The Nightingale

Great location only a 5 minute walk to the harbour where you can find lovely pubs like the Red Lion where the food is amazing, it was such a bonus to have private parking as it's very costly and busy to park in Weymouth, this meant we could go out for the day to Durdle Door in the car and not worry about parking when we returned, the house is small but it was fine for the two of us and the dog for a week, having the garden was such a bonus to sit out and eat dinner on nights we didn't want to go out as it can become expensive eating out every night Overall a smashing property we will definitely be booking again.

The property is just lovely.

It was mostly clean, with comfortable furniture, and a well equipped kitchen. I didn't like the washing up liquid in a tiny plastic tube. A large bottle would be much better for the environment. The shower was a treat as it worked very well. The bathroom sink needed a good clean. The beds were very comfortable and the built in fans in the bedrooms was very welcome! The garden was really lovely, but the low fence made it not secure for some dogs. The parking space was a great bonus. We would definitely come back.

What a lovely place to stay.

On arrival we felt at home straight away. It as great to be only approx 8min walk from the harbour and 10-15 into the town and seafront. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family. Also possibly going back in 2028.

The cottage was very clean and everything you need for your stay is provided, only a short walk from the the habour and town and very dog friendly enclosed garden, we will will definitely be back

a very well maintained and updated property with eveything you needed in it with in easy walking distance to weymouth beach and shops and a short walk from the house a place to walk and exercise your dog and great views over the sea and a walk to gardens and to nothe forts

This was our second stay at this property and we will definitely be back again!

Gorgeous house in fabulous location, beautifully styled and decorated with a really warm homely feel, plus the garden is brilliant for the dog. Highly recommend this property.

A beautiful property, brilliantly located for Weymouth harbour, town and beach.

Everything was walking distance. Very clean homely environment with everything you could ask for provided Will definitely recommend and will look to book again.

We enjoyed our time at the nightingale, situated in a quiet area of the town, just 10min walk to the centre.

The beds were very comfortable, very clean throughout, nice enclosed area at the back for the dog. The only fault we found was the freezer set to low a tub of ice cream came out like a ice cube.

We had an issue on out second night - water leak from shower but this was sorted the next day to everyone's satisfaction.

Acommodation has everything you need but an empty cupboard would be nice to be able to store on food - cans, sauces etc.

Excellent accommodation , very close to Weymouth.

Very clean with excellent comfy beds. Good enclosed garden for dogs. Parking space a bonus!

A compact, cosy and very well thought out holiday home.

The location and parking space were both perfect for our needs. We loved being able to access green spaces, sea views and Brewers Quay within a short walk. Slight issues were dustiness in places and the vinyl strips stuck on the bathroom door falling off. We would definitely return!

Lovely, clean and bright house.

Great location, parking right next to the house really handy, dog loved having a nice lawn. Will happily book again.

Lovely place to stay , couple of minutes walk to the harbour , ideal for a small family with a dog , nice dog walk area close by .

Only critique the bathroom shower needs a hand rail otherwise excellent

We absolutely loved this property and it had everything we needed and was so compractical and close to harbour.

The beds were super comfortable, such a beautiful place. Just 3 points let this property down for us. Lots of Dog hairs left on the stairs, and the couch smells of dog, also the outdoor table had not been cleaned at all so we didn’t use. But we would definitely stay here again as the above mentioned were only small details.

Very nice property in an excellent location.

The house had everything that we needed and was clean, tidy and well maintained. Will definitely stay here again when we next visit.

Good for access to town and beaches whilst being on a quiet cul de sac. We had a lovely stay.

A lovely holiday home with everything we needed.

Property is in lovely quiet location near to harbour, pubs and shops, with lots of lovely walks in the area. Free allocated parking was a bonus. Lovely garden and our dog loved it and was very safe. Only 3 negatives, the large bedroom door would not close tight and kept opening, the bathroom door did not have a lock on it (no privacy) and the front door needs a handrail as the steps are quite high especially for an older person. Overall a very nice place to stay and highly recommended.

Fabulous little house.

Home from home. Lovely quiet area. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Everything in the kitchen that you could possibly need. Lovely back garden. Parking at the side of the house was a huge bonus. Walking distance to everything. No need to use car, unless going on a day trip out of Weymouth. Just one tiny suggestion, the front door could do with having a little handrail to make it safer for getting in and out of house.. Will most definitely stay again.

Absolutely loved this little house!

Just back from a week's stay and it's got to be the loveliest place we have stayed in Weymouth! The decor is beautiful and a lot of it upcycled and really cleverly done. Can't say enough about this place, own parking space, quiet little cul de sac, 5 minutes walk to the harbour, lovely large garden for our very happy dog! Beds comfy, lovely and clean, can't wait to come back!

Lovely house in perfect location to amenities, beach and town. Owner has put a lot of love and care into the property and the beautiful garden, very peaceful and sunny spot to sit and enjoy. Nothing to fault, will definitely be back for another stay. Highly recommend.

The Nightingale was perfect, it was clean and close to all amenities.

The garden was lovely and the car parking space was an added bonus. As we were bringing along the Grandchildren it would have been nice if there had been a few family orientated games but otherwise I would definitely book the Nightingale again.

Would book again. One suggestion would be to add appliance instructions to the pack other than that all was perfect

Loved our stay.

Place was spotless, very well equipped and the dog loved the garden. We're already booked to be back in October and hoping to be booking again soon for next year.

This holiday let is one if the best we've stayed in, equipped with everything you need and with comfortable beds and sofa, it was just right.

It is a compact but well thought out and has a parking space and the surrounding estate is quiet. The location is a short walk to the harbour and centre if Weymouth. I'd definitely recommend.

We had a brilliant stay at The Nightingale!

The house was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished, with a lovely dog friendly garden. It was just a short walk down to the harbour and a little further on to the town centre and train station. This was one of the nicest holiday cottages that we have stayed in and we will definitely be visiting again later in the year.

We had a lovely stay at this comfortable house. Short walk into Weymouth or along the coast to Nothe fort and gardens. Good location for dog walking. Home from home environment with everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

Lovely property , really cleverly renovated and a nice sized , clean & tidy back garden.

There has obviously been a lot of thought gone into this house. We have stayed in many Sykes/Dream Cottages properties in Weymouth over many years I can honestly say this is definitely one of the very best.

What we read about the property before our stay was exactly what we found.

Very well presented & well looked after, the garden was ideal for our dog(Bella) also. The only thing we found it needs is a anti shower floor slip mat we both found it gets very slippery when getting out. For a location to gain easy access to walks/shops/beaches/pubs/restaurants you can't go wrong. Lots of places to visit within the area a short car ride away. If you don't want to use the car & just want to walk all you need to do is open the front door & your on the coast paths. Newton's Cove / Castle Cove / Sandsfoot Beach all close by quiet lovely for the dog to run around on.

Beautiful cosy home that is in a perfect location within walking distance to lots of lovely shops, pubs and restaurants.

Great sized garden for the dog. Would definitely stay again.

What a wonderful little cottage the nightingale is.

.we have stayed in many cottages around the maltings area over the years and the nightingale is by far the best…very clean and cosy, we felt at home from the first day..everything we could possibly need was there and the dog loved the large garden..also being able to park right next to the cottage was a big plus for us..next time we’re in Weymouth, will definitely be back..thanks again for a lovely relaxing week…

Lovely property, would definitely stay there again

We had a lovely two weeks in the nightingale, it had almost everything you needed, except there was no casoral dishes for cooking and no toast rack, we also reported that the extraction fan over the cooker was making a terrible noise, on the day we arrived, so we were unable to use it for our stay, we reported it to Sykes cottage did not get a reply, other than that we had a great stay here.

The Nightingale is a lovely little house and very well located.

It took us about 10 minutes to walk from it into Weymouth. The beds were so comfortable, maybe the best I have ever had away from home. There was an issue with the tap in the sink in the bathroom, we received a call to tell us about it. it wasn't anything major, and nice to be notified. The area was very peaceful and easy to find. The only thing that would be an advantage would be a downstairs loo. All in all a great holiday. Thank you

Lovely, clean and well decorated property with a safe enclosed garden for our dog.

Also a lovely smell of wood when you enter the property. Quiet location and 5 min walk (if that) to the harbour area. Walking distance to Weymouth shops, beach & Nothe Fort. Also a short drive to Durdle Dor, Lulworth Cove, West Bay & Dorchester if you want to explore a little further out like we did. Would definitely recommend this house for your stay in Weymouth.

Lovley property which is close enough to all the local amenities, clean tidy and fully equipped would definitely recommend it to friends and family

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Nightingale with its interesting art and craft decor.

The property was spotless and we lacked for nothing.It was a good location for either walking on the cliff or down to Nothe Fort and the harbour.There are two steps up into the property which would benefit from a hand rail for people with a mobility problem

We have stayed with Dream Cottages for many years and Nightingale cottage was one of the best.

Newly refurbished with a great enclosed garden for our little dog. Five stars

Home was cosy, well presented and a great walking distance from Weymouth Harbour.

Beds and pillows very comfortable. Heating was very easy to navigate. Sachets of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were nice to see. Great garden but maybe need to check for dog mess between renters, as there were a few piles which had turned mouldy. Not everyone picks up their dogs mess :( One toilet roll for 3 nights for two adults not great.

We had a lovely holiday, the property is very cosy and close to all the amenities.

Just a couple of thoughts, there were 3 potato peelers but no masher and a chopping board would have been useful.

We really enjoyed our stay.

The place was immaculate warm cosy , The bed was so comfortable and we both slept well . So many walks in the area for our dog also the bonus of a lovely garden . One criticism we have a small dog and he manage to escape out of the garden (Top right hand corner) after that we kept him on a lead .we loved it so much have booked again and will return in a couple of months
