Beautiful cottage, very comfortable with a lovely attention to detail; it felt homely and welcoming.

We were given a warm welcome and shown around with some great tips for things to do and places to eat. The Thimble Inn, a 10minute walk away, is fantastic.

Excellent property with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The private patio served us well after a day out . We loved the inverted living with the bedrooms downstairs. Emma and Andrew were lovely hosts and were there if needed. We would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful place very clean and very quiet

Beautifully situated house in rural picturesque area.

A little off the beaten track but a perfect retreat. Well equipped and presented with comfortable bed/bedding, fitted kitchen, comfy sofas and chairs. Outside courtyard/garden area with furniture and parasol is a definite hot spot (we were there end May during heatwave). Downstairs is the sleeping area and is very cool which was great during the hot nights. WiFi is very good and TV easy to use. Small welcome hamper on arrival. Andy & Emma very friendly. Sadly the local shop has closed so a few “self catering supplies” maybe advise able to take to tide you over first day or so but good access to shopping areas within 5-7 miles. Local pub within walking distance and food is good.

It has everything you could wish for. It’s perfectly placed to get to all parts of Dorset. The owners were so helpful and full of information. We would certainly stay there again.

Very comfortable and in an excellent location in mid Dorset.

Good footpaths around it. Well furnished and useful, well-sheltered terrace. Well designed kitchen but no cafetière or washing-up brush. Realise it is plastic free, which is good, but perhaps that ought to be listed in details.

We stayed at The Coach House as a family of three for the first time and we were delighted with it.

Will definitely be back. The cottage is located in a delightful and tranquil setting located close to a bridle track that leads to a local pub and walks beyond that. I particularly liked the elevation over a filed, watching Egyptian Geese and wild rabbits graze. We could hear a Tawny Owl early one morning. The cottage beds are so comfy and the cottage as a whole is a homely and light, a very relaxing place to stay but with all of Dorset at your feet to explore. We loved every day at this beautiful place.

The owner Emma met us on arrival and lives next door. The property is as described and very comfortable, and is located in a good central Dorset location. The South facing private garden is an added bonus. We appreciated the welcome pack especially the home made jam

A most enjoyable stay .

The cottage was perfect , comfortable very clean and situated in a lovely quiet part of the village. A word of advice for the older generation the cottage is ground floor bedrooms and living quarters are up a short flight of stairs that was no problem for my wife and me even though we are in our late eighties . A small hiccup on arrival with the front door lock but very quickly sorted by Emma the owner. Beds to die for !! Gordon Hill

An absolutely stunning property, one of the best we have visited!

Beautifully presented, spacious and comfortable and decorated to a high standard. The owner was very friendly and helpful and added to the enjoyment of our stay.

The Coach House is set in a peaceful rural location, with easy access to everywhere we wanted to visit.

Our hosts were welcoming and on hand if needed. The cottage has been tastefully renovated and really feels like a home - not a holiday let. Well equipped with everything you could need and lots of personal touches. Beds are really comfortable and the private outside terrace is a real sun trap to enjoy breakfast or dine al fresco.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Coach House which provided the ideal peaceful location for exploring the local area.

The facilities are excellent with great attention given to providing comfortable well equipped surroundings. Emma gave us a warm greeting when we arrived and gave us a good explanation of everything we needed to know including details of local attractions and places to eat. A memorable experience. Every single aspect is beautifully thought out, high quality and spotlessly clean. We loved the welcome gifts and Emma and Andy were so friendly and helpful with ideas for places to visit and eat. A really comfortable place to stay. Our host Emma was lovely and made us feel very welcome. We were very fortunate to have great weather during our visit and made the most of the patio area, which is a real sun trap. The area is really good for walks and visiting local attractions. We loved The CoachHouse and the owner, who greeted us was very pleasant and helpful.

The standard of accommodation was very good- very well thought through. My only comment would be that the directions to the property were confusing and led us astray, so maybe a look at that would be a good idea.

What a gem of a property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our pre-Christmas getaway at The Coach House. The Christmas tree and Christmas treats were a lovely additional, as well as the infamous homemade blueberry jam of course! The property itself is simply lovely, beautifully decorated by Emma. You really have made it a home from home. Brilliant communication as well from Emma, nothing was ever a problem if we had to message. This really is one of the best properties we’ve had the pleasure of staying in. We will definitely be back! The cottage was just as described.

Very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Emma gave us a warm welcome, and was keen to ensure everything was ok. Not great weather, but I’m sure that in spring/summer it will be lovely to sit out on the enclosed terrace in the sun.

Such a pretty cottage and perfect for Christmas time, with a sweet Christmas tree and log fire. There are lovely little touches that are really special. It's beautifully decorated and immaculate. White Lackington is lovely and quiet with good local walks and a nice pub you can get to through the fields.

Fabulous gem, off the beaten path but very well suited for our visit to Dorset.

Clean, very comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of blankets and games to rest by the fire. From this location we saw Durdle Door, Portland, Old Bill of Portland, Tank Museum, went clay pigeon shooting in Purbeck, visited Weymouth and Nothe Fort, had a Land Rover 'Safari' tour on the Isle of Purbeck and enjoyed a lovely meal at The Thimble Inn. A stunning cottage which has everything needed to make for a highly enjoyable stay.

The owners are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive - the cottage is very private. It is spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standards, with high quality furnishings and equipment. It is also very quiet. Within easy reach of many attractions as well as coastal walks, it makes for a great place for a holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Lots to do in and around the area. If your into golf try Sherborne GC nice course and friendly club. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

This is a lovely place to stay in quiet, peaceful surroundings.

Emma was there to greet us when we arrived and there was a welcome pack in the kitchen. There is a great village pub half a mile down the road that serves excellent food. Burton Bradstock is a really nice seaside village 20 miles away. We would love to stay here again, cannot fault in any way.

Very practical and delicious 'Welcome Tray' with lovely cake and local honey. Enjoyed the patio with comfortable seats/cushions. Very clean, parking excellent right outside the door and location good for visiting local area attractions. Owners friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The Thimble is a popular good pub serving food within walking distance.

The Coach House at Lackington Farm is set in countryside so perfect it makes normal rural settings look untidy and dull, not a blade of grass out of place.

The house itself matches this incredible scenery and makes you feel right at home. The accommodation, though compact but not small, works incredibly well and provides a comfortable and central base from which to explore the surrounding area. We were impressed with the roads giving easy access whether it's Cerne Abbas, Sherbourne or Dorchester, Weymouth and many other destinations within a 30 minutes drive; the Tank Museum is a real blast. Anyway, The Coach House is highly recommended and we thank Emma, who has an eye for the details that makes you feels spoilt and is all the difference between a great holiday and one that is molto bellissimo.

The Coach House at Lackington Farm is perfect!

Everything is of an extremely high quality including all the soft furnishings and added extras that some holiday cottages lack. There is everything you need for a very comfortable holiday. The bonus for us was the solitude, the only sound we heard were the sheep in the field! It is perfectly situated for the Jurassic coast and also many lovely towns like Dorchester and Sherborne. We met Emma who owns the property with her husband Andrew and she couldn't have been more helpful. The blueberry jam they make is amazing. All in all the best place we've ever stayed and will definitely stay there again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The property is situated in a lovely peaceful village setting with easy road access to inland locations of interest and magnificent coastline attractions nearby.

The owners who live on-site were very pleasant and welcoming and presented the property in perfect condition and very well stocked....a real home from home in terms of comfort and quality. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to book again if re-visiting the Dorset area.

The Coach House is very elegant, unusual and comfortably furnished - just as described at Sykes Cottages.

You can spend pleasant hours on the sun terrace. The location is ideal for exploring the sightseeings of Dorset including the Jurassic Coast. A cottage that leaves almost nothing to be desired. For visitors from overseas, it would be perfect if the kitchen had little things like a little vinegar and oil or kitchen roll - everything that is difficult to transport by plane and cannot be bought in small quantities.

The Coach House at Lackington Farm is a real gem.

The cottage is immaculately presented, and set in a beautiful part of Dorset, in the village of Piddletrenthide. There are lots of places to visit within a short drive, such as Weymouth, Sherborne , Lyme Regis & Dorchester. All are worth a visit. The hosts, Emma & Andy are so friendly, and make you feel right at home. All the furniture and fittings are top-notch, and the cottage is scrupulously clean. The local pub ( about a mile down the road) is second to none, and does great food. It is a thatched building, and is so picturesque. It also has a beer garden, and an excellent selection of ales. A visit here is a must. This was our second visit, and before leaving we re-booked for next year! Would thoroughly recommend this property. Fabulous! Gary & Julie Watson.

An absolutely beautiful cottage which is like a home from home.

It has everything you need and is in a perfect spot for peace and relaxation but also close enough to access for all that Dorset has to offer.

This was our second stay at The Coach House, and still perfect as the first time.

The accommodation has everything you need ,plus the added extra's left out for our arrival, (much appreciated) for a wonderful relaxing time Emma and Andy were great hosts. We will return.

The location is great - only about 10 minutes from Dorchester and 30 from Weymouth, so perfect for exploring. A brilliant local pub is also an excellent bonus! Thanks for a lovely week!

A beautifully maintained property with comfy beds and a friendly owner.

Perfectly located to see all the wonderful things Dorset has to offer with the bonus of an excellent pub just down the road. The kitchen was well equipped for self catering and the welcome hamper meant we didn't need to head out for the essentials on the first night. The sofas were comfy and the log burner made for cosy evenings. The little touches - maps, books of walks, blankets, picnic hamper meant you felt like you were really being spoilt. The only slight negative for us was the shower, which wasn't as powerful as we'd like - being in a hard water area I can imagine this is a never ending battle with limescale. We mentioned it to Emma on leaving the property and I'm sure it will be descaled for the next guests. Thank you Emma for being so welcoming, we'd love to return.

Emma greeted us with a warm welcome and showed us all the Coach House had to offer The personal touches of a Christmas tree, home made Christmas cake, home made blackberry jam (both delicious), tin of tea, chocolates and a pint of milk in the fridge was an excellent start our stay There was a folder with all the information needed to operate all the different gadgets and recommendations of places to visit and eat out which was useful The Coach House was tastefully decorated and the kitchen was fitted out with high quality equipment We really enjoyed relaxing in front of the log burner after being blown about in the gales and rain that we experienced, but that was soon forgotten in the cosy environment Due to the inclement weather we were unable to enjoy the outside sitting area which was a shame as it would have been great to have star watched in the lovely space We appreciated the large soft fluffy Egyptian towels that had been left for us to use And we liked the quirkiness of the upside down house where we went downstairs to bed which we found to be comfortable We even were treated to an owl hooting to us one morning - which was fab to hear Thank you Emma The Coach House was perfect for our stay And we would recommend a visit to the beautiful Dorset and the cosy welcoming Coach House at Lackington Farm

The cottage is beautiful with every attention to detail; comfy beds and sofas, well equipped kitchen with beautiful crockery, wood burner, cosy blankets. There is a beautiful uncluttered simplicity to the house. We appreciated the many thoughtful touches including the arrival treats. Emma let us know that she was available if we had any needs and she and her family welcomed us warmly. It is a peaceful location with lovely walks from the front door. We loved hearing the sound of the tawny owl in the tree outside our bedrooms at night. My only advice is to bring wellies if visiting at this time of year. The area was wet and muddy but for us that only only added to the fun! Highly recommend this place and the award they have won is well deserved. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The Coach house has everything you need for a comfy stay. Well equipped kitchen, including cleaning products and plenty of cooking equipment and all important a good quality cooker/hob and washer/drier. Comfy sofas in the living room/dining room and more importantly comfy beds! Plenty of towels in the shower room, and all the little extras. Plenty of outdoor seating, if you get good weather! Will definitely be re visiting.

It was a perfect location for our first visit to Dorset. We loved how it was decorated and furnished; it made our stay very comfortable and relaxed.

A delightful stay in this beautiful, quiet, comfortable location.

The property is in an excellent location, both tranquil and peaceful but near enough to amenities that you may need during your holiday. The Coach House exceeded our expectations from the old to the new. It was very comfortable clean, well equipped. Well presented with little touches like the welcome tray on arrival which after along drive was well received. Emma the host was very warm and welcoming and the information pack was very detailed, with lots of recommendations to visit and eat. Fully recommend The Thimble Inn for ambience, character and charm. A fabulous menu catering for all palettes and the staff were amazing. This was our first visit to Dorset and we will definitely be returning and hope to stay again soon.

The Coach House in Piddletrenthide, Dorset, is an immaculately presented cottage in a superb location.

The facilities are excellent, and beautifully clean. The private on-site parking space is a real bonus. The hosts, Emma & Andy are very welcoming, and make you feel at home. There are so many great places to visit in the vicinity, without travelling too far. The Thimble Inn in the village is amazing. The location is spectacular, beautiful countryside and lovely walks on your doorstep. The outside area of the cottage is very private and comfortable and so quiet, we were lucky with the weather so took advantage. We would highly recommend a stay at the Coach House and we are looking forward to a return visit in 2024.

Lovely property and location.

Every aspect from the Coach House to the owners Emma & Andy was total satisfaction regarding our stay. Cannot imagine anyone would be unhappy after a vacation here. We very much enjoyed our weeks stay and highly recommend this place to everyone.

The coach house is a beautifully appointed home from home set in idyllic surroundings with only the bird song to disturb your peace.

Emma and Andy were perfect hosts and couldn’t have been kinder or more willing to help if we needed it. The weather wasn’t all that good whilst we were there, but on a couple of days we were actually content just to chill out, eat, read, and watch tv. The private patio at the back was wonderful - I’m only sad that we didn’t get to use it! Came home feeling thoroughly refreshed. Can highly recommend this holiday home.

The Coach House is in a great location amongst rolling countryside offering peace and tranquillity.

Emma is a friendly, helpful hostess. The property has just been completely renovated and is extremely comfortable making it one of the best self catering places I have stayed in. The surrounding area offers much in the way of walks, antiques fairs, houses and gardens to visit plus proximity to the beautiful, dramatic Jurassic coastline. You will not be disappointed.

I had a very enjoyable week at the 'upside-down' Coach House.

The house is nicely kitted out, with comfortable sofas and beds and everything you need for a relaxing break. There are footpaths and bridleways close by and good walking routes in the guide left by the owners. Cerne Abbas is not far away and has a well-stocked shop. A great place to stay!

The Coach House is situated in a beautiful and quiet little hamlet with The Thimble Inn within walking distance that serves excellent food. The Coach House location is close to many great attractions. In fact too many to do in a week so a return is a must.

The Coach House is absolutely superb for a quiet country retreat.

Emma is a warm and welcoming host and has provided for her guests facilities that are top quality and luxurious. The cottage includes a terrace that is secluded and restful and the stroll to The Thimble and the village is beautiful. Piddletrenthide still has the Dorset village feel - something that is increasingly rare. The Coach House is the perfect haven for getting away from it all, yet is central to the glories that Dorset has to offer. We cannot rate it highly enough.

The owners have made it very comfortable for clients and Emma provides a very personable service and is close at hand if you need anything . Lovely old Coachhouse renovated to a very high standard and well worth the rental cost , even in the high season.

What an absolute gem of a find - The Coach House has everything you could need on holiday.

The house itself was beautiful, clean and tidy and such a relaxing place to finish a days exploring (especially on the sun trap patio with a cold glass of wine!). The location is absolutely perfect whether it’s for beach days or for walking and exploring towns. The finishing touches at the cottage added that extra something to our stay. Emma, Andy and Frazer could not have been more welcoming or helpful with places to visit. We really didn’t want to leave, and hope to be back in the future! Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing holiday.

The cottage was exactly as described - tastefully furnished, very well equipped and immaculately clean.

Very peaceful location but well placed for visiting local attractions. Excellent local pub serving good food only a 15 minute stroll away. Emma and Andrew were friendly and welcoming hosts. Thank for a very memorable holiday.

The property was perfect.

We enjoyed a lovely week and was impressed by the overall cleanliness and attention to detail to ensure our comfort. We particularly appreciated the bedrooms being on the lower floor as during our stay we were fortunate to have hot sunshine the whole time and the bedroom was really cool and comfortable whilst being able to appreciate the view from the living room and enjoy sitting out on the patio. Lovely quiet location with walks to the local pub. Ideally situated for sightseeing too. Thank you to Emma and family for ensuring our stay was perfect.

The cottage feels relaxing and tranquil, and the attention to detail and finishing touches made it feel like a home from home. It is a short drive from many attractions, and a good base for relaxing in the cosy living room or courtyard garden.

Superb standard of accommodation and facilities within a quiet countryside location but within easy reach of coastal attractions.

Outstanding accommodation in a beautiful and peaceful setting,but still in easy reach of all the local amenities and sites.
