Nestled away on the edge of the quintessential Dorset Coastal village of Osmington sits this modern converted Lodge which has been furnished to a high standard. Whitegates Lodge is a link detached property in lovely grounds shared with the owner's own home. Guests will have use of the front garden which has a large lawn. Patio doors also lead out onto a gravelled area with a table and chairs where warm summer evenings can be enjoyed. (see photo). The property is accessed along a gated gravel driveway, tucked away just off the main village road in Osmington. Although set back from the main road and fully screened, some traffic noise may be heard in the garden area. The bright and clean decor gives a cool but relaxed feel throughout the property. The open plan kitchen, diner and lounge lends itself perfectly to socialising and relaxing during your stay. A short distance from the property is Craig's Farm Dairy, tea room and farm shop, which is ideal for buying fresh milk, cheeses and wonderful ice cream. A short drive away is the bustling seaside town of Weymouth, with a wealth of bars, restaurants, shops and activities, as well as the three mile stretch of idyllic sandy beach, hosting a range of traditional seaside entertainment during the summer months and great for wintry strolls out of peak season. The famous South West Coast Path leads you to Osmington Mills, the beautiful coastal hamlet, known for its colourful history of smugglers, who supposedly took refuge in the local Inn (now The Smugglers Inn), which dates back to 13th Century. We would also recommend a trip East to the unique and beautiful Lulworth Cove during your stay; spend the day on the sheltered shingle beach, or enjoy a meal at one of the local pubs or restaurants, while taking in the stunning scenery. A walk from Lulworth Cove over to Durdle Door offers the perfect opportunity to admire the striking views over the Jurassic Coastline with its unusual geological formations.
