We had a lovely stay overall, however there are some things that need to be addressed, especially if you are staying during winter months.
When we arrived the cottage was freezing, couldn’t get heating to work, called Dream cottages and they sorted us out with extra heaters and fixed the problem although that is what we thought. Heating needs to be on constant in the winter months as cottage gets so cold. Boiler is old and you can only control heating temperature from remote control, to access the boiler you need to pull the fridge out as located in the kitchen, it’s not easy to access. The cottage guide doesn’t not tell you how to do this, so it needs updating. The floors are all wooden and a little uneven with the odd tip of nail sticking out, so bring your slippers. Furniture and beds are comfy. Bathroom is at the back of the cottage and is cold, even with radiator on, it is also full of damp, paint peeling off the wall, so owner needs to sort that out. Garden very small and needs some TLC, road is a nightmare to park, but there is a car park close.
We needed a break, and the place was perfect to just spend time and be.
We had a lovely stay at the Georgian Hideaway.
It is well equipped, comfortable and excellently located for Weymouth's attractions. It was clean and tidy, other than a few cobwebs in the fireplace and we were left a generous welcome hamper. The bathroom is quite a trek from the loft room and most doors don't close well or lock, so sneaking around sleeping little ones can be difficult. The beds are on the firm side and all the linen was clean and fresh. Unfortunately, housekeeping had left the previous guests laundry in the hallway and it made bringing in the luggage and groceries a little tricky. The house was surprisingly quiet for the most part, but the single glazed windows do allow the seagulls noise in from dawn. Great value for the price and would recommend.
