The property

Still Waters is adjacent to a small sandy beach in Weymouth area Wyke Regis with glorious views across to the Island of Portland.

Located close to sandbanks, which leave pockets of water from the Fleet hiding cockles, winkles and tiny fish it’s a fascinating pastime for children.

Straight out of your front door you can go windsurfing on some of the most challenging waters around the island, so the property is perfectly suited for water sports enthusiasts as well.

National Sailing Academy in the Isle of Portland is a short drive away too.

A walk along the old railway lines that now serve as a picturesque Rodwell trail adjacent the coast offers a relaxing way to pass time.

The railway line takes you to sandy Sandsfoot beach, a favourite place of the locals.

Continue the walk along the lines into Weymouth and discover the golden sands and picturesque harbour with its varied eating places.

As the Weymouth to Portland road lies behind the high rear wall to the back garden, you are in a perfect location to explore this Dorset area with a car or a bus, or on foot.

Explore the Island of Portland with its quarries and fascinating bird life by taking South West Coast path which will take to you to three lighthouses, XIII century church ruins, Church Ope Cove, Portland Harbour and more.

Pay a visit to the Chesil Beach centre which is a short stroll away and get to know about wildlife on the Fleet and Chesil bank, as well as it’s a good spot to relax and enjoy waves crashing to the shore.

The sunsets are just gorgeous to watch with your loved ones from the top of the Chesil beach – the views reach far to West Bay, Lyme Regis towards Devon. Weymouth 2 miles; Dorchester 9 miles.

Wyke Regis is village on the south western side of Weymouth that sits on the northern edges of Portland harbour and reaches as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet. 2 miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including The famous Crab House café, with it’s own Oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing school, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just 2 miles away on the edge of Portland harbour. The Fleet lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area. Chesil beach is also a renowned spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic coast.
