The Wessex Folk Festival

Its time to get your dancing shoes on and head down to Weymouth Harbour this June.

Fast becoming one of the biggest free folk festivals in England, running from the 1st-3rd June, the Wessex folk festival is an opportunity to sit back and relax or get up and join in with a whole host of activities, dances and live music. With over 30 stage performances over the weekend, Weymouth harbour side is the place to be.

Warming up on Friday night with local pub and harbourside music sessions, Saturday brings continuous Morris dancing, work shops and performances from national and international acts, and a big Saturday night ceilidh for all to join in, winding down on Sunday enjoy the many trade stalls dotted around the Harbourside, or just soak up the atmosphere in one of the many pubs, restaurants and bars that join in with the festival.

Dorset has a rich history of folk dancing, music and song, and the Wessex folk festival is a unique way to enjoy this heritage, why not come and experience the Dorset way of life this June.
