    “I wish all holiday cottages were like this, it was perfect.”

    It was clean, comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious, welcome pack was the best I have ever seen in a holiday property. There were so many little touches that were above and beyond what you would normally expect. The owners are very helpful and there is so much to do in the surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again.

Sturminster Newton 4 miles.

Surrounded by a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village of Okeford Fitzpaine boasts a local shop and pub, with further shopping facilities at nearby Sturminster Newton. The small market town of Sturminster Newton is set on the banks of the River Stour, reached via a graceful, six arch 15th century bridge, carrying a warning of deportation for those who damage it! The whole area acted as inspiration for the works of Thomas Hardy, who wrote Return of The Native whilst living in the town. The region is dotted with thatched cottages, rural walks, stunning country views, and fascinating towns, such as Sherborne, with its abbey and castle, whilst the beautiful Dorset Heritage coastline is also within easy reach, making this an ideal base all year round!
