Harbour View Bungalow

We had a lovely stay in the spacious bungalow.

I enjoyed having tea on the viranda in the morning and was very lucky with the weather. I think if we stayed again we would bring fans for the bedrooms to keep cool in the evenings.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harbour View and cannot give enough praise to Roger and his team who made our stay so welcoming.

Mrs Sullivan and Mrs White both enjoyed to park and walks emmensly. We had intended leaving very encouraging remarks in the Visitor's book but forgot. Can you please give our thanks to Roger etc

bungalow was excellent - had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

It was a lovely place to stay, great space inside and a wonderful garden to enjoy too and we really liked the property. This bungalow was an excellent relaxed place to stay on holiday. The only problem we had was with Dreams themselves in the run up to the holiday , it was impossible to get hold of them to ask a simple question. It was very frustrating, upsetting and confusing how exactly they operate as a business and yet they refuse to take calls.

Parts of the property had not been thoroughly cleaned as the waste bin in the shared bathroom had not been emptied and the fridge hadn't been wiped clean (we found a bar of chocolate behind one of the salad drawers!

) Also the feather duvet on the master bed was far too heavy and hot and the pillows need replacing. The remote control in the master bedroom needs new batteries and a few lightbulbs were out : in the master bedroom and the mirror and ceiling in the ensuite. The light outside the master bedroom on the veranda is far too sensitive and came on all night, every night, completely illuminating the bedroom! The bungalow was well appointed and is an amazing location.

The location of Harbour View Bungalow is perfect, a few minutes walk to the main harbour and beach, unfortunately that's where the positives end.

I can understand that this is a much loved family home but as a holiday home charging a lot of money at this time of year for a week it falls way short of what is expected. The bungalow could do with a bit of an overhaul The kitchen is very dark due to a large fridge/freezer and bookcase blocking a window. The sofas need replacing as a priority (I note that on previous feedback that this has been mentioned quite a few times but they have still not been replaced), they are painful to sit in. Carpets need replacing, bed linen need replacing (mattress protectors are torn) and most mattresses are lumpy and uncomfortable. Whilst the outside grass area was acceptable for children, the back gate was off the hinges (we had to try to secure this for safety - again a previous comment mentioned this but it had still not be fixed), the bungalow is surrounded by vast amounts of detritus, along with not being able to open windows or doors due to rats which made the outside space more or less unusable.

Firstly, I would like to say the location on the bungalow is outstanding.

Just a few minutes walk from the harbour yet you are away from the noise and general hustle and bustle of a busy tourist town. Exactly what we (three generations) were looking for. Sadly the photos did not match up to what we lived in for a week. It needs a deep clean. I expect there to be some level of ingrained dirt as it is being used by the owners as well as paying customers, however there is no getting around it, we felt it was grubby and had not been properly cleaned before we arrived. There is now a huge fridge/freezer and bookcase in the kitchen which blocks a window so it is now really rather dark - not the light and airy kitchen portrayed. One of the mattresses (on a single bed) was well past it's best (lumpy and uncomfortable) as were all the bedsheets. As a previous reviewer said, the sofas could also do with replacing. Outside is a nice sized garden which our children loved. However again, there were issues, such as the garden gate was broken and had been taken off so the garden is not secure for young kids. There is also currently a lot of 'bits' piled up here and there on the grounds which again is not nice to be surrounded by. None of these things on their own would be a deal breaker, but collectively it made for a frustrating and not so comfortable stay given the price paid for our one week's holiday of the year. If maintenance was carried out on this property and it was kept to a higher standard of cleanliness than I can absolutely imagine it must be a perfect place to say.

Lovely place to stay.

Clean and well equipped. Can't fault it. Very quiet and peaceful and only a short walk to the town and beach.

Very peaceful location but easy walk to all the buzz of Weymouth with its great beach, harbour, restaurants and bars.

Convenient also to explore Portland, Chesil Beach and that corner of Dorset. Spacious well equipped property. Will come again.

This cottage is in a fantastic location.

It is very spacious and suited us well as a family of six (three generations). Because it is lived in by the owner, when it is not being rented out in the summer, it does feel a little over equipped for a holiday home. We found the sofas in the lounge to be well loved, well used and not overly comfortable but not a deal breaker. The owner was very friendly and very chatty. A perfect place to relax on the veranda and watch the water, the squirrels and the wildlife through the trees.

One of the nicest holiday accommodations we've experienced over many years.

Super bungalow - perfect for children, parents and grandparents. Excellent kitchen diner with all equipment. Especially impressed with the number of power points. Large, comfortable lounge. Three good sized bedrooms, especially the master room. Lovely verandah / garden area and lots of things for the children to play with. A week was too short.

Excellent property in fantastic location and great for families, short walk to town, harbour and beach.

Only comment would be to provide instructions on how to use the various parts of the gas range for those not used to gas.

The bangalow was very comfortable, very good location away from the hustle and bustle of the town and at the same time not far from pubs and shopping.

The landlord is very nice as well.

Great location, well equipped, very spacious.

One of the best holiday homes we’ve been two for comfort and all the facilities You would ever need also super views and very peaceful we will be booking again very soon

Harbour View Bungalow provided our family with everything we needed for a great holiday apart from the weather!

It is very spacious and well situated for access to our favourite areas of Weymouth and we would definitely like to return

Absolutely great place !

All the family from 84 to 28 months really loved staying at Harbour View. The weather unfortunately was not so good ☹️ So we were glad we had a really great base . Plenty to do in the area , would definitely like to return for another holiday.

We all had a fabulous holiday, bungalow was very airy, spacious and homely, beds were really comfortable. Grandchildren loved walks on the footpaths around Nothe gardens feeding squirrels monkey nuts and bird watching as well as trips to the beach/amusements as well as spending time in the garden playing. We have booked for next year before leaving as we enjoyed so much. Thank you to Roger and Sue for the welcome cake they left for our arrival.

Incredible cottage with great facilities. Close to many attractions and the harbour - couldn't have asked for a better place. The wildlife all around was amazing including the baby owl who came to visit most evenings. Stayed July 2015

I came away with my Husband, my Mother, Daughter and Granddaughter, we all had a lovely stay at Harbour View Bungalow. It was like home from home a beautiful place to stay and view lovely, The Owners are very nice people and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend it to our friend it was excellent.
