Ashwood

Overall the accommodation was very good, very spacious and the outside seating area was a bonus.

Plenty of cooking utensils and crockery - we like to cook rather than go out. Private parking is a god-send in Weymouth. Access to the property was easy and using codes and key safe saves a lot of fuss. We felt that whilst the property was very good it lacked some internal and external tlc. e.g. blown double glazed window panes, paint on the stair handrails very worn, external paving could use a jet wash, the back gate is only just hanging on, the shrubs in the garden are massively overgrown and encroaching on the seating area. Having mentioned all this we really enjoyed our time at the property.

Had a really good holiday and pleased we stayed at Ashwood.

Thank you. Would we stay there again - YES! Couple of ideas to enhance the experience for your consideration:- + For the well equipped kitchen how about including a pizza baking tray for the oven? + How about a handrail for the steps to access the car parking area?

Beautiful property, could not fault it, everything you need there and more.

Our only problem (which was not with the property) was with it being so hot we had to keep the windows open and the noise from the building across from the house (Cefas) was a stark early wake up call every morning which was annoying. Again I must say the house is amazing, loved the pictures by the Lady who owns the house, thank you

Our second tome at Ashwood beautiful home and great location.

Inside beautiful but outside needs wee tidy especially by from door. We had a problem in bathroom and dream Cottages maintenance came promptly and fixed it . Sadly as getting less mobile we wont be back but can recommend Ashwood fir a a lovely holiday with fab art work all around you

"Ashwood" was spotlessly clean, lots of space and the kitchen absolutely stunning with the very best 'appliances' I have ever seen in the dozen or so Dreams 'cottages' we have stayed in over the years - top of the range quality and everything just worked perfectly!

I can only apologise if the top floor bathroom was still a bit damp on the final morning, but the shower was an irresistable deluge!!!! The hardest decision we had during our stay was whether to use the sofa in the kitchen, or the sofa in the sitting room in the evening because the view of Weymouths' wonderful evening sunset and fabulous sky were just too hard to resist! Watching the sun go down on the Nothe made the perfect end to every day. We walked everywhere as usual, liberating the car just twice to get to Sandsfoot for the obligatory paddle. We will be back!

Poor cleanliness: Oven inside dirty, trays filthy and door inside and hinge area greasy.

Reported to Dream cottages, who basically gave it a wipe over. It needs a professional clean. Lots of dust, fluff and litter under beds. Beds not very comfortable, Raised complaint to Sykes who have not posted my original review or responded to my complaint for 3 weeks.

We have just stayed for a week, two children and four adults.

The house is in a brilliant location, close to pubs, restaurants, shops and the beach. Property is good, clean and adequate facilities with a very nice patio area where you can sit in the sun. All in all it was a very pleasant holiday.

Parts of the property, kitchen, shower room, upstairs lounge and large twin bedroom are lovely, the other two bedrooms back onto a very noisy road ,obviously not the owners fault but a window in the double room wouldn't shut so does need sorting out , probably wouldn't return to this property mainly due to the noise

Unfortunately we are all adults, with excellent, we look for quality and cleanliness when visiting your holiday homes, sadly Ashwood let us down, we also seemed to have a severe reaction to something in house as of there had been animals in the home, we all have allergies hence choosing a property advertised as no dog's.

The bedding was stained, pillows tired, windows dirty with pains that need replacing, the outside was needed painting and the paracel outside area was in need of a good clean! Overall cleanliness disappointing, it's time to spend money on it to get back on track, the location is great.

Very well maintained and equipped. Great location. We have stayed there on numerous occasions and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ashwood House as a great family holiday location.

Wonderful house right in the heart of Weymouth.

The harbour is on the doorstep and there is a small beach / cove to the rear if you like swimming. The main beach and town is only a short walk away. The house has everything you need for a seaside stay, and is spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children.

The only issue was that I didn't receive the email with the actual address and gate code for the property, but a short phone call resolved that.

The accommodation and location are excellent. Absolutely first class service by the team at Dream Cottages in Hope Square. Our thanks to them.

A very well equipped and comfortable cottage lovingly decorated with lots of sea themed art work to make the property homely.

One of the good points was being close to the harbour, Weymouth shops etc., and some good walks direct from the property which meant we did not have to use our cars every day. Even in Late October we were able to enjoy sunshine on the outdoor patio area a lovely space at the rear of the property. The only downside was the front bedrooms faced the CEFAS business over the road with deliveries that resulted in some early morning noise - just meant in an early start to the day!

We had a wonderful stay at Ashwood.

The property is centrally located and the parking is such a bonus. The house is on 3 floor so quite a bit of stairs, but it meant that each floor felt like it’s own unit, giving the 5 of us more privacy. Very well equipped kitchen and big dining area where we spent most of our time. When we took out the trash, we weren’t entirely sure where the designated bins were until a resident directed us, so this is the only minor thing that could be clarified. Thank you so much Ashwood and Dream Cottages, you made our visit to Weymouth that more special.

Very good property, well appointed and equipped.

Comfortable beds and the whole property was nice and clean.

We have stayed at Ashwood in June for 3 years now and it has never failed to delight us.

The property is of a very high standard with excellent facilities and is in an excellent location. Do not be tempted to feed the very elegant seagull which is a regular visitor to the patio!

Fantastic house, lots of room, and really well furnished.

Everything we needed was there, including a lot we didn't expect, like handsoap, washing up liquid and other useful bits! Location is fab, near enough to town for an easy walk, but far enough that its not too noisy.

The location of the property is great; a four minute walk to the harbour, and a ten minute walk to the beach.

However, the location is also the biggest negative of this property. The front of the building is about ten metres from a very busy factory; two of the bedrooms are located at the front and we were woken every morning at 6.45am by trucks loading and unloading materials and truck drivers shouting across to each other, and this really let the property down unfortunately. This is not a peaceful location, and our sleep was detrimentally affected throughout our stay. The property is well decorated, and the owners have added lots of extra facilities; top of the range coffee machine, and even a PS3 with games for the children. Unfortunately, if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to stay in Weymouth this would not suit. It’s a real shame about the noisy location, because the property itself is lovely.

great time at a great location

Ashwood has had a total refurb since our stay in 2019 (and it was excellent then).

We were absolutely delighted with the quality of the accommodation; Nick and Lizzie have done an exceptional job.

We loved our stay at Ashwoods.

The house was well equipped and in a fantastic location. We will definitely return again in the future!

The keypad was very difficult to use, we were unable to open it on leaving the property; we even asked the owners of Hop House next door for their advice and they couldn't get it to work.

Things were easier when we could pick up keys from Dream Cottages in Hope Square and return it there. The heating was excellent unlike when we stayed at the property in 2014 and had to borrow electric heaters from Dream Cottages.

The house was immaculate, most things looked brand new, it was in a great location near the harbour.

One small criticism would be that the tv channels were limited. We had brought a fire stick so could watch films etc. I would definitely rent this property again.

Cleanliness when arrived poor.

Crumbs on kitchen surfaces and disposable lady shavers and soap left in shower area.

Third time of booking with Dream cottages, all 3 exceeded our expectations.

Customer service excellent. Left my Cartier watch and never realised, had a call today from Marg to say cleaners had found it and handed it in even though I never reported it missing, just thought my partner had kept it safe! Nothing but praise for all the team! I will be sending a thank you!! See you soon xx

An excellent holiday house with great facilities, close to the town and beach so really good for the family. A well laid out house, although the middle floor double bedroom was a little tight on space, but all in all a great property. It was great having free Wi-Fi and an off the road secure car park space too. We will book this property again. Thanks for helping us have a great holiday!

Excellent, prompt,very helpful and polite service from dream cottages. Ashwood was perfect! Lovely interior throughout, very comfortable(nice to have two reception rooms as there was six of us), well equipped(everything you would need), very clean and nice patio area with furniture . It is in a secure, really lovely central location - stayed August 2016
