What guests are saying
We had a lovely stay at Weybury Cottage it was perfect for our needs.
It is situated in a great position close to the harbour and nice walk around to Nothe Fort. The garden was great for our two small dogs. The added bonus of off road parking was useful, accessed by a narrow lane at the rear. The house is well laid out. We didn’t use all the rooms available. It had everything we needed. There were only two things that we would point out which were the bathroom vanity unit is looking tired with some water damage, and the dining room chairs are well worn with little cushioning. We didn’t go until late in the season (sept) so would assume a very busy summer season would have taken its toll. But still a really good choice for a family holiday.
Ideal location for access to old harbour and town and beach.
Parking tight access but is convenient. Cottage was clean but needs a little work to improve the experience. Mattresses on all beds tired and uncomfortable as springs can be felt through them, loft bed has two strips of wood supporting it from underneath which are not original, loft bedroom stair access unsafe as the rope handrail doesn’t extend the full length and the stairs are very steep. Downstairs seating uncomfortable, snug area seating is benches which are not comfortable to sit on for long. Kitchen area very warm as it’s combined with conservatory so direct sunlight with no blinds meant it was too hot and the roof vent didn’t work. NO FREEZER in the kitchen is a real negative. Access from front or rear of the property is not ideal for limited mobility due to steps. Rear garden steps above the sleepers are inadequate as they are varied height and the top one is not wide enough so is a hazard particularly when coming down. There was paint peeling from the area next to the sofa. There are some nice fixtures and pictures but it is not somewhere we would stay again as a family, the cost of the holiday was not reflected in the quality of the accommodation.
Very enjoyable stay in a great location.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Access to the loft extension bedroom was slightly awkward and although it did not cause us a problem, it would be worth highlighting this in the booking information. The vehicle access to the rear of the property was also a bit tight to get in to, although the parking space was most welcome. Also the steps down from the garage are a bit dodgy, particularly the two wooden steps just up from the railway sleepers.
