Hillside Cottage is a pretty holiday home in Dorset, perfect for a couple.  This detached and spacious cottage is accessed via the cottage's own gravelled parking area and has a garden with fragrant blooms in spring and summer.  Just a five or ten minute walk away is the vibrant town of Bridport; here you can have an excellent meal, picking from a number of cuisines and styles of food.  Enjoy browsing the shops or visit at the weekend for the antiques and collectables market or local farmers' market.   Come and enjoy the surrounding glorious Dorset countryside which is ideal for walkers; from Bridport choose from short strolls to energetic rambles.  The local beach with a choice of shingle or sand, along with the working harbour hosting fishing boats and leisure boats at West Bay - ITV's `Broadchurch' - can be reached in a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes by car.  You can choose at Hillside Cottage, country living or beach life? Why not enjoy both! Hillside cottage is ideally located for enjoying all the Bridport literary festival has to offer, being just a 5-10 minute walk from all of the venues.  You can find more information on the local literary festivals on the following links:



Accommodation: Kitchen with dining table.  Lounge with wood burner effect electric fire.  Bedroom, kingsize double bed with pocket sprung mattress.  Shower room with shower, hand basin and toilet, with light and shaver point over the mirror.

Additional Services: 32" Flat screen TV and DVD player. Portable radio / CD player. Hairdryer. Gas central heating. Washer/dryer. Bed linen and towels are inclusive.  Off road parking for two cars. Tiered rear garden with table and chairs.  Not suitable for babies or children.  WIFI. Welcome Tea Tray provided on arrival.

You are welcome to bring your bikes / fishing equipment / other larger holiday equipment, but unfortunately there is not room to store them inside at Hillside Cottage, however, you may leave bikes secured in the garden area. 

Although the cottage is not suitable for wheelchair users due to the gravelled areas around the cottage, the two steps up to the outside doors and the corridor width, there are grab handles by both the front and back doors, next to the toilet and in the shower.

Please note£100 refundable damage deposit on booking is requested on Hillside Cottage.  This will be refunded within two weeks of your return from holiday, subject to a satisfactory check-out.  Hillside Cottage is a non-smoking property.

About the Location

Surrounded by green hills and countryside with pretty little streams and rivers running through it, Bridport is just perfect for city dwellers searching for country charm. With the finest traditional pubs, many of which lovingly welcome dogs, great markets, fantastic restaurants and tea rooms and the culture provided by the famous art scene, there is plenty to keep everyone in your cottage party, very happy.

The Street Markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday and Bridport Farmers Market is on every month. There is also a regular Vintage Market for all those with a keen eye for shabby chic antiques. Bridport’s Electric Palace is also fantastic showing films, live theatre, comedy and gigs. Shopping in Bridport’s independent boutique shops will bring you some lovely unique vintage finds and for beach life, head to West Bexington or Charmouth for some splendid fossil hunting.
