Description

Hazelbury Bryan 0.6 miles.

Found at the edge of the village of Hazelbury Bryan is South Lodge, an annexe cottage in the idyllic county of Dorset.

A stylish base for a relaxing holiday, this area would be perfect for those who love to get outdoors as there are some wonderful landscapes to behold nearby.

A chandelier lamp shade sits above the dining table in the centre of the open-plan living space, a carefully furnished and decorated room with eye-catching pieces all around you, from the barn-style wood doors, to the tapestry wall-hanging, and the antique wooden furniture to the state of the art woodburning-stove.

At the other end of the room is the sleek kitchen with marble counter tops, complete with a good range of appliances.

The ground floor is host to the conservatory with plush seating so you can enjoy the sun even on a brisk winter morning, and the king-size bedroom, featuring bold walls of burnt orange and olive green, giving it a mediterranean feel.

Travel up the ornate spiral staircase up to discover the rest of the sleeping arrangements comprising of a twin bedroom in the eaves of the property with dormer and velux windows to let the natural light flood in.

Enjoy a private patio outside, as well as the use of part of the owners' beautifully-kept garden on a warm day.

The village of Hazelbury Bryan is a traditional village, still home to thatched buildings and a parish church dating back to the 15th century, you can make use of the pub and shop for your essentials, but for more choice head over to Sherborne for a bustling high street as well as Sherborne Castle & Gardens, the stately mansion of the famous Sir Walter Raleigh, a favourite of Queen Elizabeth I, with lavish furnishings, fine art and a huge garden and lake to marvel at, this is a great day out.

Closer to home is the brilliant Badger Watch Dorset, a unique experience allowing you to see these creatures in their natural habitat at night, arrive at 6:30pm and stay for a few hours, you'll not only see badgers but pheasants, foxes and rabbits, a great experience for all!

South Lodge is a property with a unique and quirky style where you can enjoy the area of Dorset.

South Lodge is our happy place.

We love coming back here, watching the birds in the garden and the sun set over the field. Perfect! Such a lovely welcome pack, freshly baked cake, eggs from the chickens, honey from the bees, milk, orange juice and bread too.

The lodge is very relaxing and peaceful, well away from busy roads with a pretty garden and conservatory to watch the birds from.

Very comfortable beds and cool crisp bed linen.Linda and Mark provided a lovely welcome pack including eggs, a home made cake and honey direct from the garden. There is a shop within walking distance , although no footpaths this was not a problem. At the bottom of the lane I bought more eggs from someones garden. A lovely rural peaceful part of Dorset. Many thanks to Linda and Mark.

Upon arrival, we were impressed with the cleanliness and outlay of the property, and delighted with the welcome pack; which had been carefully thought out, and was much appreciated after our long journey.

Thank you! Would certainly love to stay here again!
