Pear Tree Cottage is a charming, semi-detached, typical English rural country cottage in West Milton, which is a pretty village, hidden away in Dorset's splendour, and surrounded by rolling hills and valleys which yawn out towards the coast. The village has some pretty thatched cottages dating back to the 16th century. A ten minute journey by car through lush countryside and leafy lanes will take you to the outskirts of Bridport where you will find several major supermarkets and various shops of all descriptions. The views from the garden are lovely and you can walk straight from the door on to nearby footpaths. The cottage provides ideal accommodation for families and adults and a very comfortable base for up to 6, from which to explore all that this lovely part of West Dorset has to offer. The beaches of West Bay, Burton Bradstock and Lyme Regis are easily reached from here. Nearby is Mangerton Mill a working 17th Century water mill and Museum of Rural Bygones - a small cafe is open during summer months (closed Mondays). There are four pubs within a short drive: The Marquis of Lorne in Nettlecombe is a short 3 minute drive as is The Three Horseshoes in Powerstock, The Crown at Uploders (around 7 mins drive) and the Loders Arms in Loders (around 5 mins drive). All are traditional in style, they welcome families, serve delicious home cooked food and real ale and have open log fires to warm yourself by on colder days.

Accommodation: Ground floor: Porch. Open plan sitting room with inglenook fireplace and dining area. Kitchen with breakfast bar. Laundry room. 1st floor: Bathroom with bath, hand basin and toilet. Bedroom 1, king size double with French doors to raised decked garden area. Bedroom 2, twin single beds. Bedroom 3, twin single beds. Small shower room with basin and toilet.

Services in addition to standard equipment WiFi is available (Please note due to the rural location of this property the WiFi continuity cannot be guaranteed). Oil fired central heating, open fire (logs can be supplied in the winter, with sufficient notice at an extra cost). Fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. DVD Player, stereo and CD Player. Medium size tiered rear garden laid to lawn and two patios. Summer house. Garden furniture. This is our second holiday with Dream Cottages. The booking process is easy, quick and efficient. Pear Tree Cottage provided everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and very welcome equipped . The garden is beautiful with several lovely areas to sit and to eat outdoors. Unfortunately the weather was very wet during our stay so we were unable to take advantage of this but in good weather it would be lovely. The cottage is an excellent base for visiting attractions and areas in West Dorset. We are planning another holiday later this year and we will definitely choose to book this with Dream Cottages. About the Location

Surrounded by green hills and countryside with pretty little streams and rivers running through it, Bridport is just perfect for city dwellers searching for country charm. With the finest traditional pubs, many of which lovingly welcome dogs, great markets, fantastic restaurants and tea rooms and the culture provided by the famous art scene, there is plenty to keep everyone in your cottage party, very happy.

The Street Markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday and Bridport Farmers Market is on every month. There is also a regular Vintage Market for all those with a keen eye for shabby chic antiques. Bridport’s Electric Palace is also fantastic showing films, live theatre, comedy and gigs. Shopping in Bridport’s independent boutique shops will bring you some lovely unique vintage finds and for beach life, head to West Bexington or Charmouth for some splendid fossil hunting.
