“Great cottage in an excellent location, some lovely walks straight from the door My only gripe (for want of a better word!”

) is the over the bath shower, this really needs to be either replaced or sorted out as it is very poor That very small moan is the only thing that was not particularly good as everything else was great I would highly recommend this cottage and we WILL be looking to see when we can come back

This charming property welcomes a family or sharing couples searching for a refreshing, self-catered stay overlooking the idyllic Frome Water Meadows, boasting off-road parking, stunning countryside views, and fantastic proximity to nearby amenities.

This lovely home, with living spaces set on the ground floor, has a well-presented, open-plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, a dining room with patio access, and a sitting area with a woodburning stove.

An enclosed, furnished garden invites you and your loved ones to sit back, unwind and raise a glass of your favourite drink to toast your getaway on sunnier days.

Before eventually retiring for a well-earned rest in either a king-size or single bedroom, be sure to refresh with a long, hot shower after the sun has set.

If you can drag yourself away from your new home, head outside and discover what your local area has to offer.

Outside of your dwelling, you can embark on a walk in the countryside or a bike ride, with paths located on your doorstep!

The popular bar, The Sun Inn at Charminster, which serves traditional pub fare, is also just a short distance away.

Take a walk through Dorchester, which boasts a fantastic selection restaurants and tourist attractions.

There are also numerous, well-known brands located on the high street, which are further complemented by independent stores and boutiques.

The town is home to more than four museums, including one devoted to Tutankhamun.

Tennis courts, a play area, and a vintage music stand are all located within the tranquil Borough Gardens, whilst a visit to an actual Roman Townhouse and the Iron Age Maiden Castle are two other "must-dos" whilst you're in the area.

During your visit to the region, you should also include a trip to spend time soaking in some of the many stunning landmarks and landscapes that are located inside the neighbouring Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Bring your loved ones to Frome Lodge House for a holiday you will never forget.

About the location

BUCKLAND NEWTON

Dorchester 12 miles; Sherborne 12 miles.

The West Dorset village of Buckland Newton, and its seven surrounding hamlets including Brockhampton, is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of Blackmore Vale, and at the head of the quaintly named Piddle Valley. The village is 12 miles south of historic Sherborne and 12 miles north of Thomas Hardy's Dorchester. Locally there are lovely scenic walks to be had, while a visit to nearby ancient Cerne Abbas is not to be missed, with its instantly recognisable chalk giant and numerous tea rooms and inns serving real ales and good food. Alternatively, travel south to the memorable Dorset Jurassic Coast, now a designated World Heritage Site, where many sandy beaches await you and provide visitors with great facilities for all kinds of water sports. Weymouth offers golden sandy beaches and a bustling harbour from which you can take a day trip to the Channel Islands. A short drive from here takes you to Portland Harbour and the rugged “Isle” of Portland, which is linked to Weymouth by dramatic Chesil Beach. With fascinating Sherborne and bustling Dorchester also just a short drive away, you really are spoilt for choice in this lovely part of Dorset.
