“Lovely property and location, very disappointed with the beds and sofas.”

Back bedroom off dining room was incredibly uncomfortable mattress and pillows, old duvets yellow looking, sofa bed very old futon style and not comfortable to sit on very grubby, the 3 seater sofa was also not very comfortable to sit on. Cleaning, the oven had not been cleaned, lots of grease on inside oven door. Would love to rebook but due to the lack of comfort with the beds and sofas would not.

“The property was large and very clean but the furniture in the lounge was very uncomfortable and could not be sat on for long period of time .”

The bed in the 3rd room (extension) was very bumpy to sleep on and the quilt did not fit the quilt cover . When you spend this amount of money you expect to be able to sleep good and have furniture you can sit on .

“Our third stay at Bayview .”

What we love about this bungalow is its location close to Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve and the beaches of Southbourne . Literally across the road is the nature reserve with many dog friendly areas and a large expanse of dog friendly beach . In the other direction are the more traditional beach's at Southbourne . There are many options for walks without using the car . The accommodation is fine , the rear garden is secure although could do with brightening up . The shower is situated in a large oblong bath and could be a problem if you have mobility issues.

“The outside furniture is in very poor condition with some broken items, the lawn was uncut when we arrived which was hard with a dog, this was cut midway through our stay.”

There are broken handles and cupboards in the kitchen and the cooker hood does not work. The one settee is too hard to sit on and stained. The front doorbell doesn’t work. Beautiful location and with a little money could be a good bungalow. Shower is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

“Everything about this place was ideal for us.”

The house itself had everything we needed, was comfortable and the location was perfect for dog walks and trips into the New Forest. The back garden is very safe for the dogs. Highly recommended.

“A lovely break away in this very comfortable holiday home, which had everything we needed.”

In a great position with a short walk to the sea and a slightly longer walk to beautiful Hengistbury head, one of my very favourite places. We're really hoping to return sometime when the weather is a bit warmer and hopefully less wet.

“A lovely location, and a very spacious property with a perfect secure garden for dogs.”

The beds were comfortable and we slept well. However, reading through the visitor comment book (which we used to leave comments before we left), it is clear that suggestions which would improve things for guests have not been addressed. The front bedroom would benefit from a blind or net as there is a busy junction directly outside as well as a lot of walkers meaning the curtains were closed throughout our stay. There was no welcome pack...which is the first time there has been no greeting having rented a lot of holiday let's over many years...perhaps a pint of milk might be nice? And perhaps a bottle of wash up liquid? Perhaps a spare bin liner? The enormous spa bath doesn't work....what a waste!...and the bathroom is looking rather tired and unloved. If the owner addressed some of the small niggles as suggested by myself and other guests, I might feel that I hadn't overpaid for my 5 night stay. On arrival, a phrase my Grandmother used to use came to mind and wouldn't shift...'Fur coat, and no knickers'...

“Loved the bungalow.”

..loved the location!!! Absolutely perfect for dogs. The bedding was lovely and the bed was very comfy! There was one settee that was comfy but some decent cushions were needed and possibly a nest of tables for your coffee would have been helpful!! I was disappointed there wasn't even a pint of milk for our arrival but not the end of the world and also no hairdryer or even a drop of washing up liquid provided although there were dishwasher tablets from other guests! Plenty of space in the bungalow and the garden area was secure for our dog. All in all fantastic place to visit for walking in all directions and will definitely be going back!
