Absolutely beautiful bungalow could not find fault with this one either inside or outside.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shipton Hill View and would book it again.

The bungalow is set in beautiful Dorset countryside with a wonderful outlook and is very well appointed The accommodation is spacious and well lit and I compliment the owners who have clearly paid close attention to detail to make it very comfortable. The garden is secure and ideal for our canine friends. A point to note; it is farming country and access is along narrow country lanes so drive with great care and don't be surprised to meet an oncoming tractor. Not related to the property; I had to buy salt and rinse aid for the dishwasher so it could wash efficiently.

We had a fantastic stay at Shipton Hill View.

The bungalow was very comfortable, especially the beds and sofas. Bi fold doors led out to the patio and the garden was large, well kept, and safe for our dogs. The New Inn pub served an amazing roast and was only a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend as a holiday if visiting Hive Beach, West Bay, Bridport and Weymouth… and the wood burner was the best we have used in a property!!

Very comfortable property in a very beautiful setting. Such lovely views. One very small suggestion would be for bath mats in shower rooms.And perhaps some more hanging space.

Lovely, comfortable property with a great garden for our dog to relax in.

It was well equipped and we enjoyed eating relaxed meals in the garden. The property is ideally situated to explore Dorset as it is only a very short drive from the A35. We had a very relaxed holiday and would look forward to staying at Shipton Hill View if we returned to Dorset.

By far the best accomadation we have ever stayed in so comfortable and extremely clean the location was great for getting about and exploring the Dorset coast very dog friendly the rear garden is fantastic for our pooch to roam around at will.

Can I ask the owner who we have tried several times to contact us we have something of theirs we need to return we inadvertently packed this item and would like to return but we don't have any postage details, once again thankyou for a wonderful stay in your beautiful property.

We love this property so much, this was our third visit and we are already booked for another stay later this year.

Our Labradors love the big garden which is safe and secure, and the view of Shipton Hill is wonderful. We were so lucky to have perfect sunny days to enjoy it and days out around one of our favourite areas.

Shipton Hill View is a lovely property.

Very clean, well maintained and comfortable. The views from the lovely big windows at the back of the property are stunning. We were fortunate to have good weather and to be able to witness the fantastic sight of the harvest moon rising over the hills. Dorset is a lovely County with the towns of Bridport, Lyme Regis, Dorchester and Weymouth all worth a visit as well as the beaches along the Jurassic Coast. We would definitely return to this excellent holiday home.

Lovely bungalow with a stunning view.

Clean, tidy, comfortable and fabulously presented. Milk and biscuits a nice touch. Great location for exploring the area. The large enclosed garden was a hit with our dog. Rear folding doors across the rear of the property maximised the views of the hill fort and fields. Would definitely stay here on another visit in the future.

Lovely place to stay home from home.

Plenty of room for all of us, and everything thought out to make it so. It was nice that the doors folded back, opening into the garden which the children & dogs loved. Plenty of walks nearby. Would certainly return to this holiday gem again .

The kettle and the bottom of the shower tray in the bathroom would benefit from descaling.

Otherwise the property is excellent and in a lovely location

We had a lovely holiday in Dorset and very much enjoyed the area.

The bungalow is in a very quiet position with a lovely garden which is well maintained. We were disappointed with certain aspects concerning the cleanliness of the bungalow which was a shame however apart from this we enjoyed our stay.

The bungalow was more spacious than we expected, is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. The garden is ideal for children and our cocker spaniel loved it. The bungalow is ideally located for exploring the Dorset Coast. Nearby is Hive Beach for coastal walks and the most amazing chips

We very much enjoyed our second break at Shipton Hill View this October with our Labradors.

The garden is perfect for them, and the area is one that we love, we particularly like Hive Beach and Charmouth for trips with the dogs. The property is a very comfortable home from home and we have already booked to return next summer. The only criticism we have is the lack of any welcome pack. Not even any milk in the fridge or a single tea bag!

Nice big enclosed garden for the dog. We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the property and the sofa’s could do with updating, very uncomfortable. Kitchen very well equipped.

Love the new look of the front of the property and the porch area is so much easier to use.

Sykes need to do the first photo again with the new look. Thanks for the new garden umbrella a welcome addition. So pleased there is now a cupboard in the kitchen for our use made things easier. Everything was as comfortable as last year Are looking forward to coming back next year, already booked

Disappointed that I reported loose exterior cladding over r/hand (from inside) patio door noone came to fix it!

Ideally located if you’re looking for peace and quiet. The views from the property were lovely.

Shipton hill view is an amazing place to stay I've stayed at many cottages and this is up there with the best.

Location is perfect bungalow is well equipped maybe could install televisions in bedrooms. The garden and view Is brilliant would have loved to stay longer will definitely be back.

Lovely bungalow, very well equipped, fantastic view.

The only let down was the very high step into the property, making it difficult to get in and out of the bungalow. Especially difficult for me as I have a prosthetic leg.

We have just enjoyed a lovely peaceful break in this beautiful immaculate property, with our two Labradors Theo (13 1/2 yr old ) and Dora (2 1/2 yr old) We loved everything about Shipton View even though we had wet weather, the views and the lovely light spacious rooms were perfect for reading and resting, lovely walks nearby and our favourite beaches of Hive, West Bay, Charmouth and Lyme Regis close by.

The dogs enjoyed the garden as this was perfect for both of them. The only complaint was that the side gate was not secure and Dora quickly found her way out! We remedied this by resting a bag of pebbles by the gate to keep it closed. We would definitely like to return for another holiday soon, absolutely loved this home from home.

This is a lovely property that was comfortable and clean.

The only thing that would have improved it is the side gate being secure as then our dog couldn’t have got out from the garden. Plus a bigger TV in the lounge and TVs in the bedrooms. But the property was very well kitted out and very comfortable with spectacular views. These suggestions are really only to make a 9/10 property a 10/10 property.

Stayed for 3 nights over Christmas with grandparents and 2 teenagers (14 & 17yrs) & dog - perfect property- all on one level so very accessible for elderly grandparents; kids loved the local amenities- close to Hive beach with beautiful walks for dog and some great pubs nearby for gorgeous pub lunches !

Lovely bungalow, it had everything you could want and more, only 2 slight things we would change, put a larger television in the lounge and condense some of the pots and pans as there isn’t an empty cupboard to store food.

Otherwise it was perfect for 6 adults one being disabled. 5 stars for facilities the 4 stars is for maintenance, we reported a fault with the boiler timer to dream cottages and it wasn’t fixed by the time we left, although the boiler worked fine we just used the thermostat to turn it off at night.

Lovely bungalow, looked as good as photos.

Disappointed that there was no line in the garden, only a very small airer which we lifted on to the patio. Would be better if either the airer was larger or there was a garden washing line. Lovely location, facilities excellent. Very clean loved the mattresses toppers, sheer heaven Garden would benefit from an umbrella but saying that we have already booked for next year, can't wait.

Comfortable property with an amazing view, lovely enclosed garden for guests with dogs, plenty of room to accommodate six people.

After all the effort the owners have gone into to make this accommodation luxury we think they would be disappointed with cleanliness, bathrooms grubby and stained pillows and mattress’s, free standing log burner full of ash and glass dirty, same for the fireplace in the bedroom. Such a shame this let this property down.

This is a beautiful property which has been really well renovated to a very standard.

Everything has been thought through really well and all equipment is of excellent quality. The garden is a big open space and very secure for the dog. Best review I can give is that we would happily be able to live there full time, it was stunning.

A lovely cottage in a nice village with friendly locals and a good dog friendly pub.

As is common with older properties there was a lack of instruction leaflets for the cooker & tv etc but as regular staycationers we worked it out. We will definitely return to the area and if this cottage is available when we are then we would not hesitate to re-book.

Comfy, cosy bungalow.

Beds v comfy. Sofas v comfy. Shower room and loo, all new and fab. Lovely enclosed garden. Plenty of parking. Fabulous food at the village pub, the New Inn. Short drive to beautiful beach and 5 mins to Morrisons and Bridport. Locals really friendly. Only slight quibble is the kitchen is a bit dated and a new frying pan would go amiss, but all good apart from that

Garden not as secure for dogs as I would like and a determined pup could probably escape through the hedge at the back. Hoover was a nightmare to get to pick up fur on carpet. Amazing surrounding area and local pub was very welcoming. Would recommend and would return.

It was a very comfortable bungalow with beautiful views.

The issues we had were dealt with efficiently by the local staff. The narrow lanes took some getting used to but became familiar very quickly. The New Inn pub was easy to walk to and did great food.

We were happy with the cleanliness of the cottage in general, however the kitchen was not well cleaned and we had to wash all utensils and crockery before it was used.

Although we have awarded a 4 for cleanliness when we came to use the hoover it smelt dreadfully of dog.

Also the french windows were smeared with handprints. But we would recommend the bungalow and would stay there again as everything else was excellent.

It was comfortable on the January days we were forced to stay in, but close to coastal walks when we could venture out.

The views are incredible and our dog loved the big garden. Shipton gorge is very pretty and lots of lovely walks on the doorstep, including the hike up to Shipton hill! The local pub ' The New Inn' does a lovely Sunday roast.

The cottage was fine and very comfortable.

Garden was a great size and perfect for our Dalmatian. The village is very quiet and dark, you definitely need a torch when out and about. The villagers are very friendly and happy to stop and chat.

Everything you could think of was provided & a few that you wouldn't. It is a lovely peacefull place to stay with great walks & the local pub The Ship Inn served really good food at a reasonable price. We would definitely recommend this place.

We were so lucky with the weather, something out of everyone's control.

The bungalow was lovely, spacious, welcoming, and with lots of little touches like the "library" with local info and local interest. I can devour books on walks so these were especially useful. We twice scaled Shiton Hill and waked several of the footpaths around. The dog loved the garden, ideal for a lurcher to do circuits, fully fenced and with neighbours who also had dogs so such a dog friendly environment. The shower in the bathroom worked well and so useful to have a separate toilet.Dog also loved the morning sun shining through the windows. The heating system was a bit of a mystery, hopefully those who came after are more adept with the technology. The information regarding recycling needs updating, all local authorities seem to have their own schemes. All in all a lovely week.

We stayed for a few days in Easter during April. The cottage is in a lovely quite location with a friendly pub serving decent food only a five minute walk away. the general location is fantastic with Hive Beach a 5 minute drive away. Hive beach itself is very nice with again a fantastic restaurant on the beach serving superb sea food. Very close to Birdport and West Bay and centrally located for everything from Weymouth and Lulworth Cove to Corfe Castle and Lyme Regis all an easy drive away. Cottage was a good size and very clean. Views from the back over some beautiful countryside. Would certainly recommend and would stay again. Stayed April 2017

One of the best cottages we have rented - great location and lovely views from the lounge. Cottage was well equipped and blue and white nautical decoration gave a clean and fresh impression. For once an enclosed garden was really enclosed and the dog was very happy exploring outside. Despite the wet weather we enjoyed our week visiting the area and relaxing in our comfortable surroundings. We hope to come back soon. Stayed September 2017

We stayed at Shipton Hill View during bank holiday week and absolutely loved it. It is cosy and comfortable and has a very welcoming feel. The large garden is a real bonus and has beautiful views over surrounding countryside. It felt like a real home from home and everything you could possibly need was there. Having stayed at this property several times in the past, I was very impressed with the tasteful way the alterations had been achieved. It is very comfortable with all our needs catered for. The views of the surrounding countryside are still as beautiful and Shipton Gorge is an excellent base from which to explore the delights of Dorset. Stayed June 2016
