Great position across from the beach and close to harbour and shops.

Very good base for exploring. Flat is well equipped. Plenty of hot water and powerful shower. Parking space is a bonus.

Clean and comfortable perfect view could want for nothing more this is our second time we will be returning

This apartment is reasonably priced and is comfortable enough with adequate facilities.

You can walk out at the front and straight onto West Bay beach or walk to the harbour in a couple of minutes so it's well located. Parking in a numbered bay at the rear is very convenient. The shower over the bath is powerful and the double bed is comfortable. There's only a small freezer compartment in the fridge. This is the second time that we've stayed here and we would stay again - the best recommendation.

This property has the potential to be great - but only if concerns raised in earlier reviews are acted upon.

Why are the curtains so, so difficult to pull? Why were we randomly given dishwasher tablets when there isn't one? Why isn't the glassware and cutlery checked for cleanliness? Why isn't the balcony floor scrubbed? We were overwhelmed by the strong bleach smell when we entered the property but took it as a sign that a deep clean had taken place. I was therefore revolted to take out a glass and find 1cm of black mould growing in the base. Stained, dirty teaspoons with coffee granules on them - which I left on the windowsill for the owners to see. When we stripped the beds at the end of our stay, I was absolutely horrified to discover long black hairs from previous occupants embedded in the mattress protectors. When I opened the 'wardrobe' in the hall, an ironing board and heater fell out on me! The cheap, small, nasty plastic hangars were awful. Please don't cut corners like this; it's a small thing but it gives an impression of meanness. And, why is 'stuff' just dumped in both wardrobes? Is that why they smell a bit weird? I felt unable to use the hangars or wardrobes. Other things which made a bad impression: only 1 roll of toilet paper? For a week? One small square of soap in the bathroom which soon disintegrated? Please just put a bottle of liquid soap in the bathroom and kitchen. Trad coffee maker. Hmm. Not really used these days. I accept that the owners may not want to go to the expense of a 'pod' machine but a cafetiere would have been a more useful piece of equipment. Pigeons- we didn't mind them visiting, and were prepared to wipe the table as and when necessary. However, the balcony floor does need a proper scrub after each booking. Bunting will not deter pigeons and the owners may like to consider installing a light grade mesh to enclose the whole balcony. When we left, a pigeon was incubating an egg so we really hope it's allowed to hatch. On the positive side: lots of towels, beach side view and parking, and very close to all the West Bay amenities. 'Seagulls' is the best restaurant in the area and should not be missed out; booking is probably necessary as it's quietly popular.

We have stayed here 4 times, disappointed this time at the state of the balcony .

It was unusable due to being covered in pigeons droppings over floor and furniture alot of which was mouldy. The planter which had a lovely geranium in last time we visited had an old mouldy birds nest and feathers. A pest controller was sent out and said it must have been like this for a long, long time because the young birds had flown. Pigeons were on the balcony continually we couldn't open the door for fresh air if we had wanted to, and the view and noise was awful. Such a shame as we had enjoyed the flat previously and dont understand how it could have been allowed to get like this.

The balcony was inhabited by 4 pigeons with months of bird poo everywhere.

Tried 3ctines to complain but phone never answered complained on site and received an automated message back saying will be in touch within 30 days. Reason fir booking was location and balcony. In the hottest week could not open the door forcfresh air terrible would not book again x

The flat is spacious and comfortable.

We were worried about accessing the shower over the bath but it was easy to get in and out and a non slip mat was provided. The beds were comfortable and the bed linen was top quality. The only thing was we did need to wash the crockery and cutlery before using it and we did a thorough clean of the coffee machine. The water is very hard but we had brought our Brita filter jug with us so we able to use filtered water for the kettle and the coffee machine. We enjoyed our stay.

Just needs a knife sharpener the old one appears broken.

Tried to find one in Bridport to no avail. Curtain rails need a clean and lubricating as do doors and hinges. These are only trivial things overall the stay was very pleasant.

Wonderful location with pleasant views across the carpark and beach to the sea.

Very handy to have free parking in West Bay. Everything clean and ready for check in, although need to ask the cleaner to do the floor right behind the bathroom door. We were given dishwasher tablets in our welcome pack, but couldn't find a dishwasher? Other residents were very friendly and the area is quiet & peaceful generally, apart from the local lads with their loud car exhausts doing the rounds at 9ish each night. The bright lights outside the front door didn't go out until after midnight, so the twin room really could do with blackout curtains - the current ones are not lined at all. Otherwise a very pleasant stay in a wonderful coastal town.

Ideal location within West Bay.

Great to have allocated car parking and a lift. The bed is very comfortable with soft bedding and plenty of pillows. I should like to draw the owner's attention to 2 items: Adjustments are required to improve access to the wardrobes in the twin bedroom because the door hits the end of the bed and cuts off access to the cupboards; Patio windows to double bedroom badly need to be cleaned. Otherwise, it has been a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you.

A comfortable flat in an excellent position in West Bay.

Good facilities. A fair price. Helpful staff when I had a query. The only suggestion I would have to improve the experience would be that the window in the main bedroom overlooking the balcony looks as if it has not been cleaned for a long time and the balcony itself needs a better clean.

Lovely property has what you need and a lovely location but could do with updating me and my partner caught our feet in the carpet grippers a few times where the carpet was wearing thin and the springs in the sofa had gone so not very comfortable and the 5pm check in time is very late you've lost a day of your holiday with that

Fantastic location great views good size apartment very clean and quiet.

Ideal location and parking, the apartment, bedding and towels were clean , but second bedroom cramped and difficult to use.

. We had to rearrange furniture in order to open wardrobe door.. Shower neede repairing as we counldn't adust height of spray which was set at lowest point. This was our 4th visit to this apartment but it really needs refreshing to book again.

Jacket in cupboard the culprit which was placed on balcony all week. In general we enjoyed the property, certainly location and size. Decor a bit tired but property clean and functional.Netflix and wifi a bonus for my teenage daughters.

We come every year in July/August to visit my sister on holiday and found this flat online.

It's a lovely flat with the jurassic view. Very basic and very spacious which was fine for us though when we turned up I've notices it was not up to cleaning standard. I'm cleaner myself with own company have good eyes! The kitchen was great but we has to wash all the dishes before we use it. The mugs had really bad coffee/tea stains. Could do with more baking trays as there was only one! The two bedrooms are not a bad size either. It may be handy to have the double bed into a twin as not all couples are together. We all really enjoyed stay in the flat and I'm sure we may be back.

Excellent location, easy access and very clean, well equipped and comfortable,.

Only difficulty is access to the very large wardrobe, very cramped but we managed, this was our third visit so we knew about it.

The apartment was spotless and fresh however the balcony was pretty grim,the furniture had seagull droppings old and new and the floor was really dirty.

I cleaned the table/chairs and mopped the floor to enable us to use the space. I'm not worried if you don't use the feedback as i wouldn't want to be too critical as the rest of the flat was fine.I guess the owners were unaware of situation.

Lovely spacious flat all excellent only downside is the shower which when put it in its fitting water goes everywhere.

You can use it by hand but that was hard going. When having to wash your hair.

Exterior paintwork on apartment needs attention.

Exterior carpet badly worn The common areas in general are "scruffy" & do not give a good first impression. This is a pity because the apartment itself is immaculate, warm on arrival & everything in working order. Some visitors may miss having a dishwasher. We ate out apart from breakfast so this did not concern us.

On the positive side the position was great, with a view out over to the beach and sea and handy for West Bay and Bridport.

The flat was spacious and the bed was comfortable.It was also good value for money.On the negative side the property details should definitely have said that the lift needs a key to operate it and that that you have to walk up to the second floor to get the door and lift keys,and then use the lift to bring up your luggage.The other fault was that the bed cover was only a thin duvet and a small blanket,which was quite inadequate. We asked for more blankets and were promised them but they did not appear.

We stayed here for the first time last year in December.

Although it was very cold outside we were very comfortable with the efficient storage heaters. We were very disappointed that we found the storage heaters have been disconnected. Had we stayed in December this year we would have had to go home early as it would not have been warm enough. I know electric prices have gone up but with the prices charged especially in the summer season and the heaters not required during this time, I would have thought this more than compensates for the price rise. We like to feel comfortable when we go away and this took the shine off the holiday that we work so hard for.

you need to highlight that on first arrival you need to use the stairs to get to the flat to get the key that operates the lift.

This could be a major issue for some guests. The south facing balcony is possibly the best afternoon suntrap in West Bay.

The location of the apartment is unbeatable, including a place to park the car.

The view is great, you just have to ignore the car park for the beach in front of the building which can get a bit noisy towards the evenings. The apartment itself is well equipped with regards to the kitchen and lounge but it would be a great benefit to add a chest of draws to the main bedroom for clothes. The second bedroom is ok, tricky to get to the wardrobe as the second bed hinders the door to be opened fully and makes it awkward to get to the wardrobe. A huge benefit is the small balcony that offers you a nice spot to watch the day and evening pass by should you be tired of the beach.

The flat had a smell The main bedroom was worst.

The balcony was unusable because it was cobered in bird poo Pigeons landed.about 6am cooing we had to use a stick to get tjem out to be able to sleep.No washer no dishwasher

My son had committed to working one day but was unable to Skype.

Not the end of world but with expectations of employers changing (even if you're on holiday), stronger/better connection would be an advantage. The location was superb for days out to other places and the West Bay beach was amazing.

30 pm and let ourselves in and the place had not been cleaned ,dirty bed linen on floor in bedroom ,dirty towels on floor . we phoned sykes and was told that the cleaner was on her rounds and would be here shortly.Anyway 5.00 oclock came and no cleaner ,we phoned again and was told that they would ring us back.At 5.10 we had a phone call saying the cleaner was on her way,5.25 the cleaner turned up and said that she was not told there was any one in this apartment this week and asked if we were a late booking we said no and that we had booked last year .She said she will get done what she could while here ,to which my wife said the balcony as not been cleaned for a couple of weeks and patio doors needed cleaning inside and out ,the cleaners reply was i do not do outside windows which is a surprise as it is a part of the bedroom.We got into the apartment at 6.30 and feel that what we paid for and got was not acceptable ,how long was the dirty washing on the floor in the apartment for,hygiene was definitely not on the list.we cleaned the apartment thoroughly on friday including patio doors . were was the covid-19 guide lines.

Plenty of hot water and good quality bed linen and towels. TV needs replacing though as we couldn't use it as sound quality was very distorted and didn't make it enjoyable or easy to listen to.

A lovely last minute booking in an apartment overlooking the sea.

Shame there was cabins distracting our view and building work going on, but didn’t spoil our enjoyment. The apartment was easy to find with the instructions provided and made for a comfortable stay. West Bay is a lovely place to stay with everything you need for a relaxing holiday by the sea. Would have liked to have stayed longer!

The flat had not been cleaned properly.

The bathmat was used,smelled damp and had a brown deposit on it. This was replaced on Monday. The teaspoons were badly stained.The Mugs were tea stained. The coasters were heavily ring marked and sticky . Glasses in the Bathroom were white with scale or toothpaste .Food debris between seats of sofa along with white marks and sticky patches. Dirty mop in coats cupboard which we could smell even when doors shut!! If this had been used to clean hard floors they would not have been very clean. The washing up bowl was stained. Kitchen cupboard doors grubby. Bathroom cupboard needed cleaning. I spoke with Sykes on Sunday. Couldn't get through on Saturday. Helpful and apologetic. Offered to have flat cleaned but we didn't want the disruption. We washed kitchen stuff before use. We were advised of works taking place on the beach at West Bay buy could never have imagined the dust, noise and disruption this entailed. We were often woken by stone deliveries with three or four large pieces of machinery then moving the stone. This at five am. So not a particularly relaxing holiday. We have stayed in Sykes properties before with no problems. We understand that cleaning is now done by a contractor.
