The property

Picardy Cottage is a charming whitewashed holiday home idyllically positioned in the heart of the popular seaside resort of Weymouth on a quiet pedestrianised road.

Hosting four bedrooms and comfortably sleeping up to eight guests in a contemporary yet homely setting, Picardy Cottage is ideal for a family or a group of friends who want to explore the region's many treasures.

As you cross the threshold into your new home-from-home, you'll be greeted by a handy hallway area, perfect for storing your beach gear and luggage away from the main living areas.

A lengthy journey calls for rest, so make yourself at home with a sumptuous seat in front of the television in the sitting room before heading to the nearby galley-style kitchen to prepare a hearty dinner.

Make use of the plethora of contemporary amenities provided in the well-equipped kitchen to rustle up some tasty treats and call your loved ones to gather together with a bottle of wine around the dining table to indulge as you recount the day's adventures.

To complete the ground floor, a family bathroom is located here, with a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC.

When day draws to night, climb the stairs to the first floor where you'll find two well-presented bedrooms, a double and a twin, along with an additional bathroom that again includes both an overhead shower as well as the traditional bath for guests who prefer to soak their tired feet in the tub.

For larger groups, the second floor provides a further two bedrooms, a double and a twin.

A short walk from your doorstep will bring you into the centre of Weymouth where you'll find a host of fantastic local amenities to assist with your self-catering needs, here you can indulge in a spot of pub grub at The Black Dog, savour fresh fish and chips with a stroll along the esplanade, or if you're looking for something a little more elegant, head to The Good Life Café for a spot of afternoon tea.

Keep the little ones entertained with a visit to the SEA LIFE Centre, where you'll come face-to-face with a fascinating selection of sea creatures, or head to the Nothe Fort and lose yourself amongst the labyrinthine tunnels hidden below.

Spend lazy days soaking up the sun and sand at Weymouth Beach, or get better acquainted with your surroundings and follow the South West Coast Path along the dramatic coastline towards the hidden treasures of Bowleaze Cove and Tyneham Cap.

Pack a picnic and journey to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, where magnolia and camellia blooms provide a tranquil backdrop for an escape from reality, or visit the remarkable collection of over 600 mute swans at Abbotsbury Swannery, once an 11th-century monastery.

Picardy Cottage makes an idyllic base from which to explore the delights of Dorset.
