“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Middle Farm Annex – it was perfect for our requirements.”

We needed accommodations on one level suitable for our elderly parents (90th Birthday). The Annex is just that and was immaculately clean and so comfortable. We were welcomed with cake, milk and tea – just what we needed after a long car journey, it was a chilly time of year and the heating was on for our arrival and plenty of wood for the stove. We needed help with a plumbing issue, and it was dealt with very promptly. The grounds are beautiful and very conveniently close to the Jurassic ...

About the location

LONG BREDY

Bridport 8 miles; Dorchester 10 miles; Weymouth 12 miles

Long Bredy is a small picturesque village in the heart of the Bredy Valley, well known for its walks and stunning views. Nearby is also the village of Litton Cheney containing a number of facilities, including a Parish Church, the White Horse Inn and a community hall, along with charming cottages and a number of listed buildings. It has bus links, with two a day going to Bridport, two additional ones on a Saturday and one a week to Dorchester. Moreover, this charming village is an ideal base for exploring the area further, with Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, a 18th-century garden with rare plants and notable magnolia to explore nearby. Dorset is known for its stunning walks including the South West Coast path, part of which runs along the Jurassic Coast from Abbotsbury to Lyme Regis, where you can walk along beaches, cliffs, woodland and meadows. For some retail therapy, both Bridport and Dorchester are within 10 miles. Bridport has a wonderful street market on a Saturday and Wednesday, and a wide collection of local shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Dorchester also has a good selection of pubs, restaurants shops and a number of attractions including The Keep Military Museum, the Roman Town House and the Maumbury Rings, if you are interested in Roman history. Long Bredy is a delightful village, and an ideal base for exploring the rest of Dorset.”
