“Cockleshell Lodge was a nice place, tucked to the side of a larger property on a residential street, about 5-10 minute walk from the Old Pier Bandstand building on the seafront.”
We were a party of two friends and a Yorkshire Terrier. Beds were extremely comfortable, with very cosy linens, and the kitchen was well-equipped with most everything you could need for cooking any meals, and with a large fridge-freezer. We found it to be a very quiet location - my friend especially is very aware of any noise at night, and she had a lovely undisturbed sleep every night in the back bedroom, as it was so quiet. The parking was ideal - we didn't use the car once we arrived! - and out of the way of the residents of the main building. For preference we would have liked a really large frying pan for doing cooked breakfasts, and also a few more available channels on the TV/SKY. Wi-fi was excellent. The owner responded very promptly when we had a question on arrival, which was appreciated. Two small things to be aware of, 1) the rug in the living room moves/shifts very easily on the wooden floor, and 2) the shower drains quite slowly (flushing the toilet seems to resolve this). I understand the property won't accept dogs in future, which will prevent me from visiting again, but that is the only reason I wouldn't as it was cute, cosy, quiet, and well-equipped.
