    Location is good for exercising dogs and for walking in to town. I rated the comfort a bit low because the double bed was quite small and that gave us trouble sleeping - that is not obvious from the listing. The shiny wood of the spiral staircase was a little precarious in stockinged feet and matting would have been preferred - I know that sounds picky and matting would be harder to clean but that and the size of the double would stop us booking again. ...

    Location is good for exercising dogs and for walking in to town. I rated the comfort a bit low because the double bed was quite small and that gave us trouble sleeping - that is not obvious from the listing. The shiny wood of the spiral staircase was a little precarious in stockinged feet and matting would have been preferred - I know that sounds picky and matting would be harder to clean but that and the size of the double would stop us booking again. It would also be nicer to have a consistent set of cutlery as well rather than a random collection including old ivory handles. A decent set is available from Ikea for £15 so not a big outlay: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/dragon-24-piece-cutlery-set-stainless-steel-90091760/ The towel rail in the bathroom didnt get warm and I couldnt turn it on. I know I should have reported that to give the opportunity to fix it but we didnt want the intrusion (apologies!) Generally the kitchen was well equipped and I was impressed with the inclusion of a pestle and mortar - my salsa verde would have been a bit trickier without that :-) I dont want to give the impression that this is a bad review because it isnt intended to be - The place was clean and functional and in a good location. It was a little bit quirky but good for pet owners to holiday at

Head through into the kitchen/diner where you can find every essential needed to rustle up a tasty meal for all to enjoy at the dining table, the perfect social spot when you’re not out exploring the delicious waterside eateries of the local town.

Venture up the spiral staircase to the first floor to be greeted by the three inviting bedrooms; the master, consisting of a double with a bright and airy yellow interior, and two single rooms, one with a blue and one with a pink interior, making a lovely layout for a family of four to catch up on their rest.

Serving the bedrooms is a bathroom boasting both a walk-in shower and a bath, so you can choose how best to prepare for your day.

For all of your local amenities take a short stroll from the front door to be greeted by range of wonders; whether you’re seeking the simplicity of a local shop to gather up any last-minute ingredients or seafood restaurants serving all kinds of tasty treats, you can find everything to cater for your culinary requirements within walking distance.

Also in the town centre are a range of family-friendly attractions; spend a day at the SEA LIFE Centre discovering wonderful marine life such as sharks, fish, turtles and more, or get up close to the creatures for yourself by exploring the rockpools amongst the golden sands of the beach.

Spend family time together crabbing in the inner harbour followed by some traditional fish and chips, or explore the Georgian esplanade, lining the award-winning beach with its range of shops, eateries and attractions, making a pleasant way to while away the hours.

Visit the Isle of Portland for a truly scenic experience, or venture into Dorchester for even more eateries and fantastic shopping scene.
