Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, what a place to visit!

Amytells usabout her trip to Abbotsbury Subtopical Gardens What a place to visit! On Saturday 1st November, my family and I went to the Sub-tropicalGardens for the evening. We do this each year as in the half term break in October they open the Gardens up in the evening, and put lots of different lights around the gardens, which just look magical. You follow the Floodlit path, which is lit by lanterns and it takes you around the gardens and shows off the beautiful lighting display. As it was over Halloween, of course there were lots of different and spooky activities going on. You could have your face painted (not for me unfortunately) go to the witches hut for some chocolate and of course be made to jump. Yes certain trees and bushes would have things jump out in front or you and lots of spooky sounds going on, however this just made the evening more entertaining. This year they also extended the walk, so you got to see the ponds and more of the lovely gardens all lit up. There was also a fantastic laser show on, which was just brilliant.   After the walk around you can go into the caf and enjoy a nice hot cup of tea to warm you up before heading home. As you leave there is also a lovely gift shop to see, which is great for Christmas Decorations.   I love going to the Subtropical gardens, it is just lovely to walk around in the autumn evenings and admire the whole view.   If you are visiting Dorset then this is definitely a place to visit, whether in the evening in October or just for a day out in the Summer.   Read more >
