“The photo of the exterior of the property does not show the close proximity of the neighbouring properties.”

The public car park is only metres away from the boundary of the property and privacy is compromised. Also the beautiful views can be obscured especially with large camper type vehicles parking on the seaward side of the property. The access road (Mount Lane) is very narrow and could (in high season) be frustratingly tiresome with meeting oncoming traffic. On the plus side the property was extremely comfortable and clean with all home comforts. The owners made contact to ensure all was well with our stay.

The property

Sandpiper Chalet is a beautiful and comfortable holiday home with stunning sea views in the small seaside village of Eype, two miles from Bridport. This comfortable well-equipped property is situated only 50 metres from the beach which is good for fishing.

Inside there is a light, airy contemporary living space which has been thoughtfully furnished.

The beds are so comfortable and the surroundings so quiet that a good night's sleep is almost guaranteed.

If you want complete relaxation, you may wish to sit on the patio area and enjoy the surrounding views and tranquillity or watch the sea from the comfort of the living area, or even your bed. Seconds away is a beautiful pebble and sand beach backed by impressive cliffs, including Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the South coast and you may recognise it from the hit TV series 'Broadchurch'!

The chalet is located in the sleepy coastal village of Eype which has the benefit of a good local pub the New Inn, serving a good choice of food and a fine pint of ale.

There is also a seasonal shop.

The village with its narrow winding roads and traditional pastoral buildings has a feel of years gone by and on a holiday here you may feel transported to a less frantic, more relaxed era.

With the Jurassic Coast on your doorstep and the sea directly in front of you, along with the coast path, this is ideally located for some hearty walks to nearby West Bay in one direction and Charmouth in the other which is famous for fossil hunting.

The market town of Bridport is only two miles away where you can find well-known high-street stores, antiques and collectables, as well as a regular farmers' market showcasing the best of Dorset produce.

This lovely chalet is a wonderful retreat for couples or a small family to have a seaside holiday close to the beach.

About the location

Eype sits on one of the most dramatic sections of the Jurassic Coastline, and famously features one of ITV’s series Broadchurch’s most iconic locations. We’ll leave you guessing as to which one until you visit. The beach at Eype is a steeply shelving pebble beach that is dog friendly all year round and just 3 miles from Bridport and 4 from West Bay, where many other Broadchurch locations can be viewed, as well enjoying local fish and chips on the harbour side and ice creams on the sea front. Bridport offers all the high street amenities you will need along with a much-coveted antiques and collectables market. Golden Cap, the highest point in Dorset, sits on the South West Coast path and is just 4 miles from Eype, although it’s the highest point there are moderate routes to walk to the top, where spectacular far reaching views along the coast will be your reward.
