“As we stupidly left our key inside we had to call a locksmith.”

A second key left in key box would have been very useful ! Cottage is very comfortable, only complaint we have is as we are avid readers , the ambient lighting in the lounge and bedroom made reading in the evening impossible, so slightly disappointing.

It's just a shame that we only found out about your issues with the key and reading lamps after you had returned home, this unfortunately did not give us the opportunity to resolve them for you immediately. We are always willing to provide a second key on request, and as we live very close by would have popped straight over to avoid you calling a locksmith (all guests are provided with our contact number for any possible assistance that may be required). Likewise for the reading lamps, these are indeed provided for the use of guests if desired, and we would have been more than happy to have helped you locate the two USB reading lights which are kept in the main cupboard in the living area. “We loved the cottage.”

Home from home for us. It's got everything you need and is well equipped with great harbour views from the front bedroom. A welcome hamper and a bottle of fizz is a great touch. The parking on roads around the property is hit and miss. We just parked opposite the Nothe Tavern (5/10 mins walk) for simplicity. It costs around £6/7 for 24 hours. It's free from 6pm till 8am anyway. I just kept topping up on the app. The property is clean and well maintained but obviously the owner allows dogs so don't expect it to be 100% perfect. They kept us well informed about everything. In short we loved it. So thanks!

“Delightful terraced property with some beautiful features inside and a charming little garden to catch the sun and enjoy a drink in the evening.”

A few steps up to the property from the main road below but taxis run from the station to the road above for those that may need it. Will definitely be returning as there is still so much to see and do if you like walking, boating, swimming and enjoying local pubs etc

“We had such a relaxing break at 6 The Terrace.”

This is a unique property which is beautifully styled. The owners have thought of everything in order to make your stay comfortable. The large bathroom was light and bright with an excellent rainfall shower and lots of spare fluffy towels and loo rolls. During our two weeks we had great weather so were able to enjoy the very sunny back garden which was such a tranquil haven. The views from the front bedroom are breathtaking and this is one of the few places in Weymouth where you will have such a view. Our hosts kindly left us a generous basket of treats, including biscuits, coffee, teas, dog biscuits, milk in the fridge and a bottle of Prosecco! They collected our rubbish midway through our stay so we didn’t have to deal with it also. We felt instantly at home in no 6 and would highly recommend a stay there. Thank you to Jane and Ian for their hospitality and keeping in touch during our stay to ensure we had all we needed. No 6 will last in our memories and is one of a kind!

“6 The Terrace is a beautiful property, very clean, as the owners take care of this themselves.”

On arrival we had fresh flowers, milk in fridge, a lovely welcome basket with tea, coffee, biscuits, jam,etc, even treats for our dog, lovely touch, (Woody says thanks! ) The house is lovely, so well decorated, with a log burning fire, equipped with items to use. The living room is large, cosy, has games in cupboard, also cupboard with dog bowls, blankets, even dog baskets, if you have a small dog. The large sofa was very comfortable, also dining table was of good size. Kitchen had all utensils you could need and more, lovely cooker, coffee machine, washing machine and dryer, ironing board and iron, cleaning materials. Up the stairs are 2 comfortable bedrooms, well decorated. The largest bedroom had a lovely view over Weymouth. Large bathroom, had big walk in shower, also bath. Again, well equipped with plenty of towels,hand soap, shampoo, wash, and moisturiser. The back garden is tastefully done, even had a quirky little outside loo. The owner was very friendly and approachable if we needed anything while we were there. We had a lovely stay at this property, and after staying at other Sykes cottages over the many years of holidays in Weymouth, can honestly say that we have finally found our favourite place, and will definitely be back again!

“The cottage was lovely.”

We arrived in the dark and the owners had kindly left some lights and the heating on for us. All the rooms are decorated to a high standard and are very comfortable. Lovely views over the harbour and further in to Weymouth. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bathroom was lovely and light with a great shower. We will definitely be returning in the summer months and will make use of the garden also.

“We (couple, toddler, grandparents and dog) had a wonderful stay at The Terrace on November.”

The cottage has been kitted out to a very high spec while still being true to its original character. There was a lovely welcome pack including doggy treats and a high chair available for our little one. The kitchen has everything you could need with a fabulous range. Bathroom and shower were great. Beds were very comfortable and spacious. Woodburning stove kept us nice and cosy too. Access was easy via parking a mins walk away and the views over the harbour are spectacular. Lovely pubs, restaurants and beach all withing a 5-10 min walk. The whole property was spotless on arrival and Jane was very responsive to a question I had. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough.

The owners have gone above and beyond with decorating the place. It is truly beautiful and inspiring with the decor. There was everything there to make our stay comfortable including a lovely basket of goodies. I met Jane when we arrived there early and she was a very welcoming and helpful lady. The situation of the cottage is very close to the town with just a few steps and a ramp up to it. Parking near to the cottage is not possible but we found a space nearby on the roadside a short walk away.

“We loved our stay at 6 The Terrace and have booked for another week next year.”

We enjoyed the views over the harbour from the front bedroom. The bow sash window is a wonderful feature. We found everything about the decoration and furnishing of this quirky, cosy, stylish home delightful. It has been a great pleasure to stay here. The kitchen is spacious with a large gas hob, ovens and grill. There is plenty of room in the fridge and freezer. We enjoyed using some of the wide range of kitchen utensils, table ware and glassware. It was great to have a bathroom with a roll-top bath, walk in shower, large basin and stylish furnishings. We sat out for lunch one day in the garden at the back of the cottage and enjoyed the garden, garden furniture and statues in the borders. One of the benefits of staying in Weymouth is the easy access on the bus or train to explore other places in and around Dorset. We visited Bridport and West Bay, Lyme Regis and Portland on the bus and Dorchester on the train for its Wednesday Market Day. We walked to Portland Bill making use of the Rodwell Trail and swam in the sea at Church Ope Cove. A perfect holiday.

“Just returned from a fantastic week at 6 The Terrace.”

The cottage is beautiful and has everything you could need - and more! The welcome hamper was very much appreciated after a long drive down and the views over the harbour were stunning. Jane (the owner) was especially helpful as I had to change a couple of details about the booking, and we had a little issue with the hot water one morning, but it was rectified speedily and we were kept updated at all times. The location of the cottage is great, just a few minutes walk to the quayside and then round to the beach. I would just flag up that parking is not easy. We ended up renting a space in a nearby street (The Maltings, 5-10 min walk down/up the hill). This was money well spent as we hardly ever saw a free space near the cottage (it was half term week). That being said, I wouldn’t hestitate to stay at the cottage again, it made a fabulous home for us for a week and I’m already missing waking up to those wonderful views! Thank you Jane and Ian!

Very homely with everything you could possibly need for your stay. It was a real home from home. The welcome basket was incredible and full of goodies !!! The Beach is a 10 minute walk away - and what a beach !! The dog loved it and we walked miles !! Also 10 mins away is Nothe Gardens for a bit of quiet. The cottage was in easy reach of the town centre and the beach. The cottage was home from home, it was warm, cosy and very stylish. There was a problem with the local water one morning which meant there was no water. Jane (the owner) and Sykes cottages couldn't be more helpful in getting it sorted and keeping us posted as to what was going on. “Absolutely lovely.”

Great views, clean and comfortable. On our arrival we appreciated a fabulous welcome pack, the cottage was very well equipped and just a short walk to the harbour with plenty of shops, coffee shops and restaurants, we'll definitely be back. The only downside was we were cold in the evenings, I feel that curtains or blinds on the french doors would have made a big difference (being January and cold temperatures) in warmer seasons this wouldn't be an issue of course.

“Once in the cottage we had a very comfortable stay, but getting in was a faff.”

It was a good job we had the foresight to book a private parking space for the duration of the stay of it would have been impossible. The lack of road access to the property should be better called out right upfront, as should the narrow steep steps to the first floor. Beyond that the cottage was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with everything we needed for our stay.

Our 200 year old cottage is located in a peaceful position enjoying sea and harbour views from the first floor, yet just a few minutes walk from the old harbour. Parking is usually available on nearby streets on a first come first served basis, and we are pleased that you were able to make your own parking arrangements in advance. We have noted your comments regarding the staircase, and would just like to point out that this is of a standard construction for a two hundred year old cottage, as illustrated in the photographs of the stairs on our web page. “We have stayed at this idyllic property a few weeks ago.”

We were overwhelmed how well presented this property was and its awesome location. In fact, we are still talking about it now. There was everything we needed and more including a tray filled with goodies for us and our little dog which was a lovely surprise indeed. We go to Weymouth every year, but this is our top fave place now,We also had a privilege to meet the lovely owner, who told us a little bit about the property history which was another little bonus. Street parking is available close by.

“WOW! WOW!”

WOW! This cottage is something else! It truly has everything and more that you could ask for! Every single detail has been thought about, from fixtures and fittings to salt and pepper! The view from the beautiful bedroom is one you will love. Even caters for your dog as well! Would 100% stay again, we even had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were fabulous! If Weymouth is the place for you, this cottage is the one to pick!

“We stay in Weymouth every year and I have to say, the cottage has to be our favourite so far.”

The location was amazing - its just a moments walk down to Brewers Quay and the harbour. Although there is no parking directly outside the cottage, we were always able to find a space on the roads close to the property. The cottage in itself was stunning - I really need whoever came up with the interior design concepts to come to mine as I am going through a refurb! There was everything in the cottage needed for a thoroughly enjoyable stay for us all, including the most fluffiest of white towels. The beds were so unbelievably comfortable which did make it difficult to get up in the morning, although the amazing views over the harbour from the bedroom window did help! The owners provided a welcome tray which was so thoughtful, leaving items for all the family and ensuring I had the necessary items to have a much need cuppa when we arrived. Even the dog had her own treats and a dog bed and bowls were provided too! I would thoroughly recommend this property. The children loved the cottage and have asked if we can book again for next year!

“We had a lovely 4 nights at this house in Weymouth this week.”

The house itself is beautiful, with lovely views of the harbour from the bedroom. Everything provided was a bonus, I could have packed lighter! They even provided a gorgeous little hamper on arrival. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time!

“Fantastic stay, beautiful cottage which is approx 150m from harbour.”

The cottage us sited on the hill above the harbour. Everything needed was provided. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Parking is on the streets nearby to the cottage but we always managed to find space. Lovely welcome package provided on arrival.

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
