“Nuke is a lovely property, tastefully decorated and quality furniture.”

Secure behind electric gates and very peaceful. Thanks for welcome pack, a nice gesture. The TV and controller is a big problem as mentioned by previous people. The downstairs toilet seat needs replacing as the hinge appears broken. There was a lack of washing up liquid and surface cleaner to keep the kitchen spotless during our stay so we called at Dream cottage management agency round the corner who supplied us with some on request. As we travelled by train to Weymouth we couldn’t bring these items so it would be worth considering in the future please. We have booked again for next year so hopefully the few problems will be resolved and we can give 5 stars!

Thank you for your feedback, we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay enough to rebook again for next year. We pay the holiday agency to take care of the cleaning, linen and provision of things like toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. They have recently pared back certain things like washing up liquid (they now just leave a sachet rather than a bottle) and we are thinking about changing providers now as we want to try to maintain a high standard wherever possible (the agency will still take the bookings, just won't oversee the cleaning). Please always do call into the Dream Cottages office (owned by Sykes) as they are authorised to help our guests. The so called "smart" TV we only recently purchased for the property seems to be too clever for its own good. If you press and hold the power button it does a complete shutdown and does not go into standby mode - is then difficult to turn back on without turning it off at the mains. The buttons on the remote are light, one touch only and then, to complicate things the TV has the take a second or two to think about what it needs to do before changing the channel or switching off hence people are pressing the buttons for longer periods and repeat pressing which causes it to jump around. We are reluctant to get rid of a nearly new TV but if it continues to cause problems we may have to, as putting notes all over it telling people what to do is not ideal really. The loo seat hinge isn't broken it had just become loose, it is now tightened and secure. Property Owner

The property

Nuke is a charming two-bedroom mews house in a small gated development, which historically provided the stables for the Brewery horses, but has now been renovated into these pretty houses.

Enter Nuke through the stable door and you step into the light and bright living and dining area, featuring a plush corner sofa and TV, for those evenings when you want to relax in front of your favourite TV shows.

Next, you will find the kitchen which hosts everything you need to rustle up something tasty in the evening after a day of exploring Weymouth.

Moving up the property, on the first floor there are two bedrooms, one being the master bedroom with en-suite shower room, and the second is a neat twin room, while across the way sits the family bathroom which contains a corner bath for a bit of luxury pamper time on your holiday.

At the front of the property there is a small decked area with two chairs for you to make use of on those balmy summer evenings, enabling you to enjoy the last of the sun for the day with a glass of wine.

The harbour is just five minutes' walk from Nuke, so you can make use of the secure parking, and venture out on foot to most of the places you will want to visit, such as Newton's Cove beach or Nothe Gardens.

There is an excellent variety of cafes and restaurants in Weymouth, so if you don't fancy cooking, you are spoilt for choice, or maybe you just want to have some fish and chips on the harbour side!

A great day out is Weymouth Sealife Adventure Park, where you can see the only colony of Fairy penguins living in the UK, or during summertime you can cool down in the Splash Zone with the children's outdoor pool and fountains.

Nuke would be the ultimate home-away-from-home for a young family or a couple on a romantic break.
