“We had an extremely comfortable stay at Mews Cottage.”

It is a period property, which is kept clean and tidy, with a lovely garden. It was perfect for what we needed. Although it has no WiFi access this was not an issue with us. It was very quiet even thoough it was close to the main shopping street, which again was very convenient. My only issue was parking, however this was not the property owners fault, as there was scaffolding on the building next door that impeded the drive way. All in all a really enjoyable and relaxing stay.

With light and sunny south-facing rooms, you'll have a great view of all the local comings and goings from the upstairs windows.

Outside there is a garden area with decking at the front of the cottage and there are endless walks right from the front door.

About the location

TISBURY, NEAR BATH

Shaftesbury 12 miles; Salisbury 15 miles.

An interesting, lively village on the Wiltshire/Dorset border, well served by a good selection of inns, shops, a library, a bank, a garage and with a regular rail link to both London and Exeter. The village is set in the valley of the River Nadder, a good fishing river which gently meanders its way down to Salisbury and where herons, grey wagtails and even kingfishers may be seen - a bird watcher’s paradise! Along the valley, the lush green countryside provides superb rural walks and cycling. Full of history, the nearby mill predates even the Domesday Book. A visit to the local churchyard reveals a famous 1,000 year old yew tree and also the graves of Rudyard Kipling's parents, who lived here. The village serves as a great year round base for exploring this interesting area. Within a short drive are Wilton House, Shaftesbury, Old Wardour Castle, Stourhead, Stonehenge (which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping Bond of £150.

Note: Children aged eight and over welcome (unsuitable for those under 8, except babes in arms).

Sorry no WIFI.

Please Note: There is a pub next door.

Important - Please note the neighbouring property has scaffolding outside, this only slightly covers the living room window with poles, while works are carried out.
