“Further to our problem with the electricity supply thursday evening and our eventual contact with you via the neighbours,I trust that that the supply has been checked and confirmed safe for the next visitors.”

I eventually found that the problem was caused by the central heating tripping the main rcb switch. I was suprised to see the electric box for the central heating appeared to be solely a normal fuse which appeared contacted direct to the fuse box bus bar rather than by a rcb? I eventually found that the problem was caused by the central heating tripping the main rcb switch. I was suprised to see the electric box for the central heating appeared to be solely a normal fuse which appeared contacted direct to the fuse box bus bar rather than by a rcb? I may be wrong but none of the rcb tripped and none of them was listed as central heating. Apart from that the cottage was well supplied and very comfortable.New TVinstalled and the milk and biscuits items appreciated. The light in the inner porch did not work? I would suggest that the wooden worktops are sanded back and then sealed to prevent the cup stains etc. We did leave some food items in the fridge, still in date as we had a limited evening and morning due to the electric problem. Regards

Thankyou for letting us know about the electrical issue and sorry this happened during your stay. I have already emailed our normal electrician to come out before the next guest and thankyou for your lovely comments about the cottage- we think it is well supplied and comfortable. We have been planning on getting the worktops sanded and treated this winter while we are quiet, but again thankyou for pointing this out. I will ensure the porch light works as well as it has worked so probably the bulb. We are so pleased you had a lovely stay. Property Owner

About the location

BRIDPORT

Lyme Regis 10 miles; West Bay 2 miles.

The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.
