Enjoyed our stay, 3rd year and will return again.

Although we enjoyed our time at Nike, the property needs some updating especially the kitchen which looks like it hasn’t been renewed since the 70’s.

. The family bathroom with the corner bath needs a rethink, a shower would have been preferred. The beach is quite a distance away especially when carrying beach chairs and the like.

Lovely cottage in a great position - near the harbour for restaurants and atmosphere but very quiet in the mews itself.

Decoration and cleanliness were both a very high standard and the parking was a real bonus so close in to the town. Outside, the 2 chairs and coffee table provided were as expected, but 2 additional folding chairs were provided which allowed our party of 4 to sit outside together - great to cool down out there once the sun had gone as we had very warm weather during our stay. The only suggestion would be to provide a fan during the hot weather as it was very warm in the bedrooms. We took our own on the advice of a previous reviewer and were very glad we had. We would definitely stay here again if in the area as I don’t think it could have been better for what we needed.

We loved our stay in Nuke, Weymouth.

The cottage was lovely and clean with a washing machine and dishwasher. The neutral colours inside made a relaxing environment! Even a welcome box and a pint of milk in fridge! The gated shared yard left the car secure and sheltered. My parents have rented one of these twice or three times a year for the past 10 years. The close proximity harbour and to Bennett’s fish and chip shop an added bonus. Loved our holiday and will definitely be back.

Our second stay at Nuke.

We met the lovely owners on arrival who assured us the TV had been sorted and a new cleaning team installed, hence we can now give a 5 star rating. The property is immaculate, decor tasteful, very comfortable and well equipped. The welcome pack was a thoughtful gesture. An electric fan would be a useful addition as it’s very hot upstairs. Behind electric gates, and five minutes walk to the harbour, shops, pub’s & cafe’s Nuke is a perfect base to stay in Weymouth.

Dune is an excellent cottage ideally suited for a holiday in Weymouth.

It's comfortable, well fitted out and was scrupulously clean. The "welcome pack" was a nice touch. It is within short walking distance of the harbour, town and beach. We had a very enjoyable holiday. Our only suggestion would be to change the key box for the front door which is not user friendly.

This property was beautiful.

the owner had thought of everything to make a guest stay comfortable. The welcome greet pack was a lovely touch. Their were tea towels provided a sponge and dishcloth even some washing up liquid. the bathrooms had hand gel . It was immaculate presentation and top notch cleanliness. We loved the fact that it had its designated parking and that the area was secure with the large gates and back gate that was only opened by the keycode on the keypads. The property was situated a 2 min walk to the brewers key . Should their have been any issues the office of countrycottages/sykes was situated in Hope square right near the property at brewers key. I would recommend if you are staying at this property to take with you a fan for the bedroom/s as it get really hot up their. We had ours with us . We are of the older age group and thus this property ticked all the boxes for us being near the harbour and near the places to eat out also the peace and quiet. we enjoyed sitting outside of an evening having a drink and it was so relaxing. one of the best holidays i think i have ever had

Nuke is a lovely cottage in a fantastic location.

Very comfortable with all the facilities necessary. Great welcome pack too - have been twice and would come again. The cottage is set just a short walk from Newtons Cove, the harbour, and town itself where there is an abundance of bistros, restaurants and pubs... Love it...includes parking which is a great bonus. Only downside, which can't be helped is the amount of building works in the area but hopefully these are short term. Thank you

Lovely property in an ideal spot, you can park car and walk everywhere, so central.

The designated parking spot is very secure within a gated complex. This is our second visit and we will be back again. Highly recommended.

Nuke is an excellent place to stay in a prime location to explore Weymouth and Dorset.

I understand that the kitchen, although currently perfectly adequate, will be updated soon and a five star rating must surely be awarded. We will certainly have Nuke in mind each time we return to Dorset.

This is the first time visiting this holiday cottage and hopefully not our last.

Accommodation was lovely, very clean and an added bonus was the private gated parking. Very close to all amenities all within easy walking distance. The weather was amazing which added to our overall experience. On arrival we met one of the owners briefly, very helpful and friendly. The welcome box was lovely, surprisingly different and very nice. Thank you so very much.

This property was fantastic , it had everything we needed for our holiday.

The house was very clean and super comfy. The rooms were just the right size and it was lovely and warm, all the furniture was like new and the beds were lovely and comfy. Being able to park the car opposite the house , was a great plus.

Very clean and comfortable. The parking is a great addition. Only a few minutes walk to the harbour. We will definitely stop here again.

Nuke is a lovely property, tastefully decorated and quality furniture.

Secure behind electric gates and very peaceful. Thanks for welcome pack, a nice gesture. The TV and controller is a big problem as mentioned by previous people. The downstairs toilet seat needs replacing as the hinge appears broken. There was a lack of washing up liquid and surface cleaner to keep the kitchen spotless during our stay so we called at Dream cottage management agency round the corner who supplied us with some on request. As we travelled by train to Weymouth we couldn’t bring these items so it would be worth considering in the future please. We have booked again for next year so hopefully the few problems will be resolved and we can give 5 stars!

Property spotless,everything looked as if it had recently been decorated.

Everything good quality. Only problem we encounted was the tv in the living room, we felt that the problem was the handset. That aside the location was good, a short walk to the harbour and with allocated parking outside the property it ticked all the boxes. Highly Recommended.

We had a lovely stay in Nuke.

Very comfortable place to stay, well equipped a home from home. Nice to have some games and DVDs provided and the welcome pack was very nice. It was good to have allocated parking which felt secure. Loved where it was positioned near Newtons cove, great for regular swims, visits to the harbour and not to far from main beach. Just a couple of minor things that I’d feed back. I think dimmer light bulbs in bedside lights would be better as quite bright and the TV remote is a bit hit and miss (we changed batteries) but still sometimes had difficulties getting it to work. We really enjoyed our stay and have booked to return next year. Thanks

Nuke was lovely and everything was provided for our comfort.

The floors could have been cleaner ( i dropped soap and used toilet paper to wipe the floor and it was dirty, this was day we arrived). The toilet seat in the little downstairs loo needs replacing as it moves sideways as is very loose). None of this spoiled our break as we were renting with our 10 year old grandson. Nuke was very central to amusements and eateries. We liked the fact that it was situated behind electric gates which was great as our car was secured and parked opposite the house. We have electronic gates and Ring at home, so appreciate security. My grandson loved the double room all to himself and his own bathroom as he has an en-suite at home. This was a great holiday for him as we took him to the Tank Museum (it’s a boy thing or girl thing). Which he loved. The beach was marvelous and clean and as most the amusements were near (across the road) and some on part of the beach, we were all in heaven Nuke was a great

Upon arriving at Nuke we were extremely happy with the property inside and out, the cottage is spotless and beautifully decorated, we felt it was a home from home with all the comforts needed for a getaway.

The welcome pack was a lovely touch and the fresh milk and cleaning supplies were gratefully received. We didnt notice on the listing as well as bathroom and shower room there was a downstairs toilet - a real bonus. We have stayed in Weymouth many times, ususally we have stayed near the Harbour but did find this could be on the noisy side late at night, Nuke was a welcome relief, just a couple of minutes walk, but oh so peaceful. We will be looking to rebook again for 2026 in the next few days. We had no reason to make contact with the agent as our week was just perfect, but the email from Sykes with a few reminders what to do when leaving was very welcome. All in all we had the best week, Weymouth weather was on our side and Nuke has just become our new favourite place to tell all our friends and family about. I wholehartedly recommend booking Nuke through Sykes Cottages and only wish we could have stayed longer John and Olivia Newman (Surrey)

Always a nice stay. Would definitely return. Just a small thing, the shower mixer bar upstairs requires replacement, varying temperatures. Just changed mine at home for the same reason.

The location of Nuke in the quiet mews, coupled with the sheltered parking across from the house, is very secure and absolutely perfect.

We have stayed in these cottages several times, but this was our first visit to Nuke. There were issues (in no particular order): The fridge/freezer is unserviceable and should be replaced because it is switched down to 'low' by the cleaners and takes a couple of days to return to proper freezing temperature. Milk was going off within 24 hours, the freezer was solid with ice but ice-cream would melt in 12 hours. The dishwasher is a tad temperamental; sometimes it works and sometimes it decides to go on holiday for 8 hours. The sitting room television is similiarly temperamental; it has a very limited number of terrestrial channels and will not always change channels, it just freezes. The heating programmer is new but there are no instructions to go with it; somebody from Dreams had to come out 3 times to get it working properly. The extractor fan in the downstairs toilet it not working. The second bathroom, with the round bath, is unusable by an adult, although it might be fine for a 5-year old. It is too shallow for a grown up. There were dirty utensils in the kitchen which had not been properly sorted and cleaned; we found a saucepan with an inch of oil/grease in the bottom of it, used for frying something, some time ago. Cleaners should have dealt with it. Downstairs corner-shaped sofa is extremely uncomfortable, it is too big/deep for normal sized adults and the cushion arrangement is wierd. There was only one clock in the whole house, over the door between the kitchen and sitting room. Fortunately, and aware that we had to be out of the cottage by 10am, we had brough a couple along, together with our mobile phones. On the plus side, the pillows were excellent (not always the case in these cottages and I bring my own as a precaution). We do this holiday break twice a year but it was sad to see Weymouth looking so uncared-for and the season had clearly already ended for a number of premises along the harbour.

The property was located in a great place for ease of Weymouth walking distance.

Having a secure car space a bonus. Mins from beach good.The king-size bed was really comfortable. The shower was hot and ample size. Seating is looking a little out of shape but was comfy . The amazing happy hamper left for us was a great touch and well received plus the fresh milk. Would come back again

We could hear whole conversation by neighbours and hear neighbour being sick in shower every morning. Not pleasant. Needed more hand towels Needed more than one tea towel for a week Greater choice of drinking glasses needed (high balls) for gin, etc. Kitchen supplies are quite basic. Ironing board is wobbly, almost unsafe. There is significant building work at the back of the mews. Guests should be warned about this on considering booking. I note building noise has been an issue before in a review. We reported a couple of maintenance issues do they could be fixed for future guests. This resulted in property management company entering the property whilst we were out, without asking/letting us know. We came back one evening to find things had been moved in some places.

Lovely property in an ideal location.

Exactly as described and shown in the photos. Comfortable and felt right at home. Literally a minutes walk to the harbour area. Parking on site is a bonus and we went the whole week without using the car. Only 1 small thing which was a bit annoying was the property next door was having work done so could hear sawing and banging early in the morning. However, I appreciate this is beyond the control of the owners and would not put us off staying there again. Luckily weather was good enough for us to be out all day.

Property was clean ,tidy and comfortable one more hand towel would have been handy one for each bathroom.

instructions for operating heating were not clear was simple enough though after the owner of no 7 “splash” explained it.

Lovely property, set in a fabulous position close to the town and Newton's beach.

Can highly recommend and if coming to Weymouth we would definitely opt to stay at the Nuke again. Lovely Dorset welcome pack - would prefer plain coffee to flavoured but that's just me. Thank you again - fabulous!

This is the second time we have stayed at Nuke, very near to the Harbour and the Nothe, Nuke was very clean and tidy with the added bonus of secure and covered parking.

Good general accommodation.

Close to the old harbour and Newton's Cove. Very good internet connection and very good state-of-the-art TV. Own covered parking place is also a good point. ------------------------------------------- It was the second time we've stayed here and I mentioned it before - the bannister does not go all the way to the top of the stairs, it stops at the first corner, not good, it is a safety concern.

It's the second time we have stayed at Nuke,it's a lovely cottage and being only two of us there was plenty of space.

Its well appointed, but a few minor niggles are the size of the mugs/cups they are huge and the size of the frying pan,again huge and for two totally impractical.Also Freezer needed defrosting it was difficult to open any of the drawers due to ice.As I say it would not put us off renting again but minor niggles.Its a perfect location , parking can be a little tight but very handy opposite the front door.An ideal cottage to stay at any time of the year.

Nice place to stay close to all amenities with a parking space , bonus points for that as parking in general is expensive there .

The area is being revamped with building work in progress in numerous buildings close by. But this didn’t hamper our stay , we had a lovely time there lots of walking and cycling which we found the easiest to get around.

We really enjoyed our holiday and staying at Nuke made it perfect, it was well equipped and very clean and spacious.

We would definitely recommend this property as it is in a gated courtyard with an undercover allocated parking space, the location was situated close to the Harbour and Newtons Cove.

Great cottage.

Very clean and facilities spot on. Close to the quay and local pubs and entertainment. Gorgeous staying the west side of Weymouth with all the beautiful coves and scenery.

Everything was perfect.

This is the second time we have stayed in this cottage and think it is the best. It is in a secure area with it's own undercover parking , it is within walking distance to the harbour, shops and beaches. Dreams, just around the corner were excellent, on our way out we reported a wobbly toilet seat and it was mended by the time we got back. The only thing that would stop us going back is our age, we fiound the long journey tiring.

Loved staying at Nuke.

It is a lovely cottage in a very good location with parking. The washing machine didn't work but this was swiftly dealt with by a brilliant lady called Jane at sykes cottages. We had terrible weather during our stay so spent a lot more time in the cottage than expected but it is warm, cosy and comfortable...a real home from home. We loved it. ❤️

The Nuke is in an excellent location with safe parking.

The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and clean. The welcome pack was of a v high quality... We would recommend.

The cottage was lovely in a good location .

Though lack of privacy The beds and sofa were extremely Uncomfortable so much so we had to go out and spend £82 on an air bed for better comfort We also had to go and buy tools as the ironing board fell to pieces so we fixed it . Totally not worth £1000 per week when so uncomfortable and unable to sleep and having to fix things The downstairs window was easy to open but very hard to shut as the handle was just on the window sil rather than fixed to the window Sorry - about this review but we feel it really was not value for money . We go to weymouth every Year . The good points were the parking and The shower

Excellent location, easy 2 minute stroll to the harbour.

Beautiful decor throughout the cottage and great to have secure, gated parking. A few minor issues taken care of would make it perfect. The bath drains while you're sitting in it, the plug needs a new seal or something, as such this was unusable during our stay. The shower has great water pressure, but if on full the water goes in all directions, needs a new shower head. The oven took a very long time to cook anything, much longer than it should. The curtains in the main bedroom are not blackout so let all the light in from the carpark overnight. Overall, these are minor concerns and it wouldn't stop us staying again.

The stairs need an extra handrail for the last four steps for people who like to hold on.

The extension lead needs to be longer so the hairdryer reaches the mirror in the main bedroom. Not enough hand towels if 4 guests are staying because you need 1 in cloakroom and 1 in kitchen. There was no bath mat in the bathroom.

Perhaps get some fans in for the extreme heat we are having , luckily we packed our fan with us, that aside the property had everything you could need for a relaxing lovely holiday at NUKE ideal location close to Weymouth Harbour and added bonus of parking car behind secure gates.

Fabulous property, Shame second bathroom only had bath not shower.

Could do with a tumble dryer. Had a slight problem with downstairs lol which they were great about and fixed same day. My biggest gripe is not being able to get in until 4pm, it’s nearly a day of your holiday. The prices are a tad excessive too.

Lovely cottage with complete security and in a perfect location. Easy walking distance into Weymouth, two pubs a short walk away glad to see that Weymouth planners had the sense to keep the character of the area. I hope to return soon.

Another lovely stay at the Nuke.

Everything you need, great pet free property for allergy sufferers like me. Location is perfect you can park the car and walk everywhere. Only negative the hot water tap in the kitchen sounds like air in pipes when used. Just needs to be checked. Will be back again.

Nice cottage in a good location but would not use again or recommend.

The lack of any sort of Welcome Pack (not even a pint of milk or a tea bag) was very poor. I have never stayed anywhere where there hasn’t been some provisions for at least a warm drink in arrival supplied. Very unwelcoming and a very poor show on the owners and agency’s part.

Everything was great.

The only criticism was that the windows were very dirty, every window you looked out of made you very aware of how dirty they were. Apart from that we were very happy and would be very happy to return.

Nuke cottage is so beautiful every comfort is catered for. Much larger inside than you would think. Love its a Friday Start too. We could park behind gates not worry about the car. We have booked up NUKE cottage for next July 2022 as loved it so much. Thank you NUKE owners and Dream Team. Kind regards as always Mr & Mrs Brindley.

Fabulous property in excellent location.

Nuke was very clean, light & airy with smart decor. Sofas and beds were very comfortable and it was generally well equipped. Wi-Fi worked fine for us. The bathrooms were contemporary and the en-suite shower hot & powerful plus the towels were bright white, large and fluffy. The only thing it lacked was a shelf for shampoo etc in the shower. The main bedroom is especially lovely and looked newly decorated. Private secure parking is a valuable bonus, the spaces are a little tight even for our mini but everyone in the mews managed ok. It would be hard to better the location just a few minutes flat walk to Hope square and the lovely harbour. Just one observation there was no welcome pack so if you want a cuppa on arrival make sure you take supplies with you ! Highly recommended we would certainly choose this property again.

Communication from Dream Cottages was excellent from booking right through to departure, with handy local office and contact details in case of problems.

Guests need to know that if on foot there is a side gate tucked away near the washing lines that you can use.

This has a digilock with the same code as drive gates. Lovely property everything you need.

This was the best cottage we have rented, it was beautifully decorated and furnished and very clean.

All the appliances were good quality and easy to use. The private parking was a really good bonus. It is so close to everything, I loved walking down to Newton cove, especially with the cruise ships, anchored in the bay. We had 2 weeks of perfect weather, so it was one of our best holidays, and good fish and chips.

We were slightly apprehensive about leaving our little covid free bubble at home and venture on holiday this year but I'm so glad we did.

The cottage was absolutely spotless, it looked like we were the first people to ever visit. It is in a fantastic location, 2 minutes away from the beautiful Newtons Cove and just around the corner from the harbour but far enough away not to hear any of the hussle and bustle. Just a short walk over the bridge took us to town or to the beach. The decor was lovely, beds were really comfortable and there was everything you could possibly need in the cupboards. The gated access and parking space were great as there were no worries about leaving the car, or moving it and losing your space. An ideal base to explore the local area as well as the rest of Dorset. We loved it so much we've already booked to come back again next year.

Although Nuke offers free WiFi it was extremely slow, apart from that no issues and property was beautiful.

This cottage is in a really good location to access pubs, restaurants, old harbour and shops.

It would also be brilliant for anyone who wants to set off walking along the coast. The town of Weymouth has all you need - shops, cinema, restaurants, pubs, food take-aways and then sandy beach and masses of interesting places to visit close by. The cottage was clean, contemporary and warm, with the bonus of a downstairs cloakroom too. We loved it and are determined to return before too long. The only negative is- the shower has little power and the bathroom has a tiny corner bath, impossible to lie down and enjoy a hot bath, particularly as the hot water runs out with a only a few inches in the bath - not good!

Teething problems with this relatively new let.

..WIFI connection depends on next door router and at best signal in Nuke was fair to weak and mostly unusable except from the kitchen area which is closer to the router. I understand from the owner that a booster is to be fitted to the router in Reeva! ..I needed the access for business purposes so used local facilities in cafes etc. the heating system twice required attention from a local representative in the office at Hope square but was working by the time we left.

Nuke is a beautiful house , all of the rooms are decorated to a high standard and the furnishings are good .

We spent an enjoyable 2 weeks there . The en suite and seperate bathroom were very useful . However the place was let down by some niggling attention to detail. Firstly the kitchen has a microwave and dishwasher but all of the crockery had labels on saying they were not microwave or dishwasher safe ! Secondly the internet connection is very poor and mostly unusable so having a smart TV in the main bedroom to watch netflix/on demand is pointless . I contacted Dream Cottages to enquire/complain about the internet access , they contacted the owner who said that it was standard broadband. If I was paying for broadband where the speed varied between 0.5 mbps and 9 mbps ( mostly 0.2 mbps to 1.00 mbps ) then I would be asking questions of the provider. I couldn't see a router in the property so maybe the broadband service is a shared connection and is only usable if nobody else in the adjoining properties is using the service. Thirdly as we were resident for 2 weeks we found a note in the kitchen advising that a linen change and property refresh would be carried out on the Saturday of the 2nd week . We were asked to leave the key in the key-box. We did this and upon returning found that the linen change and refresh had not happened . I went round to the Dream Cottages office , it transpired that as the property was a Friday to Friday let that the refresh should have been done on the Friday but as we hadn't left the key it couldn't be done . We were given a choice of having the towels/linen replacements dropped off within the hour if we wanted to change the bedding ourselves or wait until the Monday to have the linen change and full refresh . We opted for the do it yourself option. A small issue was the velux windows in three of the rooms , the blinds were very difficult to close/open and there was no advice in the welcome book on how to use them .These niggles did have an effect on our overall enjoyment of the stay .
