What guests are saying
We stayed at this property for three nights while competing in the Weymouth Ironman, and its location was excellent.
Being so close to the town centre, seafront and event facilities made it an ideal base for our group. On arrival, however, our first impression was not the best, as the front of the property was dominated by around eight waste bins, which made the entrance feel unwelcoming. The house itself was clean and comfortable, but with a little more care and attention it could be significantly improved. We had planned to cook meals during our stay, but the kitchen equipment was surprisingly limited for a property that accommodates up to nine guests. There was only one saucepan and no baking trays, making meal preparation difficult, although there was a large Le Creuset casserole dish available. While there was plenty of crockery, the kitchen lacked some of the basic items most groups would expect when self-catering. It also felt as though several items had been stored in the property simply because there was nowhere else for them to go. Examples included a gaming chair in one of the bedrooms and a broken table football game. Removing some of these unnecessary items would help the house feel more spacious and better maintained. Overall, the property's biggest strength is its fantastic location. With a little decluttering and greater attention to the kitchen facilities and presentation, it could be an excellent place to stay.
Very disappointed with the property and facilities.
There is no welcome pack and no instruction booklets for appliances. It is felt the upkeep of the property is neglected. The work surfaces in the kitchen, some cupboard door handles require replacing along with bath and showers. Pans etc were dirty, mugs heavily stained. The shower on the second floor is not fit for purpose. The single beds are very uncomfortable. On a positive note ideally situated in the centre of Weymouth close to the beach. Car parking at Weymouth Railway Station is close by and costs around £40 per week, pre booked through South West Railways. Free if a blue badge is displayed and pre arranged through South West Railways.
The house has great potential thanks to its size and excellent location near the sea.
There is plenty of space, the beds are very comfortable, and the bed linen and towels were clean and fresh, which we really appreciated. However, the property clearly needs renovation and better maintenance. In the kitchen there are visible signs of water damage, which not only looks unpleasant but is also starting to develop mold. All the dishes had to be washed before use as they were not clean. There were also no sharp knives available, apart from a cleaver, which made cooking difficult. In the bathroom and one of the toilets, the windows cannot be properly closed, which is concerning. On a positive note, the lady taking care of the house was absolutely wonderful – very kind, warm, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Overall, this place could be amazing with some improvements, but in its current condition it falls short of expectations.
