    “Overall, our stay was okay.”

The proximity to the bay and the garden were the biggest selling points in our view. The garden is spacious but it could be improved with additional seating areas (perhaps a bench somewhere), a barbecue, sun loungers and a hose for cleaning muddy dogs. The property fell short with some of the basics, including cleanliness (there were stains on towels, bath mats and pillows for example), dirty crockery, a lack of glasses, as well as pans in such poor condition that we didn't use the kitchen ...

The proximity to the bay and the garden were the biggest selling points in our view. The garden is spacious but it could be improved with additional seating areas (perhaps a bench somewhere), a barbecue, sun loungers and a hose for cleaning muddy dogs. The property fell short with some of the basics, including cleanliness (there were stains on towels, bath mats and pillows for example), dirty crockery, a lack of glasses, as well as pans in such poor condition that we didn't use the kitchen for cooking outside of breakfast. The listing was also somewhat misleading regarding dog friendliness. While the fenced garden was a real positive, upon arrival we learned that dogs aren't allowed either on furniture or in the bedrooms, which should be advertised as part of the listing. We would also suggest to put chicken wire at the bottom of the small gate at the end of the garden. Some small dogs (like ours) could otherwise find a way to escape. There were several small issues that could be resolved quite easily: no soap dishes or towel holders, missing basic kitchen essentials (such as pepper), a DVD player that we couldn't get working, more garden games. The availability of cooker and main kitchen appliances were great (though we didn't use most) but overall the property didn't feel like the "home away from home" we've experienced in other holiday rentals. It was a decent stay but nothing special so unfortunately we wouldn't return.

Thank you for your comments and I am sorry your stay didn’t live up to expectations. We always take careful consideration of guest feedback and you made some valid comments. We respond as follows: 1. We will install a hose by the outside tap and put chicken wire under the gate. 2. The cottage is always cleaned to the highest standard by the same housekeeper who has looked after the cottage for over 20 years. We have often been complimented on the standard of cleanliness so it is most unfortunate that you found otherwise. 3. In response to your comments we have upgraded the glasses and serving dishes and attended to the other kitchen items. 4. We love dogs but out of respect for future guests we always request that dogs are kept out of the bedrooms and off the furniture. Unfortunately we have had visitors who have not respected this. We will make this clear in the listing. Property Owner
