“The cottage is pretty and set in a beautiful village.”
On first inspection, things appeared to be quite good, but as the week progressed a number of things took the edge off our stay. On first inspection, things appeared to be quite good, but as the week progressed a number of things took the edge off our stay. The beds were quite uncomfortable, poor mattresses and could have done with a king size bed. During the week, the smell of drains and damp in the bathroom and ensuite got worse and worse. Cleaning was only superficial and basic around the house. The bathrooms and kitchen had been cleaned, vacuuming and floors okay, but there were cobwebs everywhere and dirt and dust on the skirting board and behind cupboards. The whole house needed a proper clean! The other big issue was our neighbours in the house next door who lost their power. It turned out that their electricity supply came from the distribution board in our house. They told us what the situation was, the power tripped on a number of occasions, so my husband and I had to keep an eye on their power, to make sure that we could switch it back on if needed. Definitely not ideal! When the power goes off in the neighbouring cottage, then Little Forge loses it's wi-fi. Also, we had no control over the central heating system as the boiler was sited in the other property, so that needs to be taken into consideration. Given all of the above, we wouldn't stay there again, or recommend it to others.
Thank you for providing your feedback which we take very seriously. We will investigate and rectify.
