    “We had a wonderful stay at Belview Cottage and would happily return.”

    The cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and everything was of excellent quality and in perfect working order. It was clear that a great deal of thought and care had gone into making it a comfortable place to stay. The welcome was lovely, with some delicious local produce waiting for us, which was a really thoughtful touch. The owners were friendly and welcoming, meeting us on arrival and again when we left to make sure everything had been satisfactory. The garden was a ...

It was a peaceful place to relax, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the butterflies and the many birds visiting throughout our stay. Overall, an excellent cottage with thoughtful hosts, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break in Dorset.

The small, attractive market town of Sturminster Newton is set on the banks of the River Stour, reached via a graceful, six-arch, 15th century bridge, carrying a warning of deportation to those who may damage it! The whole area acted as inspiration for the works of Thomas Hardy, who wrote Return of The Native whilst living in the town. The region is dotted with thatched cottages, rural walks, stunning country views, and fascinating towns, such as Sherborne, with its abbey and castle, whilst the beautiful Dorset Heritage Coast is also within easy reach, making this an ideal base all year round!
