“Beautiful cottage, clean and the beds were very comfortable.”
I only dropped a star on comfortable as the sofas were so deep, for a couple of very short people, they could do with plumper cushions for support! I only dropped a star on comfortable as the sofas were so deep, for a couple of very short people, they could do with plumper cushions for support! But we didn't spend much time indoors as the garden is lovely and very private. There's everything you could wish for in the kitchen, even a knife sharpener and good knives for food prep. Everywhere else I've ever been has been so frustrating as theres never sharp knives. If you love to cook, this is essential. Plenty of oven space and hobs, the grill was a bit slow, unusual for gas, but not too much of a problem. Didn't get a response from my query about which pods the coffee machine took, so if you love coffee as much as I do, take nespresso original pods! The area is spectacular, but very hilly, so if you have bad knees be warned. Brilliant views across the cliffs and just a mile walk to Durdle Door. The village is extremely busy at the weekends, but calmer during the week. Plenty of place within walking distance to eat if you dont want to cook in the lovely kitchen. And what made the week for me was watching the swallows nesting in the porch eves. We didn't want to keep disturbing them, so used the back door to come and go as much as we could. All in all, not far from perfect.
We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay in our family home. The swallows and their ancestors have been coming back every year for the last 30 years !
