  • “No egg cups.”

Windows outside need a clean. Few copwebs in corners, lounge, downstairs toilet etc. Some comfortable garden chairs to relax in, would be nice. The cottage was situated in a nice village, with a couple of pubs within Walking distance.

The property

Wildflower Cottage is a beautiful stone holiday cottage in the village of Sutton Poyntz, a quintessentially English village, situated just a few miles from Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

The cottage sits in a sunny corner plot and boasts a private, well established garden with a patio area.

The well equipped modern kitchen has everything you need to create delicious breakfasts and tasty dinners, relax in the bright and spacious sitting room, or play board games at the table.

Upstairs are the perfect bedrooms for a tranquil nights rest.

Just a short stroll from the front door takes you past the mill pond where the local ducks congregate and to the Springhead Pub which offers local ales, chilled wine and a varied menu.

A shop is also within walking distance and the village is surrounded by excellent country walks for those who like to ramble.

Ideally located, the village is just a couple of miles from the nearest beach at Bowleaze Cove with the main resort beach and the town centre of Weymouth another mile further on.

A short drive of around 20 minutes in the other direction gives access to the world Heritage sites of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove in addition to attractions such as Monkey World and the Tank Museum.

This lovely house offers all the modern comforts you need to relax and enjoy your holiday and provides a truly ideal location from which to explore the wider Dorset Coast.

Perfect for a family or small group of friends.

About the location

Weymouth 3.7 miles; Dorchester 5.4 miles

Sutton Poyntz is a small village on the northern side of Preston, on the outskirts of Weymouth, and it sits beneath the George III chalk horse that is carved into the hillside. At the centre of the village sits a beautiful duck pond, and the Springhead pub, where you can enjoy a drink in the pub gardens whilst admiring the chalk horse carving. Just 3.5 miles from Weymouth and it’s golden sandy beach, lanes of boutique shops, sea life centre and historic harbour this is a perfect village base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Just 13 miles away are the UNESCO world Heritage sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle, a short drive further on finds you at Corfe Castle, most recently known for being the inspiration behind many Enid Blyton Famous Five novels. Make sure you take a trip on the steam train on the Swanage Railway, which passes the magnificent ruins. A charming base to choose in a stunning part of Dorset.
