Warmwell Lodge

We were very disappointed on arrival that there was no welcome pack to include even a pint of milk.

We have stayed at several self catering cottages and always had a starter pack to at least get us through the first night. We appreciate the property is old but feel the inside looks tired and needs a deep clean as there is dust in all the rooms on ledges and skirting boards. Boasting about a full refurbishment in 2015, is not a proud boast and suggests that was the last time a thorough clean was carried out. Having no wardrobe to hang clothes was also somewhat surprising, 4 coat hooks are hardly adequate for a weeks worth of clothes for two people. The rugs in both the bedroom and lounge have seen better days as they are getting a little thread bare. In the bathroom, the shower has a very piercing spray to the hand held wand so bad that it could not be used. The garden furniture is filthy and needs a good clean, the patio also needs weeding and cleaning. There also needs to be clear instructions on what to do with any dog waste. I also don’t expect to come on holiday and have to put the bins out and bring them back in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Warmwell Lodge.

It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. It was in a lovely location with the church on the opposite side of the drive and the fields adjacent the lodge. We had to keep our dog on the lead when we were out walking on the estate but this was no problem as the garden was fully enclosed and she was quite happy exploring the garden or just lying out on the grass. The lodge was only an hours drive from home, but we felt that we were in a totally different part of the county and close to the coast as well. We would be more than happy to stay at Warmwell Lodge again.

Living room door didn’t close properly.

Difficult to keep the dog out of the room at night because of this. Kitchen door knob kept coming off. Other than that top notch.

It's very convenient for the coast especially if you get a heatwave like we did for our long weekend.

It had an amazing garden which was very peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is well situated for exploring Dorset. The beds were very comfortable, as were all the furnishings. We enjoyed our stay so much, we have booked again for later in the year.

We have just returned from a lovely week at Warmwell Lodge.

The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with a pretty enclosed garden which was very secure for our dog & overlooking fields containing sheep & on several evenings , a herd of deer.The owners are friendly & extremely helpful . Both Weymouth & Dorchester are within easy reach along with several walks in the beautiful Dorset countryside. Would definitely recommend Warmwell Lodge as an excellent base for exploring Dorset .

Warmwell Lodge was an ideal base from which to explore the area.

The cottage is very well equipped, lovely and clean, and full of character. The area has a lot to offer - stunning coast and interesting history. We had a super time.

The place was clean and we'll equipped. we had nice weather and the garden was a little sun trap also the garden was enclosed and we didn't have to worry about the dog. The two horses in the next field was always glad to see us. Thanks to the owners.

This is a lovely period property with single glazed leaded windows, but thick blanket curtains.

The log burner and central heating kept it warm enough throughout and warm in the main room. Having a toilet by the back door and bathroom by the front door provided luxury!

Facilities were great - the entire place was lovely and warm, and the log burner was a much enjoyed bonus. The cottage had everything our family and four legged friend needed for a wonderful stay. Location is ideal for great countryside wanders and stunning coastal walks.

Warmwell Lodge is a beautiful cottage which is really cosy and extremely well equipped.

We loved all the little touches - dog bed and dog towels included! It was the perfect location for visiting all our favourite parts of Dorset.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Warmwell Lodge.

The accommodation was very comfortable and in such a peaceful setting. The location was great for visits to Lulworth Castle, Athelhampton House and Wolfeton House. There are plenty of lovely walks in the area; the coast path to Durdle Door being particularly spectacular. A circular route incorporating Hardy's Cottage was a good choice too. Thank you too for the bunch of delicious homegrown grapes!

Lovely cottage tucked away- once I got used to our new friends (the spiders) it was an amazing holiday.

We went with our young children who loved there cute room, the garden and seeing the horses every morning. We had a car so everything was only a short drive away. We can’t wait to go back again, maybe a winter break so we can make use of the gorgeous fire.

Warmwell Lodge was superbly equipped, with a warm welcome message and flowers from the hosts, All facilities good quality with extremely comfortable beds.

Lovely characterful property, superbly located for exploring the Jurassic Coast, with wonderful countryside and views from almost every window! Thoroughly recommended.

The garden must be at its best at this time of year. The sun shone for us for the whole week.

What can I say?

What a perfect cottage for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lodge was clean, well appointed, warm and comfortable. The best compliment is to say that we booked to go back next year. The walks locally were fantastic for us and the dogs. The lodge is well situated for days out as well. We can't wait to go back.

a pretty Lodge ,nice garden with lovely views over fields with sheep and cows horse riders .

good off road parking . lovely walks . comfortable beds , lots of cleaning products supplied also welcome pack of tea and a pretty bunch of flowers . awful armchairs different to the ones in the add , backs tilted back so one can not sit up straight sofa just as uncomfortable , crippling to sit down , 2 of us ended up sitting on the floor and my husband sitting on a dinning chair ,it's not ideal for this was the reason we decided to cut short our stay and leave early . strong smell of damp , a dehumidifier has been left but does not help much , windows downstairs do not open window up stairs does not lock ,moldy walls around window . at night scurrying and pattering of something ,may be mice could be heard in the band bedrooms . it is a listed building and I am aware allowances must be made for it's age .

From start to finish it could not have gone more smoothly.

A characterful cottage in a picturesque setting with all the facilities we needed.

A beautiful arrangements of fresh flowers from the garden welcomed us. It was great to be able to use the log burner on colder evenings. For us the best thing was the safe and enclosed garden which meant we could let our dog out without worrying. Also beautiful walks straight from the front door. We felt reassured by the procedures in place to guard against the spread of Covid-19.

A warm friendly welcome at the start of our holiday.

A good informative folder provided with plenty of walks, tea shops and pubs to visit. All information was dog friendly which helped with our planning of trips out. The lovely enclosed garden meant our dog had a safe holiday too. Walks round the estate added to enjoyment of our stay. Would highly recommend as a central base for exploring Dorset coastal areas.

We absolutely loved our stay at Warmwell Lodge.

A stunning little cottage surrounded by horses and a beautiful church opposite. It was exactly what we had hoped for and more, super comfy bedrooms, cosy sitting room, gorgeous garden that was completely enclosed so safe for our french bulldog to scamper about in and play football with our daughter. Lovely personal touches with a welcome note, tea and biscuits. We will definitely be back, thank you!

What an amazing lodge house!

We had a lovely stay with our four year old; having horses right outside and pheasants wandering the garden was amazing. The lodge itself is lovely and far roomier than we were expecting; a bathroom with a toilet and a separate downstairs toilet which makes life easier! Also didn’t realise there was a tumble dryer as well as a washing machine and hairdryers too! The welcome tray of Dorset tea and biscuits was very welcome and the information pack containing maps of walks around the estate was incredibly useful. Such a special holiday!

Beautiful cottage cleverly updated to a very high standard, with everything you would want for a relaxing holiday. Cottage is well situated for exploring Dorset. The garden is pretty for sitting out in the morning, the sitting room with wood burner was cosy in the evenings. We spent a week at the beginning of October in this lovely comfortable cottage in Warmwell. The owners made us feel most welcome and made sure we had everything for our stay. The cottage is beautiful and tastefully furnished throughout with comfy beds and lovely duvets to snuggle into. It is well equipped and all sparkling clean. There are excellent places to eat within a few miles, a host of National Trust properties to visit and of course miles of coastline to explore. A most delightful stay! Stayed September 2015

Warmwell Lodge is a beautiful cottage finished to a very high standard, we found the little instruction notes scatterred around quite amusing, but actually very helpful! One very minor point was the lack of cooking equipment, as people who enjoy to cook whilst on holiday, it was a struggle with the equipment supplied, although the housekeeper did bring us a stockpot when we mentioned the fact. It will not put us off returning though as we would just bring our own in future. (We normally bring knives & a multi-purpose pot anyway, but didn't this time as it was only a mini-break). Made to feel most welcome by the owners and the treats of local tea & honey were a lovely touch. Warmwell Lodge is a beautiful little property renovated to a really high standard. It's cosy and comfortable with all amenities thought off. Great location for exploring the Dorset coast and countryside, you feel rural but not cut off. Lots of great pubs to try all only a short drive away and Dorchester was an easy 15 min drive. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend. Stayed April 2016

Really easy to book and great communication throughout. The property is beautiful and was a perfect central location for our Southwest coastpath walking. Great to be able to bring along the dog too!
