The Chocolate Box

The first thing we noticed about the property was how clean it was.

It even smelled clean! It is well equipped and comfortable, with everything you need for your stay and more. The enclosed garden area is brilliant our dog loved it, and we had peace of mind knowing he was secure. Altogether we had a great holiday.

We had a lovely stay at The Chocolate box, great location to walk to town or along coastal path, car parking great asset, lovely quiet road we live in a rural area so notice any noise there was none.

My son and his family came with us, very comfortable house and plenty of room for 5 of us plus dog. My 8 Yr old grandson loved having the room on the 2nd floor, and we felt safe knowing all the windows had catches to stop a child opening fully. The outdoors area in the back is lovely to sit and chill, we loved the lighting and the ambience for after dark and a seating area for when we had one rain shower, we had lovely relaxing evenings sat out there or I enjoyed the peace with my early morning coffee. Furnished to a high standard, clean and with everything you need, we all said it was one of the best houses we've stayed in, (and I've been going to holiday lets for over 30 years), very comfy beds, bathrooms are great. To the previous reviews where people complained about the outdoor area get over yourself, theres plants/hedges next door, bits drop/blow over as with any garden, theres a broom to sweep up with as I did on occasion, theres also a cobweb brush as you do get cobwebs on outdoor areas, its a really lovely place to relax . Will rebook without a doubt when I next come back to weymouth, we had a lovely stay thank you

Lovely stay again at the Chocolate Box.

Lovely comfortable, light and airy house on a very quiet street. Away from the hustle and bustle of the centre but close enough to walk to the harbour. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. This was our third stay and we will definitely be back.

We just had the best family holiday in The Chocolate Box!

The cleanliness was second to none and the house finished to a high standard with everything you could need and more. The beds where so comfy all the facilities where spotless. The outside area was awesome and had an outside tap which was great for washing down our dog and wetsuits after swimming. The parking fit two cars which was a bonus and the house is situated just a few minutes walk from the loveliest little cove that was dog friendly and the safest beach great for us to paddle board, swim and snorkel (we saw some amazing coral reefs). It also had an ice cream shop and a lovely coastal walk that took you to Weymouth harbour and beach. It was so close to a dog walking park with lovely views of the sea and lots of wildlife, we enjoyed watching the owls and bats in the evenings. It was also very near to the harbour that was fantastic for crab fishing and had so many places to eat from big chain places to bakery’s and sweat shops. The house is also within close driving distance to so many beautiful places. We loved our stay in The Chocolate Box so much that we are already booking for next year as it ticked everything we needed to suit our family but above all else we felt at home as it was not only gorgeously decored it was spacious, dog friendly and spotless. We loved our welcome pack which included everything you need to settle in (dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, milk and tea bags and a lovely pack of locally made biscuits) so was lovely to have a nice cuppa as soon as you arrive. Thank you Chocolate Box for the best holiday we have had in the uk and we can’t wait to come back and make more lovely memories!!

We loved our stay at chocolate box just a few niggles of cleanliness for housekeepers to think about whilst we were there front door was difficult to open from outside and inside.

ensuite shower mat very dirty needs replacing toilet stick dirty and yellow floor mat stained other large room looked like makeup on pillow case and the freezer was and still is frozen up .however everywhere else was lovely inside on going out to back veranda great to have but cobwebs everywhere needed cleaning and leaves swept against door and shed.the decor and furnishings and wooden floor and the beds was very comfortable being in the heatwave we would have liked 2 fans one for each bedroom for my aged parents and our small room.we really enjoyed the home but felt we didn't have the 5 stars I was searching for when cleanliness issues. good it's got dreams offices in harbour we visited a few times.they were great and listened and sorted a few issues out.if you are charging 1400 or more I think a welcome gift of tea coffee milk would be nice or chocolates as its called the chocolate box ( don't know why).many thanks tina beard

Over all very nice, there was a problem with the freezer and when I tried to inform support they were impossible to get hold off, WhatsApp didn't recognise my booking number that I copied and pasted from the app.

The amount of cobwebs outside was insane, weeks of not months worth. Great shame as it was really nice once we brushed most of them away. The place itself was lovely and the inside was really well cleaned.

The property was very nice.

A perfect place situated in a convenient spot from which to walk into Weymouth or short drive to Portland. Bedding and towels were beautifully clean and of high quality. The out door garden area was beautiful much appreciated as we stayed during the heatwave! The kitchen was well equipped with everything that we required to prepare meals .The lounge was very relaxing a real home from home. Unfortunately I need to mention a couple of problems.. Front door.:- I found it really hard to open the door from the inside to get out! Maybe the mechanism is new and particularly difficult? while unpacking I found a large handful of brown dried soil Inside the bottom of the wardrobe in the main bedroom it was easy to clean up but a little off putting . We loved staying here and will book again staying at this beautiful house in our favourite holiday spot in Weymouth.

The accommodation was excellent, the only thing that let it down was when I took the duvet cover off in the en-suite room I discovered that the duvet was dirty.

Not what I would expect because the rest of the house was excellent.

We’d highly recommend the Chocolate Box to family’s. Comfortable, clean, cosy and well equipped. Ideally situated for walks into the harbour side, town center and coastal Path.

.. so knew what to expect. It lived up to expectations and had a great stay again. A lovely home located within an easy walk to the harbour/town.

Very clean accommodation and decorated to a high standard, with in easy reach of the harbour and shops .

the off street parking is a bonus .it would have been 10/10 but for a faint smell of cat or dog wee in the garden but was easily cleaned by washing it down with disinfectant.we took a dog but cleaned after each episode.

This is our third stay in at the Chocolate Box and we have already booked our fourth.

Fantastic location and very comfortable whatever the season. A few niggles prevented a five star review. We arrived after a long journey and there was no toilet paper in the downstairs cloakroom. I was looking forward to my first nights sleep as the bed is very comfortable however this time we had to remake it as it looked like it had been done in such a rush the base sheet was not tucked in. We were unable to find the guest book for local information. An ongoing issue is the lack of recycling facilities. I am aware the owner has previously commented that it is not possible to provide them but looking at similar properties in the area for a small charge this could easily be resolved. We had a lovely holiday and are looking forward to returning soon.

The Chocolate Box is well situated for a short stroll into Weymouth on a quiet residential street.

We found the cottage to be well equipped and comfortable. Unfortunately we found that the pillows were rather stale and smelt sweaty, possibly due to a lot of use over the long hot summer. Additionally the mattress protector was stained which we didn't discover until stripping the bed at the end of our hoilday. We appreciate there is a short interval for cleaning between changeovers but this should be addressed for the comfort of future guests. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay at the Chocolate Box and would recommend it due to its location.

Fantastic property which had everything we needed.

It was well placed just a short walk from the Northe Fort and the Harbour. The house was spotlessly clean and well presented. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

Just back from a fabulous 2 week stay at this property.

Wow !! Such a gorgeous house, the whole house was decorated beautifully, the cleanliness of everything was amazing. We spent most of our mornings and evenings in the private fully enclosed courtyard, huge table and chairs for six and also 2 lovely chairs and a small table that were under cover. Every thing you needed was there. It’s only a short walk to get to the old harbour - turn right out the the property cross the road and just a very short distance you will find an alley on your left, go right down till you come to the end of a road, turn right and keep going, it brings you out just at the back of hope square, took me and my daughter maybe 6 or 7 minutes. You are only a short car ride to a fairly large Asda. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would love to stay at this property again, I would definitely 100 percent recommend this to others.

This was our first visit to the Chocolate Box.

We would definitely consider staying there again. The property facilities matched, or exceeded, that of any holiday property we have previously stayed. The location is excellent. It’s in a very quiet tree lined road, 5 minutes from a cliff top park that is connected to the SW coastal path. 10 - 15 minutes walk from Weymouth town and harbour side. The property is also dog friendly, which is an essential bonus for us.

It was my 3rd stay at this amazing clean , comfortable, home from home , house, I love everything about the chocolate box , it’s wonderful location , the parking, feel so safe , such a lovely rd , my little dog loves it to I can recommend this house to any age family or just a couple it’s amazing , so clean absolutely emaculate , I just don’t want to stay anywhere else , can’t wait to book again

Immaculate property that was perfect for the five of us and two dogs.

Located just ten minute walk from Weymouth town it was perfect for our long weekend stay. Plenty of living space downstairs with a comfortable living room and lovely enclosed outdoor area. Really comfortable beds with a lovely second floor with sea views. One of the cleanest and well presented properties we have stayed in.

This is our second stay in this property and really pleased to say the minor niggles we experienced the first time have now been resolved.

Fantastic location and one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed in. We have already booked for a third visit later in the year. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of recycling facilities.

Only problem the outside lights didn't work. They would trip the breaker for the boiler. Have booked for next year already.

Really lovely property.

Close to Weymouth. Stunning decor and very comfortable furnishings and bedding. Really need more hooks on back of doors, dishes for cereals etc as ones available are too shallow. Bedrooms desperately need mirror or dressing table, nowhere to sit and no suitable mirrors except for dressing where there's one in hallway. But as other comment mentioned, spoilt out stay as dark early and outdoor back lights trip every time try and use them and plunged into darkness indoors and TV etc goes off. This made holiday this time of year difficult with the dogs as pitch black outside and picked this house purely for location and secure garden which we couldn't use after 4.30pm. Few fixes and would be 5 star

The Chocolate Box is beautiful.

Modern with a luxury outdoor seating area. There is parking for two cars. The walk in shower is excellent and the bedrooms spacious. The third floor twin room is stunning. The property is highly maintained and very clean. We loved the USB socket. Whitby is a short walk away using the footpath to the right of the property. Easy slow 10 min walk away and there is an Asda two mins away. Central property in an ideal location.

We come to Weymouth every year and this is by far the best property we've stayed at. The layout has been well thought out. Perfect location. Just a 10 min walk to harbour, pubs and shops. Loved it so much we've already booked next years holiday here

We have stayed at many cottages and this is one of the best.

Very clean on arrival. Great location for walking into Weymouth and quiet residential area. Garden secure for dogs . Our only small grumble was the lack of cleaning materials. Upon arrival there was just washing up liquid and anti bacterial spray, the lack of any cloths or tea towels made the first evening a challenge. We will however return and have booked our next stay already.

This was our first stay at The Chocolate Box and it won't be our last.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our first family holiday with our 9 month old granddaughter.The property was exceptionally clean and the most comfortable holiday property that we have ever stayed in. The modern decor, furniture and fittings were all high quality and made it feel like home from home. The bedsheets and towels were lovely, clean, crisp and white. Ensuite, family bathroom and downstairs toilet had been thoroughly cleaned. The outside space was very secure and very pretty at night with the outdoor lighting. Location was fabulous, great for walking to the Quay via alley down the street(turn right out of house), you then have access to the sea, old harbour and Weymouth Beach, turn right and up the walkway, leads you to the coastal path and Northe Fort gardens. The house is set in a quiet residential street and sea views from the third floor. We would love to come back here again, it was super and all of us had a great holiday.

Beautiful house in a very quiet location, ideal for us as a family of 6 with a dog (who loved the outdoor space) only slight issue we had was the outside bin only being emptied once a fortnight as it was full when we arrived

This was probably the most clean and comfortable holiday property that we have ever stayed in. The decor, furniture and fittings were all spot on, lovely quality and real home from home. The bedsheets and towels were lovely, clean, crisp and white. The outside space was very secure and very pretty at night with the outdoor lighting. Location was superb, great for walking the dog, access to the sea, old harbour and Weymouth Beach (but in a really quiet residential place). If I was being highly critical I might suggest a few more Pyrex dishes and perhaps a few more pans for cooking with as I did struggle cooking for a family of five. But apart from that we would love to come back here again, it was super

Garden Was so lovely. We sat outside at night with the lights Lovely place to sit and chat and eat a meal together. Great place for a dog so secure The house had everything you needed. The beds were so comfortable and it was very clean. We will definitely recommend this house to anybody. And you never know we will be back one day. I would actually say it's more than 5 stars.

Lovely stay at The Chocolate box, everything about this house is top class.

....lovely quiet location but just 10 minutes walk to the Quay and a lovely walk around the nothe gardens and sea front. Fixtures and fittings, settees, beds, garden furniture, wardrobes etc etc are all top notch. Nicely furnished and everything thought of. This was our 2nd stay and the addition of the en-suite was a lovely surprise.

Lovely house.

Beautifully clean and warm. We particularly noticed the cleanliness as we are not dog owners and are quick to notice dog hair! Beds comfy, showers worked well and kitchen well equipped. There were certainly enough cooking pans etc to have a Christmas meal! If there is to be any negative comment it would be that the oven was unusually small - so it was just as well we had a turkey crown! We were pleasantly surprised that a small Christmas tree and other Christmas decorations were set up. It was in fact the best house we have rented for years.

Very nice house, comfortable, in a quiet location, yet within walking distance of the town centre and sea front.

My only small criticism is that there is a lack of cooking equipment sufficient for a group of five adults and a child. There are few cooking pots, and those provided are small in size. Perhaps the owner could purchase some more larger cooking pots. This minor point aside, the house was excellent, and I would like to return for another holiday.

We had a lovely break at The Chocolate Box, the house was very comfortable and we were lucky enough to be able sit outside under the lights on an evening in October!

We parked up our cars outside the house on Monday afternoon and didn't use them until leaving on Friday, everything is easily accessible by foot. Great pubs, cafes, restaurants & beaches just a short walk

Very nice property would love to stop again

We had a lovely stay at the chocolate cottage.

Nice quiet street. Could have done with a dryer. Has we had to wash towels. If the weather was hot. Obviously wouldn’t need a dryer. But the weather wasn’t the best to dry the towels. When we got there some of the glasses needed washing. Also a dish had all porridge left in the bowl. I know that was obviously the previous guests that put it away with our washing it. I phoned about the washer door wouldn’t open. Some one came out quick. I would stay there again. Just hope the weather will be better. We have been coming to Weymouth for 7 years the chocolate box is the best house we have stayed in.

Lovely house in a great location, quiet residential street, but only 10 minutes from the quay.

Well furnished and equipped and appliances were top notch. All in all a lovely property, in an excellent location, I'm sure we'll be back.

We enjoyed our stay very much, we would certainly recommend to others and would not hesitate to return (and hope to).

Just a couple of recommendations: a second lamp in the lounge to allow reading and to create a more cozy feel, plus to avoid using the main light, also some proper cereal bowls (rather than the picnic ones we had to use).

The property is excellent, very comfortable, and a great location as it's a 5 minute walk from the house to the harbour and Town Centre, Ideal for dog owners as the back garden is fully enclosed.

The only problem we found was the garden electrics would always trip the power and in doing so would trip the upstairs lighting, one of the switches to the left of the rear double doors is not operating correctly which may be causing the problem.

We had beautiful stay i feel a bbq and patio heater would really be a huge benefit to enjoying the well kept coirt yard

Beautiful property everything you need.

I recommend adding to the description that there is a washing machine as this may put people with young families off. I know I was nervous with a 4 month old thinking how am I going to wash her muslin cloths etc. Also the garden is beautiful feels part of the house another room, however, it would benefit from the cleaners giving it a sweep, wipe over and brushing the cob webs away. Also a foot stall in the living room to make it more comfortable to relax.

Only Perhaps more cusions on the chairs in the garden.

Property is well presented and fully equipped for your every need.

Patio area was really nice and with the outdoor lighting made the evenings a really relaxing time. Really close to the harbour/town and I suggest if your walking you turn right out of the property and then left down the alley and then turn right at the bottom and follow round, this takes about 7 mins…Overall I would stay here again as the experience was great and value for money…

This property is ideal for a family stay.

I can honestly say that the standard of everything was A1. There was all you could possibly need and of a quality to be proud of. Cleanliness and decor superb. A quality home from home and well appointed. Would recommend to anyone

The Chocolate box is a fantastic house, everything has been thought out well.

We thoroughly enjoyed are stay, in fact, we didn’t want to leave! If i were to say anything negative, and this is really searching for something, the bed frames on the top floor, do stick out a bit. so if your walking back to bed in the dark, you may walk into it once or three times!

Very good place to spend holiday with family.

House is located in a quite street and not far away from town centre. Beautiful interior decorations, good space back garden for summertime stay and entertainment.
