2. Lyme Regis Golf Club, Lyme Regis

Recognised widely as one of the finest golf courses in the South West, Lyme Regis Golf Club is an 18 hole, par 71 course occupying a clifftop site, boasting views all the way along Chesil Beach towards the Isle of Portland (home to the famous lighthouse at Portland Bill) and Lyme Regis.


3. Wolfedale Golf Course, Charminster

Wolfedale Golf Course is a picturesque 18 hole, par 69 course, featuring not only incredible views of the Dorset countryside but a fabulous, friendly bar and well-equipped shop. Perfect for golfers of all abilities.

4. Isle of Purbeck Golf Club, Studland

The Isle of Purbeck is a wonderfully traditional course, set in the Dorset AONB. Overlooking Brownsea Island, Bournemouth and the Solent, you can enjoy views both in the daytime and by twilight. Comprised of 18 holes and a 70 par, the course is certainly one for a golfer’s bucket list.


5. Wareham Golf Club, Wareham

Poised right on the top of Wareham Forest, Wareham Golf Club is an established 18 hole green with a par of 69. If you’re travelling with non-golfers then there is a stunning clubhouse offering afternoon tea or lessons for beginners.

6. Ashley Wood Golf Club, Blandford Forum

Ashley Wood is one of Dorset’s best all-year-round golf courses and country clubs, offering a total of 18 holes over 6308 yards. With ancient woodlands and bluebell-filled meadows, Ashley Wood is a truly tranquil golf club.

7. Bullpits Golf Course, Gillingham

Based in Bourton, just a few minutes’ drive from the A303, Bullpits is one of the South West’s most challenging short courses. 18 holes set over pint-sized greens and tight fairways, Bullpits is a great course for both learners and seasoned pros. On arrival, make your way to the cheery Clubhouse to sign in before you spend a morning or afternoon teeing off in this picturesque setting.


8. Yeovil Golf Club, Yeovil

You can enjoy a total of 27 holes at Yeovil Golf Club over the Old and Newton Course. Bordering Somerset along the River Yeo, the course provides challenging play for golfers at every skill level.
