The spacious bedrooms are perfect for relaxing in an evening and recharging for another days holiday.

West Bay is most recently famous for its starring role as the location in Broadchurch, and as you walk around you will recognise many of the features used in this popular TV series, just a few minutes' walk from Tern Cottage.

If you want to stretch your legs further, the coastal path is also on the doorstep and leads to such delights as Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast of Great Britain.

The Market town of Bridport is just over a mile away, where you can find a weekly farmers market, antiques and curiosities as well high street favourites.

Tern cottage is a lovely seaside bungalow, warm, welcoming and fully equipped allowing you to relax and enjoy you're your holiday.

The perfect place for a couples retreat or a young family to come and enjoy Dorset.

WEST BAY

Bridport 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 7 miles.

West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway To The Dorset Jurassic Coast”, nestles beneath the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, golf, fossil hunting, boating, or even try scuba diving. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family! Just a short drive takes you to the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, the lovely sub-tropical gardens and swannery at Abbotsbury, or the golden sands of Weymouth. This wonderful location makes an ideal base for a great family holiday.

Please be advised as part of essential West Bay Coastal Defence works to improve flood defences there will be some disruption to the West Bay area as follows:
West Beach will be closed 8 April 2019 until 5 Jul 2019.
The western side of East beach will be closed 8 April 2019 to 5 Jul 2019.
Public access to eastern side of East Beach will remain open during majority of works.
East Beach will be fully closed for a 2 week period between 23 April 2019 and 24 May 2019 (dates TBC)
