland Bill lighthouse.

A perfect, romantic retreat at any time of the year.

Visit Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s “Casterbridge”, only 7 miles away, or take a journey along the scenic coastal road and call in at Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens. Alternatively, just head down to West Bay - the views of the stunning Dorset Heritage Coastline are not to be missed!
