We stayed at mermaid 4th September for 1 week, I know it has new owners and there are probably ongoing improvements to the house, the toilets do not flush very good, also probably need something to hold on to in the bath/shower because different to get out, plus very warm in bedrooms could have done with a fan, but the beds are very comfortable, lots of space in living room and nice kitchen, but do not like the 5pm book in, I day of your holiday has gone wish it was back to 3pm, I do love coming ...

The property

A three bed end terraced house situated in the popular Maltings development, Weymouth.

This pretty pink end terraced property provides the ideal base for your Weymouth holiday.

You will be able to kick back and relax on the comfortable leather sofas in the sitting room or on a warm evening relax in the enclosed garden enjoying a cooling drink.

The house is a five minute walk from Weymouth harbour and Hope Square.

Where you will find restaurants and pubs to tempt your tastebuds with local fish delicacies.

The walk from The Maltings along the coast path to the Nothe Fort or the ruined castle at Sandsfoot is very invigorating.

Secret rock pools found at nearby Newton's Cove capture the imagination of young and old alike.

For the less energetic the coastline offers benches where you may sit and read the days newspaper or just look across the bay to Portland.

The golden sands at Weymouth about are a 10 minute walk along the busy harbour.

Maybe you wish to explore further afield why not take a trip on the ‘Coaster’ bus to Abbotsbury or Lyme Regis.

Stopping for Dorset ice cream on the way.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
