Lovely cottage.

Nice quiet setting. Good stock of china . glasses and cutlery. The dinner chairs wobbly or fall apart when lifting (needs new glue in joints) did notify the caretaker. Yes we had flys and ants but we are in the country side. Would look at booking again.

Such a lucky find at short notice.

Spotlessly clean and so well equipped and comfortable. The games room an added bonus for teenage grandson. Have already recommended to friends and will definitely stay again.

A really lovely place in a great setting, plenty of equipment supplied in the accommodation, we had a lovely family stay and the games room is a real bonus and lots of fun.

From the minute we walked in we all felt very comfortable and at home, everything we needed was there.

We all had a really enjoyable and relaxed time and would definitely recommend the property to anyone wanting to unwind.

The location is peaceful and relaxing a great base to explore Dorset.

Safe enclosed garden area for your dog. It was just perfect for us we would definitely go back.

Property was spacious and very comfortable.

Had everything we needed for our week. Walk right outside the barn up to the woods was really lovely and the children loved the playroom, such a great addition to the stay. Great location as in we could get to visit a lot of the area easily, we managed to explore a lot of Dorset. However a couple of things that would have made the stay easier. With having a wheelchair user we were unable to shower her. Shower was too small and with her not being able to stand for long we just couldn’t make it work. Thats on me as I should have checked before booking. The property worked great in all other aspects for her. Some more comfortable outside seating would be a real bonus. We had such lovely weather, would have been lovely to sit and enjoy a book in the sun. Picnic table ideal for eating at, but not relaxing. Finally the flies really did start to annoy. There were so many, found it hard to relax and sleep with them buzzing about. Very difficult with the warm weather to control and there was fly spray to try and help.

Really enjoyed our stay lovely clean rooms and even included biscuits and tea, coffee and pint of milk in the fridge , which was a great idea.

Found the double bed hard and sofa uncomfortable but everything else was perfect.

Unable to find any fault except the flies which you might expect from a farm. Games room second to none. The whole sight very quiet and peaceful overall.

The Old Stables is a beautiful place to stay and the courtyard as a whole was really well looked after.

The Stables were immaculate, clean and had everything you could need from games, DVDs, and a really useful handbook to some lovely biscuits in the Welcome Pack. Great to see EV chargers installed as well as a really nice games room with air hockey, table tennis and a pool table all free to use. The Blanford area is really beautiful and we'd love to come back again in the future.

We only had a very short stay, for a wedding, but this was the perfect accommodation for the wedding party.

We would definitely want to book again and spend more time enjoying the area and the lovely accommodation facilities.

This has been one of the best cottages we have stayed at for location,cleanliness ,facilities and the best equipped ever.

I usually take the basics ie hand soap,wash liquid,detergent,etc all there plus cleaning products and bin bags.10/10 The setting is tranquil with a lovely shared central green. The games room was well equipped and our Grandaughter loved it.Even toys if you needed.Love Dorset 4th time.Hope to book again if available

Been in a few holiday cottages and this was certainly a treasure. Will recommend and certain to use again when visiting Dorset again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Stables and found the accommodation to the spacious, clean and well equipped.

The toilet flush mechanism in the ensuite toilet requires servicing and the accommodation would benefit from an in-house ironing board and iron. Apart from those minor issues, the Old Stables was excellent.

The photos didn’t give the cottage justice - a lot nicer than expected.

What a fabulous property this is!

The photos don’t really do it justice. Everything is provided and the conversion has been very elegantly done. It was clean and comfortable and easy to warm up when we arrived. We hired a cottage for 6 and other family members were able to join us by hiring one of the other cottages. An excellent location for larger groups. Thank you.

Fantastic property in a beautiful location.

The place was absolutely spotless, including all outside areas and shared games room. The property is well stocked with everything you can think of. Special touches provided such as tea, coffee, milk and cleaning products were most appreciated. Although we didn't light it, everything needed for the log burner was also supplied, with extras available to buy on site. 10/10 would definitely recommend, no buts or ifs! Location is in a beautiful village and surrounding areas worth a visit as all stunning. Pub is walkable, but no pavement so bring a torch if you're heading back in the dark! Garden secure for dog.

Well equipped, comfortable and clean cottage with easy access to woodland and field dog walks from the door.

Quality finishes including all you need to self-cater, comfortable bed and sofas and quality shower and bath. Peaceful setting although with easy access to towns, country pubs and coast. Would definitely return and recommend without hesitation.

We stayed as a family of 5 at the old stables for 7 nights.

When we arrived, we were impressed with how clean the property was and the facilities. My children loved the games room and that was a real bonus on the rainy days we had. The property was well kitted out with all the equipment you could need. Plenty of crockery, glasses and cooking utensils. I was especially impressed there was hand wash in every bathroom and the kitchen. There was rinse aid, dishwasher tablets and washing powder and softener for the duration of our stay. It was a lovely touch to have some biscuits and milk left for us after a long journey. We also arrived to fully stocked teabags and sugar. The location of the old stables is perfect and close to all amenities. The crown pub down the road is excellent. If I would recommend anything is improved, I would say the mattresses. They are so hard and don’t offer much support to your back and hips and even my children thought they were hard. Whilst I recognise the importance of durability, I think this is the only minor negative of the accommodation. We will definitely be back and I wouldn’t let the hard mattress put me off.

Nice comfortable accommodation.

Rather disappointed that we werent allow bbq's. Could benefit from having a shoe rack / cupboard by door as no where to put shoes. Unsuite shower cubicle rather cramped also door was broken but we managed to fix it enough to use. We mentioned it to cleaner when we left. Games room was good. Nice area and good walks for the dogs.

Even some tea and biscuits for arrivals. The games room was a lovely little extra to do and kept my kids fully entertained when trying to cook the dinner. A lovely week in a lively location

A lovely comfortable cottage with a very well equipped kitchen and all mod cons.

The garden area at the front was great for our 2 small dogs, and the games room was a nice bonus. It is our second time at Hedge End Farm cottages, and will definitely return again. Would recommend it very highly.

This was our second visit to the stables, and as before everything we ever needed was there, as soon as you opened the door it was all there waiting, including biscuits and milk!

Our family who were there for some of the time loved it all too. They all enjoyed the games room and had many games of pool there. Its just so peaceful in the countryside there. No hesitation in recommending the stables!

Although it does mention a step in the hallway, it would be really great if a rail could be attached by the step for the mobility challenged people.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay for two nights at The Old Stables.

The accommodation was just perfect for what we needed and it provided easy access to some great countryside sights and the coast. Everything we could have possibly needed was provided - I've never seen so many cups, glasses etc ... and loved the biscuits :) The only downside was when we first arrived, I walked along the corridor to the end bedroom and hadn't switched the light on. I didn't notice the step, went flying and hit the floor on my knees. I didn't notice anything about the step on the accommodation details (of course I may have missed it), so it would be worth making it a bit clearer if possible as if my elderly mother-in-law had walked down there first, the situation could have been a lot worse. It didn't spoil our break at all - just tender knees for a few days ;) - and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you very much and wishing you all a wonderful Christmas in the meantime. Sue

Had booked 4 cottages for all the family.

All cottages very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The games room was great for all the children of mixed ages to get together. They loved it.

Lovely spacious bungalow. Clean, well presented and perfect for a family and pet. The games room is also clean and well maintained and provided us with hours of fun.

The old stables was in a well positioned, quiet area with easy access to places.

The accommodation was as described and had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. It was wonderful to relax around the log burner after a day out. I'd have no hesitation in returning to any one of the properties on offer here.

Lovely clean well equipped cottage one of six surrounding a central lawn.

Clearly been deep cleaned with strict Covid guidelines in place. Great area for walking the dog, there is a footpath immediately opposite that takes you through woods and fields. Good safe location with easy distance to the sea.

We were very pleased with the spacious property and overall cleanliness.

The guest information book was very helpful, and provided us with ideas and inspiration about where to visit and best beaches etc . As an observation for the owners, I would suggest upgrading the shower facilities in The Stables. I had to temporarily rig up the shower head in bathroom 1 as the holder grip was flimsy which meant the shower head kept falling out of its mounting when using the shower. The shower cubicle in bathroom 2 is too small for an average sized adult to shower without banging elbows and ability to move around to wash was a little awkward. The water pressure is great but the cubicle sliding doors kept shifting off their mounting and I kept having to refit them after I had showered. Apart from that, everything else was fantastic. Would thoroughly recommend.

It was exactly what we wanted.

The fire was amazing to have also. Not that we needed it on as it was already toastie (we did use it though) Very clean. Instructions for appliances very easy to understand. The cake was a lovely touch. Sofa was really comfy as were the beds. Perfect weekend. And if it wasn't for wether, the picnic bench and outside area definetly would have been used. Fantastic weekend. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable, and dog friendly.

It was also well situated for exploring all of Dorset, with some lovely places to visit within easy reach. Suitable for all ages.

Fantastic place, everything you need was provided, even a lovely lemon drizzle cake which is our fav!

We had a brilliant holiday it was really clean and the facilities were amazing everything you could need was supplied.

It was a nice touch when we arrived because they supplied tea coffee milk and even a cake which was very welcoming after a five hour drive. We would definitely go back. Also it was bigger than we expected and we really enjoyed the games room at no extra cost

The Old Stables was wonderful as ever.

We have been coming back for the last 3 years because it is so quiet, comfortable and spacious. It is so great for the children and dogs having your own fenced patch of lawn and patio. The property is well maintained and very clean.

This is an excellent place to stay with a young family.

The accommodation is all on one level, it contains a large and spacious living area with comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. The games/play room is brilliant when the weather isn't great and the garden areas are also safe and secure. The location of the cottage is also useful for various activities. The Tank Museum, Monkey World and various beaches are all within close and easy reach. We had a great time.

Amazing place - just as described.

All clean and functioning perfectly. The user’s handbook was really useful, except operating instructions for the hobb would have been brill but as we had easy access to the internet , instructions were easy to find on YouTube. The beds were so comfy and the cottage very cosy and we loved the wood burner. We used the games room too which was an added bonus. All in all a big thumbs up from us.

A beautiful & quiet location with great walks for our dogs.

The planted herb pot satisfied our culinary needs & the young people enjoyed the games room. Being all on one level was great for granddad. Everyone was happy-weather couldn’t have been better either. We bought the farm produced rapeseed oil, there was also meat had we wanted to buy it. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This area of Dorset is really charming and is yet another lovely part of our beautiful country. One minor point is that there could have been more sofas / arm chairs in the living room.

The Old Stables was a fabulous property with great attention to detail, from the local area ordnance survey map on the wall to the bag of dog treats.

It was extremely well equipped and the location was beautiful. We will be back.

So dog friendly!

Fenced private garden for each cottage, Dog bowls provided and you can walk from the door up into the bluebell woods. We also enjoyed the games barn , climbed a local hill, visited the beach and walked to the local pub where dogs were treated like super stars! I know weekends away aren’t all about the dogs but this venue made it so easy to enjoy ourselves, relax and not have to worry about the dogs.

It was lovely to arrive to a pint of milk in fridge and a cake so we could have a cuppa and cake after our journey .

.. the cottage was as we thought and was very home like .. the only thing we had to say is the table benches could of done with a cushion ..

Friendly and helpful staff at Sykes made this very easy.

Property was better than expected but if I had one tiny comment to make it was that the hoover there was useless! As we had two dogs with us I wanted to leave the place immaculate but couldn't really do it with the hoover. (even on high power) Everything else was perfect though.

This relates only to our stay at The Old Barn, Hedge End as we haven't stayed in any other Sykes Cottage

What a stunning cottage in a beautiful setting.

The cottage was a little tricky to find (due to road diversions) but once we reached it, we found a stunning place, a hidden gem almost. We booked for our son's 18th Birthday as he is based in Blandford nearby and although it was a gruelling 5.5 hour journey from Nottinghamshire for us, the cottage made it all worth while. There were 5 of us and two dogs. The local area has some gorgeous dog walks and there is a lovely pub 10 minutes away called the Greyhound (highly recommend - stunning food). The cottage was part of two or three more cottages all surrounding a small courtyard. There was a fab games room there too for all to use. The ONLY negative about our whole stay was the time we had to vacate the property (10am). Is was far too early and put a little dampener on the morning of our son's birthday. 11am or mid-day would have been so much better to get organised.

The property was maintained at a high level.

Furniture, bedding and towels were if a high standard and really comfortable The setting was ideal and beautiful. We made use of the games room, which was impressive. I have stayed in other cottages and we had to take absolutely everything with us, but the owners seem to have thought if everything you might need. It was also really helpful to have drawers full of info on the local area and attractions of Dorset. There were games, books and DVDs also in the property. We will definately be returning. We're very grateful that the owner allowed us to bring 3 dogs.

It was very relaxed and child friendly. This really helps as we don't want to be stressing about safety or things getting damaged for example hard floors in the main living area. The location is great and the accommodation had everything we could need while we're away.
