With the Jurassic Coast on your doorstep and the sea directly in front of you, along with the coast path, this is ideally located for some hearty walks to nearby West Bay in one direction and Charmouth in the other. Magnificent rolling hills either side and nestled in a field next to the cliff (fenced) is the wonderful Sandpiper Chalet. This comfortable well equipped property is situated only 50 metres from the beach. Inside there is a light, airy contemporary living space which has been thoughtfully furnished. Seconds away is a beautiful pebble and sand beach backed by impressive cliffs, including Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the south coast. The chalet is located in the sleepy coastal village of Eype which has the benefit of a good local pub, the New Inn serving a good choice of food and a fine pint of ale. There is a seasonal shop. The village with its narrow winding roads and traditional pastoral buildings has a feel of years gone by and on a holiday here you may feel transported to a less frantic, more relaxed era. The market town of Bridport is only a mile and a half away where you can find well known high street stores, antiques and collectables, as well as a regular farmers' market showcasing the best of Dorset produce. The walks on offer around Sandpiper are some of the best available along the World Heritage coastline of Dorset. The beach is also good for fishing. If you want complete relaxation, you may wish to sit on the patio area and enjoy the surrounding views and tranquillity, or watch the sea from the comfort of the living area, or even your bed.

Accommodation: Integrated lounge / kitchen / diner. Shower room, with shower (no bath), hand basin and toilet. Bedroom 1 with kingsize bed, Bedroom 2 two single beds. Patio doors to front small patio area overlooking sea with patio furniture.

It was lovely and so clean which is very important and you can see the care that goes into making it so nice for guests thank you to the owners again - stayed April 2018.

Mr S Holloway
his was our third stay at Sandpiper and yet again everything was superb. The location is second to none and there is everything inside the chalet to make it a real home from home. So good in fact we have just booked it again for next year.

Mr A Hutchinson
We met the owner's on arrival. They were very nice and polite. On entering the property, we were amazed. So clean and well furnished with views to die for. We were left a lovely welcome gift. The location is lovely and quiet and off the beaten track. It was just idyllic. Would highly recommend for any couple looking for seclusion - stayed September 2017

Again this property was excellent and we have booked it again this year - stayed August 2017

Mrs L Ship
Very clean & well equipped accommodation in a truly wonderful location. Beds are so comfortable and the surroundings so quiet that a good night's sleep is almost guaranteed! The kitchen has everything anyone could need & the shower room is lovely. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet & comfortable stay on the beautiful Dorset coast. Stayed April 2017

Mr R Lelonek
As a family of four, we all loved the Sandpiper and Eype. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the vendors provided everything you could possibly need. As soon as you walked in it felt home from home, I didn`t need to clean or check the beds as I would normally do upon entering a holiday accommodation. You could tell the moment you walked in it was just perfect and I/we felt relaxed instantly. The location was perfect with easy assess to the pebbled beach, star glazing at night spent at the beach or on the baloney at the chalet. Breakfast sitting on the baloney, BBQ`s, people watching, just perfect. My 15 year old daughter found a ammonite fossil on Eype beach, this made her feel proud. The local supermarket was close by. We had such a wonderful time - stayed August 2016

Mr S Holloway
The chalet & its location are excellent. So good in fact that I have already reserved it for two weeks next year. What was really nice is that we had the opportunity to meet the owners whilst we were there. Stayed August 2016

About the Location

Eype is a wonderfully peaceful coastal village, with narrow winding lanes, pretty cottages, a great local pub, where well behaved dogs are welcome, and a glorious setting amongst The Golden Cap National Trust Estate. Eype is the perfect place to escape and relax in a cosy holiday cottage.

The pretty winding lanes lead to a beautiful shelving shingle beach, where the locals come for some seclusion, away from the more well-known tourist beaches of Lyme Regis to the west and West Bay to the east. The large soft pebbles make it a comfortable picnicking spot and the beach is one of the best for keen fishermen.

Simply step outside your holiday cottage and you have rambling walks in abundance, all across the world famous Jurassic coastline, where you can take the coastal route along the South West Coastal Path, or a countryside jaunt past fields of peacefully grazing farm animals.

Fossil hunting is a must in this area, since the coastline dates back from around 189 million years ago. Spend a day on the beach, building sandcastles and digging up ammonites and then relax in the village pub for a tipple or two.

The village of Eype is just a couple of miles away from the cool and bustling market town of Bridport. The street market is held every Wednesday and Saturday here and there is also a fantastic monthly farmers market and a regular vintage market.

Eype is also just as close to the perfectly quaint West Bay Harbour. A great place to while away the afternoon watching the fishing boats or perhaps hire a boat yourself for a trip through the riverside meadows.
