Thimble Cottage

This cottage was very conveniently placed for places to visit in Dorset.

A major plus was the ability to charge our car every night on the drive. Short distance to supermarkets made it easy to shop for food and other supplies. Only downside was the lack of any cleaning materials (sprays, sponges, etc), so had to buy our own.

We regularly visit properties.

This is the nicest we have seen ever. Very spacious end a great garden. Our dogs were also very happy. Very helpfull owner. Great welcome pakage. Great visitor information.

Re this property. Definitely want to book again for next year. So clean and bright and airy. Lovely garden. Everything supplied. Even treats/bowl/blankets for dogs. Lovely size fridge and freezer. Much appreciated welcome pack including milk and bread. Bed super comfy. Shower easy to operate and fab. Everything you need for a fabulous holiday. Super soft and super huge bath towels! Amazing! 5*+ from us.

Absolutely beautiful little cottage with a lovely cosy inside that really is home from home.

Comfortable furniture, excellent kitchen facilities, lovely bathroom with a huge bath, utility room perfect for muddy boots & drying dogs and a lovely large bedroom with a comfortable bed. Mind your head on the beams but that's all part of the charm. Great garden, fully enclosed & secure, outside seating & dining space, off road parking & electric car charging. Immaculately clean with helpful hosts and plenty of information on things to do & places to see. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back to this fabulous cottage.

We had such a lovely time at Thimble Cottage.

It was so clean and literally everything has been thought of. It was like a home away from home! There are some beautiful walks right on your doorstep and some lovely places within a half hour drive. We hope to come back in future.

Excellent accommodation.

This was a mid-winter visit and the heating was equal to the challenge. Assume no views from the cottage but it is bang in the middle of a great hill walking area, a few from the front door. Pub is not reliable for food (thought landlord was a bit 'hot and cold too') but there are many very good ones in the area

This was our second visit this year and we hope to return again.

It is a perfect cottage in an excellent area, so much to see and do and loads of wonderful walks nearby including some lovely ones from the cottage door. The owners are a lovely couple and have clearly put a lot of love and attention into making the cottage an excellent base for a holiday. It has everything you need for a great stay.

Thimble cottage was perfect.

Beautiful accommodation. Very comfy beds and sofas. Totally enclosed private garden completely dog safe. It was lovely to meet Simon and Bobbie. They were very friendly and the perfect hosts. On hand if needed but not intrusive. Thimble cottage was a lovely base to explore Dorset. We were very grateful for the lovely welcome goodies and the treats for our dog. Hopefully we will be back again.

We had a lovely stay at Thimble Cottage - cottage was lovely and clean and modern but cosy at the same time.

The garden was perfect for the dogs - a lovely suntrap too. We visited lots of places nearby; Sandbanks, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Weymouth & lovely walks at National Trust Kingston Lacy. The pub within walking distance serves lovely food too. Will be recommending & will look to visit again.

Overall the cottage is exceptional for facilities and comfort .

The garden is a great space for the dog and to sit and relax. Only small complaint was that the ironing board was very wobbly when in use and a wall mounted clock would be useful , apart from that I would recommend the cottage for a relaxing stay.

We had a lovely week at thimble cottage, immaculate beautifully decorated the welcome basket was a lovely surprise our 2 dogs loved the garden and the biscuit bones left for them the information basket was fully of lovely ideas of trips to do while in the area thimble cottage is so quiet and relaxing could not recommend enough

Everything you could possibly need. Spotlessly clean. Really Amazing location. Fresh bread milk and goodies on arrival for humans and doggies. The south west facing enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs and for us to sit in the sunshine. Great information provided about local attractions and amenities. We will definately be be booking again.

Thimble cottage is a lovely old thatched cottage with a modern comfortable interior.

Smart kitchen with everything we needed to cook. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows and the whole house was perfectly cleaned. Well situated for our ‘Dorset Walks’ book as it was right in the middle! Lots of places to see within easy reach. There’s a pub a few doors down that’s open part of the week. We had a lovely stay and appreciated the kind welcome left for us by the owners.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful village but near to tourist places.

After we left, we thought that this property should deserve six stars.

Spotlessly clean as if new, even the lawn is manicured....Thimble Cottage is set in a wonderful location, close to Blandford. and being centrally positioned it is just perfect as a base to explore Dorset....We did ! We loved it, despite the weather. The surrounding countryside is stunning, The cottage itself has a brilliant kitchen which we made use of every evening of our stay....coupled with a lovely big bathroom, It's like 'Home from home' because everything you could possibly need has been catered for. Dorset has a lot to offer, and can't be covered in a mere week...So we hope to revisit.

Lovely Cottage, The internal set out is wonderful.

Its location perfect for what we intended to use it for. However I only used it for one night due slipping down the bottom part of the stairs during first night resulting in breaking my hip. The wife used cottage rest of time and was more than happy

The cottage was everything we needed it to be with a dash of extra thrown in!

Simon and Bobbie's message before we arrived was very welcome and the basket of goodies when we got to the cottage was a lovely surprise... thank you so much! Our 2 vizslas were very well behaved and comfortable, not least helped by us being secure in knowing the hosts had catered for them also - a delightful touch for dog parents. The village is picturesque with some lovely accessible walks. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and having an enclosed garden area for the whizzy vizslas was perfect. Would definitely like to return.

Perfect location for exploring the Dorset Coast

A lovely property, ideal for our dogs, and in a good position for exploring Dorset.

A lovely, well equipped cottage and thoughtful welcome from the owners.

We did find the low beam one side of the bed a bit of a concern and also the half step downstairs in the lounge but we got used to them. It is well situated in a pretty little village and we would recommend Thimble Cottage and Skyes.

Thimble Cottage is a wonderful little place for a getaway.

Easy to get to and the sat nav takes you right to the door. The whole property looks bright and fresh and the lovely big garden and outside areas are 100% secure for your dogs. Even the most accomplished 4 legged escape artist would have to go some to get out. We had a Great Dane and a Chocolate Labrador and they loved the freedom to be able to wander around and bask in the sun. There a nice welcome pack for both your dogs and yourselves and this was a nice touch. The kitchen has everything that you could wish for and it’s unlikely that you’ll find yourself wanting for any utensil, pan or crockery. Dishwasher and washing machine both have tablets and capsules to suit the length of the stay. It has a smart TV with more than enough channels to keep you entertained. WiFi is good and allows communication to the rest of the world. (The mobile phone signal in a great deal of the surrounding area is a bit patchy.) The property sits just off the road through the village, but you do not get disturbed by what little traffic comes through. It’s in a great location to explore the local area and 30-40 minutes gets you to an abundance of sights. Would thoroughly recommend Thimble Cottage for your next getaway. Parking for one large car and an EV charging point if required.

Perfect for us and our two dogs. Thoughtful welcome packs left by the owners. Great communication before and during our stay. Would definitely come again if visiting Dorset.

Simon and Bobbie were very accommodating with an earlier check in on Christmas Eve. We had a lovely welcome pack for us and our dog. The cottage is so comfortable and there is everything you need for a perfect stay away from home. We would definitely recommend, lots of local walks and a pub just a few doors away. Butch loved the garden area and it is completely enclosed. We will be back hopefully very soon.

We chose Thimble cottage because it had an EV charger.

You need Monta app to charge your car and it was very easy. We also took two dogs with us and it was perfect as the garden was very secure and there were treats, bowls and some towels for muddy paws for them. The house was very equipped, comfortable and clean. We lived our stay there and would love to come back again.

Absolutely loved this cottage, immaculately clean, everything we needed was there, would definitely recommend and we certainly hope to go back at some point, large garden and completely secure for our dog.

When we arrived and entered, it was a real wow moment it looked fantastic. We had a lovely surprise welcome basket with our names on it, including our dog's! Would we stay there again, yes we would, well done Bobbie and Simon.

Well presented and well equipped property in a location that lends itself to travel the Jurassic coast in particular.

Absolutely immaculate and spotless in every way. The hosts had thought of everything and a lovely welcome pack greeted us. The local residents were extremely friendly and made us feel so welcome. A great base to explore Dorset Would recommend without hesitation.

An absolute gem of a holiday cottage!

It is immaculate in every way! Very clean and every imaginable item of kitchenware available. The garden is great for the dogs as it is very well fenced even for a small terrier. Situated in a quiet village with endless dog walking opportunities and friendly locals! Would happily have stayed longer and will definitely be back!
