“Beautiful peaceful countryside, cosy wooden lodge, lovely ambience, warm and perfect for our Christmas break.”
When we decided to go away this Christmas. We didn’t know what to expect as it was a first.
Loading up the car with extra lights, decorations and a small tree amongst the many other things you need to take for kids aged 3 and 6. We arrived after a long journey only be pleasantly surprised.
Met by the father in law beaming as he discovered just how gorgeous and cosy the cottage was. The lights outside twinkled in the twilight and the kids darted excitedly into the house up the small steps to discover the house all ready for Christmas.
A cosy, warm, lovely wooden lodge, with the perfect ambience created by a glowing fire, sparkling Christmas tree lights, festive flowers, festive toilet roll, festive biscuits, ingredients for a full English breakfast, bottle of fizz, country local milk, mince pies and snacks for the dog, bubble bath for the kids, stair gate, high chair with toddler snacks.
The kitchen had everything you needed to get cooking - olive oil, kitchen roll, salt, pepper, matches, tea bags, coffee. Everything you need to keep the kitchen clean, tea towels, scourers, dish wash tabs, wash up liquid and did clothes. Mod cons such as kettle, ironing board, microwave, decent sized fridge ( very small freezer) etc.
It was really a home from home.
We loved our Christmas here. Peaceful county walks, dinner in our local town (The walnut inn) chats by the fire, kids creating loads of exploring games in the cabin, snuggling by the TV, laughter.
Christmas dinner wasn’t even that stressful and perfectly manageable. Probably need extra pots and sharper knives. That’s about it.
Everything was thought of. And much appreciated. A lot of love and good memories left in this stunning holiday home.
It was absolutely wonderful and we cherished our time here. Thank you so much.
