The cottage offers an outstanding base for walkers to explore the miles of surrounding footpaths.
A 10-minute walk on the Coastal Footpath leads to the Fleet Lagoon, one of the few natural lagoons left in the world.
The Fleet is an important area for wildlife and has received an SPA (Special Protection Area) under the EU Birds directive, an SAC (Special Area of Conservation) and an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest).
With low levels of ambient light pollution, Dorset is known to be a popular location for those wanting to get clear view of the night sky.

Known as a Thankful Village, as all men returned from both World Wars, Langton Herring is dotted with pretty thatched cottages and the local pub boasts connections to smugglers and their contraband! A stroll along the adjacent coastal path provides you with spectacular views across the Fleet Lagoon, home to many migrant birds, whilst a trip to nearby Abbotsbury, with its swannery and sub tropical gardens is a must. Alternatively, visit Weymouth with its bustling harbour or just soak up the sun enjoying the watersports and numerous attractions. Should you tire of all this take the scenic coastal journey towards West Bay, the setting for TV’s Broadchurch series.
