Grazeland Cottage

This was our first time staying at Grazeland and we weren’t disappointed.

The cottage was immaculate both inside and out. The welcome pack of tea and cake were most welcome after a long drive to Dorset. Everything is on a single, ground level floor, which was perfect having a toddler. The rooms are all a good size. The kitchen is the best equipped in any cottage we have stayed in, with all the utensils and equipment you would have at home, with made cooking so easy. There was a combined washer/drier, dishwasher and if you wanted it, a bbq. The hosts live next door, exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always happy to help without being overbearing. Bridport is a 10 minute drive, with good facilities and a thriving market. West Bay and the coast another 5 minutes along. This is a perfect base for exploring Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. We would thoroughly recommend Grazeland and would definitely come back to stay again.

Beautiful property, very clean, plenty of room and very dog friendly,fairly easy to find and less than 5 minute drive into Bridport amd a further 5 into West Bay.

Another wonderful week in this lovely cottage.

Everything is provided by the hosts for a perfect holiday & we love our breaks spent there. Our little dog was very happy there too, and enjoyed her walks in this super area.

Fabulous farm cottage.

Everything we required was there. It was warm and cosy. Beds were very comfortable. Beautiful clean. Loved the conservatory sat in there a lot. I would recommend it to others who were looking for peace and quiet. The owners were friendly and respectful as we were them. We really enjoyed our stay. So did our dog. Thank you.

A well-presented, clean and comfortable property with everything we needed for an enjoyable holiday.

The chocolate cake waiting for us on arrival was a very thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. Facilities for our dog were excellent, with a securely fenced patio and a large paddock for exercise.

Grazeland Cottage is a lovely cottage with a nice farmhouse feel to it.

Big, comfortable furniture rather than IKEA style coldness. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday and the hosts, although co-located, were not intrusive and very much respected our privacy as we did theirs. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the place. Kitchen equipment was clean and modern. If we were to make one small suggestion, like most holiday lets, the kitchen knives could have been sharper, but ,'eh, hardly worth a mention.

Just got back from what must be at least our 7th holiday at Grazeland I think Over the years we have always had the best time at this place The kids ask to go back every year Cosy, clean cottage, set in the most peaceful area and close enough to the beaches for us The friendliest hosts as well Really haven't ever had anything negative to say about Grazeland We love it, it's a home from home, hope to be back next year

Truly a Dream Cottage and with a lovely owner who lived next to us.

I went feeling unwell so the first day I spent in the cottage while husband and dog went out. It was very therapeutic owing to the beautiful, tasteful cottage and extensive gardens and grounds.

What a gem of a place, clean spacious comfortable, if you want to get away from it all this is the place, great location

Grazeland is a beautiful property among beautiful countryside.

It is very well equipped and has comfortable furniture and beds. Mr and Mrs Knell make you feel very welcome. The only drawback to Grazeland is finding it in the first instance! Two tips: first, ignore the satnav. You will find yourself down a very narrow lane - definitely not where you want to be. Secondly, ignore the directions sent out by Sykes. Though accurate, they are not helpful. Instead, when travelling down the lane towards Broadoak, keep your eyes open for a thatched cottage on the left hand side. It's about a mile along the lane. Immediately after you will see a convex mirror set in the hedgerow at about head height. The gravel drive leading to Grazeland is Immediately opposite.

Grazeland cottage is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a peaceful holiday, the owners made you fel very welcome.

The only downside to all this, is the excessive booking fee by sykes cottages.

Lovely cottage in a quiet location.

But still only a few minutes from shops and restaurants. Just the place to either get out and explore or hide away and recharge the batteries.

As always, the cottage was spotless and well equipped. Steve and Christine are the nicest hosts; we have always felt so welcome there. It's so peaceful and so well located for Bridport/ West Bay and the delights of Lyme Regis, Charmouth etc. We love this place, and wouldn't change anything about it. Perfect!

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm and beauty of the cottage. Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Bridport, Dorset, Grazeland Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. The serene and tranquil setting provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and memorable holiday. The cottage itself was immaculately maintained and thoughtfully decorated, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were particularly impressed with the attention to detail, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-equipped kitchen. Every aspect of the cottage was designed to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Our family enjoyed spending time in the beautifully landscaped garden, where we could unwind and take in the stunning views. The location was ideal, allowing us to easily explore the charming town of Bridport and the breathtaking Dorset coast. We found ourselves quickly falling in love with the area and its many attractions. Your hospitality and care in preparing the cottage for our arrival were greatly appreciated. The welcome pack and helpful local information made us feel right at home from the start. It is clear that you take great pride in providing an exceptional experience for your guests. In summary, our stay at Grazeland Cottage was nothing short of wonderful. It was the perfect retreat for our family, offering both relaxation and adventure. Comfortable and spotless cottage with a lovely garden.

Friendly hosts who provided an added extra of bacon, sausage and eggs, much appreciated. Well situated for exploring coast and countryside Only disappointment was the amount of weeds on the patio area at the back. Looked very uncared for. It was cleared on our last day , so unfortunately too late for us to enjoy.

Excellent property with friendly owner in a beautiful place

We were really impressed by the cleanliness, equipment and homely feel of this lovely cottage situated in a quiet country location with excellent views, well placed for days out.

The spacious garden and adjacent field were great for walking our dog. Nice secure back yard as well so we could let the dog out.

The place had everything we required, it was well equipped and in a peaceful setting in the countryside.

Second visit to Grazelands and just as beautiful.

Steve and Chris very accommodating Cottage immaculate and in a glorious area.Just two things I would comment on is the patio area at rear, really does need some TLC, looks neglected and spoils the rest of property. Also could do with a new mattress in main bedroom, it's getting saggy and gave us backache. Apart from that, a wonderful property.

Our second visit to the cottage was as nice as the first.

The cottage is fully equipped and comfortable . There were a couple of technical issues with the fire in the lounge and the lavatory in the bedroom but it didn't affect our enjoyment. There is easy access to the coastal towns of West Bay, Lyme Regis and Weymouth and lots of pubs that serve food and are dog friendly.

We enjoyed the delicious chocolate cake ,the sausages and the bacon.

Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing and was well situated for shops and places of interest.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.

This is a lovely cottage, set in a beautiful location.

The owners - who live next door - are extremely friendly, sociable and helpful. Everything has been considered that you could possibly need in the cottage. It is very well equipped and extremely clean. The kitchen is spacious making it comfortable to prepare meals. The beds are comfortable and there is a lot of storage space in both. We all slept very well. The one and only thing I might say is that the sofas in the sitting room are a bit tired and saggy. However, it would not stop me returning or recommending this lovely cottage that is excellently looked after by its two fine owners. They care about making sure you are comfortable and happy during your stay and that was very much appreciated by us all.

We have had a thoroughly enjoyable week staying with our little dog at this lovely, comfortable cottage with a dog proof garden and a field to walk around.

. It is very conveniently situated for Bridport and West Bay with a super farm shop a mile away. Plenty of places to visit all within a few miles from seaside resorts to stately house and gardens. Steve and Chris proved to be genial owners handily living next door. Highly recommended.

What a glorious cottage.

Truly the best we have had with Sykes, and we've had a fair few!! Everything was perfect including the weather. Chrissie and Steve were perfect hosts and very dog friendly. Definitely be back. Glorious countryside.

Despite changeable weather we have just enjoyed a very enjoyable week at this spacious, ground level well appointed property.

Enjoying coffee and cake, while our two mini labradoodles investigated the enclosed rear patio area, my wife’s comment was “ it’s lovely, spotlessly clean, comfortable and has got everything we will need”. To make sure we didn’t go short Steve’s home made sausages, bacon and new laid eggs made a welcome breakfast. Located down a quiet country lane about 1 1/2 miles North of Bridport there is plenty of off road parking alongside the house with no disturbance from the road .. or the owners who were always available without any intrusion. There lots of walks to enjoy, Bridport has four supermarkets, a weekly market, good dog friendly cafes and inns serving excellent food - The Half Moon and Tea Traders cafe in Beaminster are worth a visit. West Bay is lively, on a wet day the dog friendly garden centre with large cafe is welcoming and further afield the amazing Beer Quarry Caves (dog friendly) are well worth a visit. With out any reservations we can highly recommend this property and intend to return ourselves, hopefully next year.

A first class cottage with quality furnishings which was spotlessly clean.

The owners had provided a lovely home made chocolate cake and milk to start us off and were very pleasant and helpful. The cottage is in an ideal situation with easy access to Bridport, West Bay and other coastal towns whilst being set in a peaceful and lovely spot. Thank you Stephen and Chrissie we shall be back.

Lovely country cottage equipped with everything you could possibly want. Very comfortable beds, bedding and towels very clean and fresh. Our dog enjoyed her walks in the large field at the rear and was very settled. Highly recommend.

The property is Spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. It has lovely gardens and a field you can stretch your legs in. Nothing is too much trouble. The property is ideally suited for visiting the nearby Coastal beaches of Lyme Regis, Burton Bradstock, Charmouth and West Bay. We enjoyed many hours on the beach fossil hunting. From the warm welcome on arrival to the moment we left, we were delighted with our comfortable holiday home.

Every care was taken to ensure we had the best holiday in Dorset. Exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything needed for a perfect break. Our dog even had a huge field next door for his morning & evening walk. Our generous hosts treated us to some super ‘extras’ which were much appreciated. The cottage is so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside yet a short drive into Bridport & West Bay. Highly recommended!

The cottage is so very well equipped & we wanted for nothing. Made very welcome by the owners,Steve & Chrissy & of course by their gorgeous pooches Grace & Ruby. Ideally situated to explore the Dorset coast,which we did. Found lovely farm shops to buy local produce & plenty of dog friendly pubs for meals & refreshments. Highly recommended.

Perfect cottage for dogs with tiled entrances and kitchen, and a small enclosed outside area which opens onto a large field. Quiet location but close to Bridport, a farm shop, the beach and many walks. Cottage spotless and comfortable. So much to do we have been twice in 5 months. My wife and I had a wonderful weeks stay.

The pictures don’t do justice to the location of this wonderful place. The kitchen is so well stocked and it’s so clean throughout the cottage. We will look to stay again when we return to the area. Also the fresh breakfast ingredients for our first morning by the lovely hosts was brilliant.

A very comfortable spacious well equipped cottage in a quiet rural location with good walking from the cottage.

The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The cake and breakfast goodies were delicious. We were very happy, and our dog loved the field behind the cottage for quick walks, and the company of the resident dog. The nearby farm shop and cafe selling a wide range of good foods is an added bonus. Thank you.

This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in.

Lovely and comfortable and well furnished and equipped. Fully enclosed outside area for the dog, or children, and use of a large paddock too. The owners live next door and offer homemade sausages and bacon which were delicious for breakfast. The hens provided fresh eggs too! Loved sitting in the conservatory overlooking the garden and watching the doves fly round. Bridport a short distance away and within easy reach of lots of Dorset delights - seaside or countryside. We certainly hope to go again.

Well situated in the quiet of the countryside yet close to the beaches at Burton Bradstock and West Bay.

We were grateful for the cake, milk and eggs and found the owners very friendly. Would definitely recommend to others.

This was our 3rd stay at Grazelands and once again the cottage was perfect for us.

You couldn't ask for friendlier hosts, the place was immaculate and well equipped as always and the outside space just lovely. Such a peaceful spot yet close enough to Lyme Regis, West Bay and Burton Bradstock for easy days out on the beach and just 5 minutes from Bridport high street. Lovely space inside the cottage for everyone to spread out if they want to; I think the conservatory is particularly nice. We will be back next year I'm sure.

The Hosts, Steve and Chris were wonderful - charming, generous and very helpful.

The accommodation was perfect and very homely - not lacking in any home comforts. The use of their paddock was also wonderful for our two dogs.Poppy loved sniffing and looking for the resident cats - who were well chilled and just wondered what all the fuss was about. Their two dogs Grace (laid back and friendly) and Ruby (likes to bark) are very sociable and came to greet us every day. Finally, the Dorset area and coastline is stunning - what's not to love!!

Great holiday cottage even in the middle of winter.

House is brilliantly equipped with everything we needed for a long break before moving to our new house. Steve and Chrissie were really helpful, funny and friendly - with obvious social distancing in mind. The homemade bacon, sausage and eggs were a lovely treat. The house is immaculately clean, warm and level, with easy access to all rooms, especially for older guests. The paddock at the back was brilliant for exercising the dog. And the wildlife was great to see. Easy access to Bridport for shopping and the countryside is beautiful here. We didn’t want super fast internet or phone signal but still managed to get Netflix and prime down on a fire stick easily. A lovely place to stay. Would recommend any time and hope to come back soon.

A superbly equipped cottage.

I thought it had everything. When I 'phoned I had to ask about Microwave as it was not listed (but it was provided). Good thing I took my own washing up brush & steel pan scourer; they only had a soft pad. Otherwise, everything was of a superb standard. The sun lounge was glorious. (Maybe a radio that could be used in the kitchen & sun lounge would have been nice). Used T.V. in lounge. WiFi signal excellent. (Poor mobile 'phone - on my network). I would be much easier if a N.G.R. (National Grid Reference) had been quoted; much easier than following directions. (I gave them their reference for future use.)

Booked at very last minute for a short break both Sykes and the owners of the cottage were every accommodating to have us book swiftly and arrive the next day.

The cottage well its truly amazing, let me start with location set outside of Bridport in the countryside about 10 mins drive from West Bay which is perfect for a quiet getaway and close enough to the coast to explore. The owners Steve and Chris are lovely and nothing is too much trouble, their dogs are also super friendly and wish we could have brought Grace home!. The cottage itself was a perfect mix of olde world charm with every mod con you could wish for particularly in the kitchen and absolutely spotless (thanks Chris). All on one floor which is great for elderly with two good size bedrooms (one with ensuite) a beautiful bathroom. We ate in as we have a quite a big dog who is perhaps not pub friendly . Great outside space with access to huge field to walk your dog, to step outside and hear the cows mooing and chickens clucking a real outdoor experience if like us you are townies who dont get out much!. Personally i loved sitting in the conservatory unwinding on a sunny afternoon in a peaceful environment away from it all. I can honestly say they have thought of everything and the additional bonus of Steve bringing us home cured products, fresh eggs and tomatoes for our breakfast, well what more could you want oh and not forgetting the welcome cake. We would love to return to this cottage for longer and explore the beautiful area

Our week at Grazelands was nothing short of perfect.

Steve and Christine were wonderful hosts and the property was exactly as per the listing, spacious and spotlessly clean. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. Steve also kindly offered us some of his home cured bacon, homemade sausages and fresh eggs from the chickens, which went down a treat. The property is slightly outside Bridport which meant it was lovely and peaceful with only the sounds of nature to be heard when sat in the garden. An easy drive into the town and equally easy to get to places such as Lyme Regis and Charmouth. Grace, Ruby and Billy (the resident dogs) were all very friendly and mixed well with our own dog. It was a pleasure to stay here and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anybody.

Lovely cottage in quiet but convenient location with just about everything you could need.

Hosts very friendly and generous. Only two issues to consider: they have two very inquisitive dogs, which was fine for us as we had our two with us. If you don’t love dogs, be aware of this. Other issue is main bedroom curtains which are very thin and lightweight. If you need a decent amount of dark to sleep past dawn, you’ll be awake before 5.00am every morning! Otherwise, perfect in almost every way!

It was a very comfortable and relaxing cottage, particularly considering that we were semi isolated in this property most of the week due to following the HMG coronavirus advice.

The conservatory had pleasant views and it was entertaining watching the birds on the owners bird feeders. The nearby farm shop was well stocked with a good range of food. The owner was very helpful. Given that the break planned was at short notice, we knew finding the right destination might not be straightforward.

Our first pick could not accommodate the short notification but a team member from Sykes rang back to see if any of the options e-mailed earlier would suit. Although none did, the eventual destination for our holiday was perfect. The accommodation was comfortable and relaxing and the welcome warm, both in the cottage and from the owner. It was honestly one of the best destinations in several years and whilst it was only a short break, we will be returning next year if we are lucky, to book this lovely cottage again.

Grazeland is a very well equipped property, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

We particularly liked the conservatory which was a good place to enjoy afternoon coffee. The owners are very friendly and live in another part of the property so are on-hand if there are any problems. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Grazeland cottage was comfortable and very well equipped although wifi was pretty sketchy.

It is close to Bridport which has all the amenities you want and is a great location for exploring south west dorset. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

The hosts were very welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed.

Grazeland Cottage is a wonderful place to stay in the countryside but close to a town (Bridport) We were a party of 3 pensioners with a small dog and being on one level suited us perfectly.

It is the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. The beds were very comfy and all furniture, fittings etc were of a high calibre. Steve was very friendly and available for any queries. He makes wonderful sausages and bacon and gave us free samples when we arrived. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return one day.

There is nothing that you can fault about our stay The cottage has everything you need and more Steve and Chris (the owners) really looked after us and treated us like family.

The cottage is ideal: attractive, well-furnished, all kitchen equipment that could be required (except a tea cosy)is to hand. The bedrooms well-appointed and the beds & bedding just right for the grotty weather we had - they didn't encourage us to "get-up-& go". The garden is very attractive, well laid out & maintained. Our hosts were welcoming, helpful & understanding.....it wasn't their fault that the promised eggs failed to materialise. Altogether we made a good choice! How pleasant it is to be woken by a cockerel.

we arrived a little early and were met by Steve the owner who informed us cleaning was still occurring but invited us into his home , where he gave us a drink and chatted about the local area explaining what was on and how to get about. He made us feel like we were visiting family not hiring his cottage. Once ready he showed us into the cottage and explained how to use the heating etc. he told us if we wanted fresh veg from his planters or greenhouse to help ourselves and would drop some fresh eggs in from his hens later , which he did. This cottage is in the countryside and so relaxing as you only hear the sounds of the great outdoors and no traffic sounds. Steve is an excellent host/ landlord as he is friendly , unassuming and down to earth. Stayed August 2015

Absolutely perfect place to stay. Hosts were on hand should any question relating to the area/restaurants be sought but were never intrusive. Very quiet house with delightful garden full of wildlife and excellent suitable chairs for more elderly persons to enjoy the wonderful conservatory, a delight even on the drizzly moments. The house was very well equipped with everything all in very good order. Decoration, information and facilities within the property were fully as described. Whilst Grazeland Cottage was not our first choice, it far exceeded our expectations and we were glad that we hadn't been able to have the apartment in Bridport (to sleep 2) that we had originally booked. The cottage was amazing. Extremely spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. I have never before stayed in accommodation where the kitchen boasts 4 measuring jugs! All the appliances were top quality and immaculately clean. The owners next door couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The location was superb, very peaceful and very dog friendly. My daughter and partner and their dog joined us mid-week and their spaniel was happy to sleep in the back lobby, connected to the kitchen by a stable door - most useful. Grazeland is a spacious well appointed cottage with an extensively equipped kitchen. The owners are very friendly and live attached. For dog owners the wide tiled floor in the hall, which runs from the front door to the back door, is excellent for getting wet dogs in and out. The owners field is also extremely useful for the early morning / late night dog walk. For those times when you wish to relax in the cottage the conservatory is just the place to be. We have just returned from a lovely week spent at Grazeland cottage the 2nd time we have visited. The cottage is very well equipped and furnished, decorated to a high standard throughout. It is set in very well maintained gardens and an enclosed fenced patio area at the rear of the property with a gate leading to a large field ideal for walking the dog, our Greyhound loved it. At the front of the property is a spacious conservatory ideal for relaxing in and watching the wildlife in the evening. We were met on arrival by Steve who welcomed us and is very friendly and informative. A lovely surprise was milk in the fridge and cakes also Steve treated us to fresh eggs from his chickens along with sausages and bacon! The cottage is only a couple of miles away from Bridport which is a lovely market town with many independent shops, good pubs and cafes many are dog friendly which was great. Only a short drive to the coastal villages and only slightly further to The Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth which is a lovely day out. We had a lovely stay and our greyhound enjoyed it too. We are already planning our third visit hopefully later this year - stayed June 2017

Great service. The cottage was lovely: Refurbished to a high standard, cosy, fully equipped and extremely clean. It provided a great location to explore and unwind.
