“Loved our stay for the second time at Monarch.”

Clean,comfortable and quiet.A real home from home with lovely views over the harbour.The thoughtful Welcome Packs, were also an added bonus. The only drawback being the amount of stairs up to the apartment.But as OAP's,we still managed them ok and hope to return again soon.

“I absolutely loved staying here at Monarch.”

It’s a quaint little flat right by the harbour. The view from the balcony is beyond stunning. Watching the boats come and go in the mornings and evenings was mesmerising. The flat has everything you need for your stay with all the essentials that you need. It was clean, tidy and comfortable. Your right by the harbour and town centre. Weymouth beach is just a 10 to 15 minute walk away. Nothe gardens is not far away either if you fancy a quiet walk by the sea. I loved staying here and the welcome hamper was very much appreciated especially the pint of milk in the fridge as a cup of tea was much needed when I arrived. I would love to come back and stay here again. Weymouth is beautiful place to come and visit.

“This is a little gem of a place for couples or a single person.”

We were fully aware of the 52 stairs to the apartment so prepared for it! The worse bit is unloading luggage and getting it up the stairs . It’s worth it ,A quiet private apartment overlooking the harbour and harbour life. Probably one of cleanest places we have stayed in (thank you to staff)with fresh white bed linen .All self catering should have a welcome pack and the Dorset welcome hamper was perfect! A small TV on bedroom wall is food for thought plus something to allow the bedroom door to be slightly ajar overnight so it doesn’t bang or open wide. You can hear the clock chiming overnight which we loved as it’s so unusual these days ! Booked last minute to see “the shires” at the pavilion theatre , 10 minute walk fab evening with locals and staff , check what’s on can recommend. Lovely place , ideal location easy parking outside with a pass included ( October out of season) Wouldn’t hesitate to re-book .

“Very comfortable, clean and well - equipped accommodation with superb views over the harbour.”

Great location but also no distance from the town shops and facilities. You feel part of the harbour community when staying here. We parked at the Nothe car park on arrival which is free from 18.00 until 08.00. This allowed us time to assess when to park outside the accommodation when slots became available. The welcome hamper was much appreciated.

“We absolutely loved this property, everything you could want in a very comfortable & nicely appointed property.”

A perfect place to relax & watch the world go by, with great views across the lovely old harbour area. Everything we needed close by, including a lovely artisan bakery with great coffee too a few feet away & convenience store plus lots of choice of nice pubs & cafes & fish & chips. Right on the quay outside we took the boat ‘My Girl’ around the bay & over to Portland & enjoyed a faster ride out to Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door. In fact apart from moving the car once from the car park near Nothe Gardens (where we had to park on arriving as all the street parking was full) to a place right outside the following morning, we didn’t have to drive anywhere all week. We enjoyed lovely long walks along the coastal paths & promenade & hopped on the Land Train too. We definitely intend to return.

“The apartment was very well equipped and had a lovely view.”

The shower was easy to use.could have done with a shower mat though. The bed was very comfortable. Would have preferred a table and chairs, rather than a breakfast bar facing the kitchen wall, and have the living room furniture facing the view. All in all it was a great place to stay.

“We loved our stay at Monarch.”

The location right on the harbour side was lovely. A short walk over the bridge to Weymouth beach and town centre. Monarch is on the top floor, 50 steps, this could be a problem for some people, but you then have the wonderful views of the harbour. The apartment was well equipped and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The welcome hamper was a nice touch.

“A lovely flat for two people with fantastic views across Weymouth harbour.”

Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Would definitely recommend provided you are able to climb three flights of stairs to gain access. Well worth it once you are inside as the view is second to none. The small hamper and the milk left in the fridge for us were very welcome as it enabled us to make a cup of tea as soon as we arrived. Would love to have stayed longer and would love to return as soon as possible.

The welcome hamper was a lovely extra and the quality of the goods inside was exceptional. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and provided everything we needed, it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We would definitely recommend this apartment for a stay in the heart of Weymouth to anyone.

I would suggest little basics to supply such as hand soap pump, foil, cling wrap, toilet paper, tissues, paper towel as we normally find these available. Do not publish this. Can publish- Wonderful accommodation with the BEST view in the harbour! Situated in a bustling quay with very friendly locals with many tourists in the summer. A short drive to beautiful locations such as Chesil Beach and Durdle Door. Be sure to visit Chapelhey Tavern where the locals own and run the pub. Open the doors to the sounds of seagulls and a working harbour each morning. Just amazing.

“I had a wonderfully peaceful stay in Monarch at the end of June.”

The previous reviews did not lie, the view over the harbour is absolutely fabulous and I enjoyed having a drink in the evening and a coffee in the morning on the balcony watching the harbour at work! The kitchen was well equipped and I very much appreciated the delicious welcome hamper! The bed was comfortable and the bedding just right for warm nights (with a huge bedspread addition if it's not so warm). The bathroom was spotless much like the rest of the apartment and common areas. The apartment is perfectly located in the harbour close enough to great places to eat and shop but just far enough away to be quiet at night (aside from the seagulls who never seemed to take a break!) With the beach a 5 minute walk around the corner you have everything you could need. I can't recommend Monarch enough as a fabulous place to stay in a wonderful town and am looking forward to getting back soon.

This was the second time at the property and well worth the trip back from Wales the view from the balcony is breathtaking and you could sit there all day watching the world go by very clean property and everything you need and the welcome hamper is a very nice touch although you could stay in the property the whole time of your stay there is plenty to do on the doorstep I would highly recommend this Monarch and hopefully be back soon

The apartment is spotlessly clean and has absolutely everything you need to have a great stay. Lovely welcome pack left in the very well equipped kitchen. The balconies are small but lovely to sit on and enjoy the terrific views whilst enjoying food and drinks. Feel the buzz of the harbour but close out any noise by simply closing the French doors. Really can’t think of anything negative to say about our stay. Highly recommend.

“Overall a very nice place to stay and somewhere I'd happily revisit, though there are minor caveats.”

The location is excellent and the balcony is a lovely place to sit, eat and watch the world go by. The harbour is lively, but not irritatingly noisy. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and a sizeable fridge/freezer and the furniture is all very comfortable. On the potential downside, the flat is on the top floor of an old building and the ceilings are fairly low. If you're under five feet nine you won't have any problems. Taller than that and you begin to risk minor concussion in doorways. If you're a lot more than six feet tall, it simply won't be workable. Don't make the same mistake as me and be sure to take good note of the instructions for entering the building. There isn't a traditional keypad and this can be very confusing if you're super tired after a long journey and have no experience with that sort of device. Otherwise, just a few minor things that could be easily improved. Thicker curtains/blinds in the bedroom would help to block out the strong high summer early morning light. An electric fan should be provided (this could easily be stored in one of the cupboards during the cooler months): ventilation is good when the windows/doors are open, but when closed to keep out noise and light it can get a little stuffy. It would also be good to have a light summer duvet or light blanket for the warmer months. I would also recommend providing a knife sharpener.

“Monarch is a lovely apartment and, from the balconies, possibly has some of the best views in Weymouth.”

The location is ideal as it provides easy access to amenities, shops and public transport. A spare cupboard in the kitchen for food storage would be useful plus a cabinet in the bathroom. The middle drawers on the chest of drawers were very difficult to open! Will most certainly look to return to Monarch.

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach.
