  • “Great location, only a few hundred yards from the Old Harbour South.”

The property has character and is spacious and comfortable downstairs with a good sized dining table, settees and a decent kitchen. The downstairs tv is difficult to turn on but we found that if you persevere it works ok. Nice shower upstairs next to a good sized bedroom. The property has character and is spacious and comfortable downstairs with a good sized dining table, settees and a decent kitchen. The downstairs tv is difficult to turn on but we found that if you persevere it works ok. Nice shower upstairs next to a good sized bedroom. A few areas need attention - the upstairs toilet seat is wobbly and needs fixing, some serious dusting is needed above eye level in the bedroom which you notice when you lie on the bed and look upwards, the lampshades and the skirting around the ceiling were thick with dust, and lastly the upstairs tv... when you switch it off it comes back on again on its own so you have to turn it off at the mains every time. The outside table does not look terribly appetising and it would be good to have a table cloth to cover it before eating off it. The parking space is right next to the back door, off road and secluded. All in all we enjoyed our stay but a bit more care and attention would improve the appeal of The Old Post Office.

The property

The Old Post Office is a clever conversion of an original building now presented as a Dorset cottage.

Arranged over two floors, the ground floor living area has an open plan spacious feel with a feature spiral staircase leading to the bedroom and bathroom.

The Old Post Office benefits from parking for two cars and little outside patio area for you to enjoy an al fresco breakfast.

Located in an ideal position for a self-catering Dorset holiday, it is just five minutes' walk to Hope Square, which is bordered with a variety of restaurants, bistros, pubs and coffee shops; to reach the pretty old harbour just stroll for another minute or so.

Following on from the old harbour you will be in the town centre in a few more minutes and the main beach is adjacent.

Strolling from the property you may also explore Newtons Cove, a pretty pebble beach area and The Nothe Gardens great for a picnic on a sunny day.

The Old Post Office is the perfect holiday property in Dorset for a couple; a cosy property perfect for two in a location where you may walk to all the local attractions.
